Everyone, Please try this: Ask your doctor to give you a generic de-worming medicine. It is usually a single dose. I tried it and my stomach growling almost dissapeared! Along with de-worming medicine I also had a common stomach antibiotic(metronidazole) which takes care of amoeba / protozo infection. Getting stomach worms and other stomach organism is common and any one can get from simple stuff like eating salads/fruits or biting finger nails, etc. So giving it a short wont harm you.

If you try this and it works for you, then please don't forget to write your reponse here as it might help thousands of people who are suffering from this problem. And don't forget to thank me. :-)
Good luck All!

My husband is getting these often and I think it's from the fake sugar he's been using in his coffee and diet sodas.

this problem is affecting me too. Im going back to college in 5 weeks. I dont have problems with anxiety or nervousness until im in a quiet room full of people. my stomach has been causing me so much anguish. I'm going to a homeopathic doctor to see what advice I can get about it. I dont want to wash out of college for such a stupid reason but it is stressful and embarrassing.

Hello,

I too have been suffering with a growling stomach for over a year now. I believe that I have found the biggest cause of my problem. I can relate to all the posts here. It took me many months and much heartache to get to this point.

I have developed an allergy to milk in my late forties. I didn't believe my doctor and thought there was some pill I could take that would solve the horrible rumblings that nearly cost me my job as a consultant.

I cannot digest milk any longer. So it sits in my bowels and ferments. The fermentation causes the growling. I am not sure if this is specifically lactose intolerance or an allergy, but it doesn't really matter.

The difficult part is that many foods contain milk. I thought I was good by avoiding my yogurt, etc., but it is much deeper than that. Look at all your breads, milks, meat coatings, turkey browning, etc. ingredients. Milk products are in so many foods it will scare you.

You can be medically tested for lactose intolerance. However it means sitting in a hospital while they take multiple breath readings over the course of hours. I tried this simple, definitely NOT scientific, test. Drink two large 8 ounce glasses of 1 percent or fat-free milk on a day when you can afford to get sick. Times vary, but it took almost ten hours before I became very ill and I could see the milk actually passing from my body.

The time delay is the biggest problem with diagnosing the "stomach growling" sickness. What you ate yesterday evening could definitely be causing your problems this afternoon. You can only be very analytical about your food and with God's help you will find your specific food allergy.

My stomach growling is definitely under control now. Occasionally I will still get some growling, but a PepCid AC will control it pretty well. My heart and prayers go out to all the other people suffering from this problem. I hope this post helps in some small way.

Thank you to all for your input. I have never had this problem before. I am 60 years old and my hot flashes are enough to suck the self confidence righ out of me and now this rumbling sound...volcanic, is more like it. I hate going to meetings because I KNOW it's going to start. I will check out "Culturelle" and also see a doctor in the next month.

I am taking something new for hot flashes...red clover, guggui gum resin, chaste berry powder, Soy, Red berry powder...and more.

I need to quit these pills for two weeks and see what happens...but please, if someone knows something about this, please post. thanks![code

Hi everyone,

I suffer from this anxiety too, deferred from university and took classes by distance because I got too nervous about sitting in class. The thing is that all this talk about finding things to cure the growling, and little habits people have formed such as only eating such and such to stop it (I used to have little rituals too) won't help.

Obviously I'm not talking to the people who have found that they have actual medical conditions, but just to the ones who live in fear of their stomach growling. No medication will completely eliminate stomach growls forever. They're natural. Unless you have a medical condition, medication won't help. It could reduce your stomach growlings but it won't eliminate the fear that it COULD happen. And I think a lot of people here are dealing with anxiety issues rather than medical issues. So maybe instead of sharing treatments that reduce the stomach rumbles, we should be addressing what to do about the anxiety.

I'm not sitting in judgement. I just know that I went through hell trying to control every little thing I ate, and taking charcoal tablets and even though my stomach wouldn't rumble, I spent so much energy trying not to panic that it would anyway. It's a horrible way to feel and I just believe that it would be better for us to stop obsessing over preventing our stomachs from making noise, and instead try and stop ourselves from caring if they do.

i think most of you have got ibs (irritable bowel syndrome). its a brain-gut axis thing. it made my life complete hell. missed most of highschool because of it. i would recommend hynotherapy to get you out of the cycle of dreading quiet places and extremely loud stomach noises. think of being on a beach with a light breeze and all you can hear is the waves. thats what gets me relaxed. hope this helps :-D

Several months ago I began working in a quiet environment and found my stomach growling loudly sometimes too. Not only did I find it embarrassing that these weird sounds were emanating from my abdomen but I was new and I didn't want my growling stomach to be my claim to fame. I did online research (including reading many of these posts) and experimented with my diet a little. I found that taking a tablespoon of olive oil after breakfast helped quiet my stomach (the issue was less my stomach and more my small intestines) much like putting oil on soap suds makes them disappear. I found this idea from medicinenet,com/script/main/art,asp?articlekey=77935 (the address wouldn't appear if I didn't make some of the periods into commas). Something else I've changed is cutting out peanut butter before I go somewhere where I don't want my stomach to growl. I guess peanuts aren't actually nuts (peanut-institute,org/PeanutFAQs,html) they're legumes just like beans, so you know what that means. So for my protein boost in the morning I eat almond butter instead. However, I also believe it's important to realize that while a growling stomach can be socially uncomfortable, it's not the end of the world.

Well, I had Jury Duty today and almost died when it got quiet and EVERYONE in the room got an ear full of my stomach doing a symphony on its' own. Been living with this for many many years and have been avoiding quiet places like this for years. Haven't attended church regularly due to my stomach and all the various noises it makes. It happens whether I eat or not. Tried Gas X and have been taking Nexium for reflux for many years. Have had IBS since I was 10 and have learned to live with it. I am 50 now. Will try the Culturelle you mentioned. Some of the tricks I use are putting a large open book over my abdomen to muffle some of the noise. Also, sometimes changing positions in a chair helps. I know what you guys are going through but life it too short to put it on hold. Just hold you head up high and tell them all that you have no control over this and they just need to get over it. Lovlier, you need to go see a gastroenterologist and let him take a look at your symptoms, throwing up after you eat isn't normal and he may have a medication that could help you with these problems. :-D
