if your family doesn't do that u could eat 3 meals a day but eat the serving size or eat a smaller proportion and start working out even if your at home doing nothing you could go in your room and do sit-ups, push-up, and what ever school you go to, if they have any sports you could attempt to try a sport, you could also go to the track those are a few way you could lose weight, im 14 also and i know how it feels to be over weight im a dancer and a cheerleader and with those two things in my life i was able to lose weight by eating less and doin things i love

Hi I'm 14 also and I've been trying to lose about 30 to 20 pounds for about a year now. I am 146 pounds currently and I would love to be 127 pounds. I've actually lost a lot of weight before but gained it all back in within 3 weeks due to inactivity. Since then ive wanted to lose even more weight and I'm actually trying really hard. Everyday I do 30-43 minutes of cardio exercises and a lot of water. But I don't see results and ive been doing this for about 4 weeks. Someone help me!

Sorry that you feel very uncomfartable in p.e. Truthfully i do too. I feel too fat. I really dont have any tips for you I am looking for tips my self. :frown:

The first thing to do is to accept yourself. I'm a 14-year-old girl and I just learned to accept myself. I would like to lose weight just so I could feel a little bit more comfortable in the summer, but that's not all I think about. Instead of focusing on your weight, focus on something you are good at i.e. sing, math, being a good friend. Confidence is the number one thing, so keep your chin up and shoulders back. Having good posture also makes you look thinner. (:

-NEVER SKIP MEALS.
-start your day off with protein. Not carbs. I eat a scrambled egg for breakfast. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. It kickstarts your metabolism.
-you HAVE to eat every 2-3 hours for your body to not go into starvation mode. You don't have to eat a meal, just a small snack, so your body knows that you're taking care of it. I sneak in a serving of almonds in my 2nd period class and a protein bar right after school.
-limit yourself to one soda a day
-don't eat junk food 24/7 (chips, candy, snack cakes, etc.)
-when you want a snack, get a string cheese or some almonds (a serving size). They are full of protein, and they aren't "diet food"
-drink water. You should try to drink at least 40 oz of water a day. I know it sounds hard, but it's worth it.
-eat whole wheat bread
-pack your lunch for school. You never know how fattening the school lunches are.
-take the stairs, help clean the house/yard, and walk as often as you can. These simple things get you moving, but your mind doesn't think it's exercising.
-go outside and hula-hoop, jump rope, play basketball, or anything that gets you moving outside.
-sweat is good. It means you're burning calories.
-don't count calories
-ask your family to go outside and play a nice game of kickball, baseball, basketball, frisbee or any team sport. This way, you are exercising, but you're having so much fun you aren't noticing.
-dance around your room or in your bathroom when you are getting ready.
-PRAY. Without God you can do nothing. Remember, don't pray for things to be easy, but pray for yourself to be strong. (:

I am 14 years old and unhappy with my weight. I weight about 120 and I'm about 5 foot 4 inches. I have thick (but also muscular) thighs and my stomache is kind of fat an I have big obliques (also known as "love handles") that I can't seen to get rid of and I know all the obvious stuff, drink water and Excercise more but I feel like nothing is working

it may not seem like much, but Ramen is NOT a good choice of a meal. It has a lot of sodium and carbs, as well as fat. Also, skipping breakfast is not good because your body thinks u are starving it, so it stores fat. You workouts are great and i addvise you to keep going! :) In plaace of ramen try fishor a salad with low fat dressing and chicken. Hope I helped! :D

Hello people. I am 15 and i weigh 238, aqnd i am a girl. I feel so growdy to people who say i need to lose weight when their about 100 sounds. I use to be really skinny until i hit 5th grade. I currently have a boyfriend now and i feel like i do not deserve himbc of theway i look. But he alway tells me that i look fine. To me I like im a out cast. I feel so ugly when i wear pretty clothes. And knowing when i cant wear prettier clothes or wear tighter clothes. I use to be a cheerleader, basetball player, and a softball player. The sports really helped me but i was always tired. So i stopped playing and gained a lot of weight. At the point i did not care but now sineim inhighschool i care a lot. But the thing is i actually feel pretty to myself, i just feel that if i lose weight i'll feel even more pretty. On my spring break I walked two miles a day with my grandmother. But when school started back i stopped bc  didnt have enough energy to do it. So what id like is a lil inspiration. some tips, just some help

I am the same way! I am 14 and weigh 175 ans I want to be down to at least 130 but i am terrible at excersising and my parents dont buy healthy food!

all i can tell you sweetie is sit down with everyone in your houshold and talk to them about your problem and let them know that YOU ARE SERIOUS about losing weight and if they still dont understand then just pray to jesus that they will. and if this doesnt help then start walking just a little bit everyday then soon youll b able to run and the next thing you know you already weigh 125:)
