A) Do not stop eating with the idea that you will loose weight. It will trigger your body into thinking that you need to generate more fat to keep yourself alive.
B) running is a good form of working out, though it is not a fat burning workout, it's a cardio workout, so if your looking to loose weight get on a good system. I would personally suggest the workout/book camp system called "Insanity Workout." it is based on muscle confussion which helps build some serious muscle and burn a lot of fat.
C) Do realize that the first three letters in the word "diet" are DIE. Diets not only confuze your body and drastically change the way you body absorbs nutrients, but it changes them into a different chemical. Instead, go on a "NUTRITION PLAN." a nutrition plan is NOT A DIET! It is simply a way of life. A nutrition plan doesn't stop the amount of sugar and calories you intake, but merely limits them. To much of anything is not good, and to little of anything is not gd. So allow yourself to have a small sweet treat 1 a week. But do not go overboard on it. :)
If you stick to these tips, you will get results fast!!!
P.S. never weigh yourself at night, you always weigh more at night than u do first thing in the morning, because when your sleeping, your body burns fat and calories,

I know right? I'm 13, 5 ft. 2in. and 130-140 lbs! Do you guys consider me fat? I mean, I exercise a bit and I try to eat healthy, but I feel like my belly is getting bigger! When I am in class, there is a girl sitting across the room. She has the skinniest legs ever. I want to look, feel, and act great! I found a few tips though. 1. Workout with a friend. This competition makes you want to win more. 2. Drink only water! 3. try to add a little bit more exercise each week or so. I need something that is REALLY strong motivation for me to finish my goal to reach 110 lbs. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

NO DON'T! Look up on the internet the weight range for your age. Make sure you choose a website that has a bar where you put in your height too, that REALLY matters when it comes down to this. Also, try not to exercise to much, because if you somehow drop that level, your body isn't used to it, and you can become unhealthy. BTW, if YOU think you are overweight, find something that motivates you really well! For example, I want to lose weight and I am motivated by looking at pictures of supermodels. It works! Also, try to find exercise videos on the internet. Those can help too. What really is nice is that if you take a picture of your waist each week, you can really tell if you are getting skinnier, staying the same or getting over.

DON'T DO THAT! ANOREXIA IS DEADLY!!!! Just exercise, eat super healthy. Like no transfats or High fructose corn syrup (found in soda and candy and others).

You are have a healthy weight for your height...but if you really need to lose weight just eat healthy foods, cut out the junk for every once in a while. Also, exercise 60 minutes everyday and don't eat after 7:00 pm because if you eat later you can't burn off the calories and your body turns it into fat.

OK, I know this is very long, but I have a lot of valuable info and experience on this, so please bear with me :). And I realize this post was more than 2 years ago, but for anyone else this may help I'm writing it anyway.
You are normal for your age! You are growing into a woman. Sometimes you will need some extra calories stored away for future growth spurts. This is normal. Please don't starve yourself.
If you starve yourself you will only store the little food you eat as fat! I did that constantly when I was your age and it only made it worse. Your body goes into "starvation mode" and stores calories as fat because in evolution, that usually meant food was scarce. It's a survival mechanism most mammals have to store calories in times of famine. It seems like the opposite, but if you eat smaller 300-400 calorie meals 5 times/day it will speed up your metabolism because you're digesting foods more often, hence burning more calories, too.
Plus if you don't get enough nutrition while you're growing you could have some major probs later. I am only 36 and I have fractured and sprained so many things, have arthritis in my back, knees, and hips. its ridiculous. I'm way too young for the probs I have. I think it's because I didn't get enough nutrition as a teen due to constantly starving myself trying to lose weight! PLEASE get your proper nutrition.
If you want a starting point follow these recommendations. Each day eat:
-4 servings of veg (1 serv = 1/2 c. cooked, 1 c. raw),
-3 servings of fruit (1 serv =1 fruit, 1/2 c. berries, etc.),
-2.5 servings of lean protein (1 serv =chicken, fish 6oz/1 fillet; beef 4oz/size of your palm & only 2x/week for red meat) , and
-4-6 starches (1 serv =1 slice bread, 1/2 c pasta, cereal, or rice).
Some examples of small meals are fruit & protein smoothies, 1/2 sandwiches, hot cereal, fruit, cottage cheese, lean meat, salads, steamed veg, rice/brown rice, whole grain toast & peanut butter, pasta, etc. To help track food, fitness, etc.

If you get in all your foods you'll fill up on "real" food so much you'll eat way less junk cuz you won't be hungry. And here's what it boils down to with "dieting": starving yourself makes you gain weight! Not only b/c of what I mentioned, but b/c you're blood sugar drops making you reach for something quick and sugary or starchy to bring it back up, so you're more likely to binge later after depriving yourself. Then your insulin is released after you're blood sugar spikes too high from sugary food, bringing it too low again, making you hungry again! These are instincts when your blood sugar is low. It's not because you're bad. Its a vicious cycle. I guarantee if you get in all your foods I mentioned you'll feel better, more energized, and eliminate a lot of the junk. But don't completely drop junk all together or you'll feel deprived. Just moderate yourself (couple pieces of dark choc vs a king sized candy bar, for eg).
Last but not least, get some activity. Even just going for a walk every day. It doesn't HAVE to be a hour. join cross country or another school sport, or just go shoot some hoops or dance with friends, play with some kids or a dog. It all counts. Doesn't have to be fancy, just keep doing something. Moving your body is good for your mind. It cycles the blood through your system faster, increases oxygen in your blood, and therefore elevates your mood. you'll just feel better.
I know this is long, but I'll wrap it up. And I think this is the MOST important part: Please, PLEASE don't hate on yourself! You'll get a furrow in your brow, exude this hate of yourself to others, and they will just avoid you b/c you're so hateful...even if just to yourself. Please, love yourself like your mama would love you, or at the very least, like a friend would love you. Would you say, "I think you're fat. I absolutely hate you for it!" to a friend?! You ARE beautiful, every single person reading this. We are all beautiful! And we are all different shapes and sizes, and have different needs and challenges in life. Don't compare yourself to others. It's apples and oranges. Especially right now! You are in puberty. You are changing every day, week, month! Take CARE of yourself! Love the you you are! One day you'll look at your photos and say, "What was wrong with me? I was beautiful! I wish I looked that good now!"

Hey I am 13 and I weigh 9 stone and I hate being fat because at school I get called fat and my family call me fat and it's not my fault I and I brokemy leg and was in plaster for 6 months could not really do anything but at the moment I am getting bullied my cousin and I was on crutches and she decided to push me over I just feel so hurt and she thinks it's all my fault the her dad and mum had a fight wen I was not there but today I felt so hurt that I was really close to slit my wrists but good is that going to do but anyway any tips on losing weight in 2 months and how can I stop myself from sliting my wrists please thank you xx :'(
