Mirena, trouble with intercourse

I had the same thing happen to me. I felt a sharp pain and then alot of blood. After it happened the first time it did happen again. I had the IUD removed because I never knew when it was going to happen again and was worried every time.

Maybe this is a saftey feature to stop men from beating our cervixes

I've had my IUD for about 2 years and I'm worried pretty much every time that my boyfriend and I have sex that he's going to get stabbed. When he gets stabbed it hurts him enough that we have to stop right then and there. I've talked to him about getting the IUD removed and switching to something else but he says it doesn't happen enough for that. I've definitely noticed a decrease in our sex life because of it though. I've gotten it trimmed twice and my doctor says if I shorten it more it'd be too hard to remove.
INFORMATIONAL BIT:
You cervix gets lower and higher during different parts of your cycle so you can look into that and be more careful for the time it's lower. I've found sex from behind increases the chance of him being stabbed too. I'm trying to find I good solution myself but I hope that helps someone

After having mirena inserted I stopped feeling anything while me and my boyfriend are having sex. This happened to anybody else?

I am the same way and was wondering if I was going crazy. I, too, am numb during intercourse since having Mirena inserted over a year ago. Thinking of having it removed and using a different method.

I had the same problem and I just eventually got used to it. We had gotten a divorce couple yrs after she got the IUD. And she said no other guy had mentioned it. Must've been the size. Does that matter with y'all. I'm 8 inches. Just curious. She eventually had it removed due to syst on her ovaries.
