Hello!
I need advice, because something strange is happening to me. For the past two months I am smelling smoke all the time. I keep on asking people around me if they smell it too, but the answer is no. I smell it everywhere/ in gym, in office, at home… Does anyone have any advice what this might be?

I have had the same problem for almost 6 months and doing all the necessary things to rule out the worst case scenario. In th interim, I saw a ENT Dr who recommended taking zinc as a supplement. Almost immediately the smell stopped. Sharing this as I know this constant smell of smoke can cause much distress so I am hoping some of you find relief.

I'll try the Zinc thing. I've had this cigarette smoke smell issue for about a year now. It comes and goes. Inside or outside doesn't matter but it's more noticable inside.

Hello there, I too have suffered with mysterious smoke, not cigarette, smell and taste. I have lost about 80% of both. Gone to 3 ENT's with no real. Sent to a neurologist too who today prescribed Lexapro! I'm beside myself and needless to say driving family and friends nuts!! My symptoms sound very similar to yours. Please tell me the prescribed medication given to you? Much appreciated and bet wishes!
Hi, did you find out a cause from neurologist
Exactly the same time mine started! The clip on air freshener in my car
Solved. I owe it to the people on the web to share what worked for me. After taking 300mg of St John's Wort and 1000mg of oderless garlic for 5 days, it is gone. I searched high and low for months and found a post from someone else who said this worked for them, so I tried it. It worked. I was smelling gas, metallic smell, sewage or burnt odors. Triggers were popcorn, dish soap, cucumber, Listerine or anything with alcohol like hand sanitizer, sour dough bread etc. Good Luck!
I hope this works. I dealt with a terrible cold that brought on sinus infection, then bronchitis....couldn't smell anything for a long while. Now smell this mysterious ash/smoke smell. It is very odd. Before I run around from doc to doc, I'll give this a go. Thank you and stay healthy.
I have it and obviously searched the net till I found something terminal, as you do!! But I only get it in doors or especially in the car with heater on. I ain't got time to go to Doc's or worry and I ain't got time for a tuma so I won't get it checked. Again the internet is the answer. Thank you
I have been having bouts of smelling smoke for months at a time after being around smoke for a short period. I couldn't understand it. I thought I was going crazy...so did my husband and a friend of mine I was brave enough to tell. It turns out I have a deviated septum and a completely blocked sinus on one side. I'm so glad there are other people going through the same thing!
Hi, I have the same problem with you. I think its in our age, as we grow old our body starts to give up specially when we abuse it. I am turning 35 next month. The best thing to do now is to keep ourselves healthy, we must take care of our body.
Please answer my question: hey people, are you using aircondition unit in the house? and who among here are facing the computer 24/7?
After reading your post and all the replays, I know I'm not going crazy, have epilepsy or a brain tumor!! I smell smoke during the spring and fall everywhere I go. I usually use my Neti during the winter, but decided to use it after reading your comment and the replys. Guess what? Right this minute I'm not smelling smoke. Since this is my first time using my Neti pot for this reason, I don't know how long the relief will last. I have been having this problem for years. I used to smell garbage and was constantly sniffing areas of my house, car and work place. So, smoke is much better than garbage, but it was still so annoy. Try rinsing your sinuses. I dissolved one packet of saline in 8 oz of water. Hope this helps give you some relief!
I smell what appears to be cigarette smoke as well. This started about a week ago along with bronchitis and sinus infection. Praying it goes away. Anyone else?
