I have the same thing.. I've had it since my period started for the first time.. It's really feeling me out.. Haha... If you want to see something really creepy lay on your back, make yourself look pregnant as possible then relax and breath out.. It moves by itself 0.0 or at least mine does.. Soo scary! Please if anyone finds out something from a doctor please post it! And I do it to but if it is like an organ or anything I don't think we should push it around everywhere to much lol might cause damage.. Even though it's hard not to mess with it!

I didn't read everybodys comments. I am 66 years old. I have had this since I was around 10 or 11. I have been real thin and slightly over weight (as I am now) but it has never gone away. I lay down I feel a lump somewhere in my stomach (it can be anywhere) and a few moments later it either moves or goes away. I will say to my wife "feel this" and in the seconds it takes for her to feel it...it's gone.

I have never in the 50+ years I've had this, ever found out what it is. And no....a doctor has never felt it.

I read most of the posts on this topic and would like to add my own experience.  I am a 45 year old man in pretty good shape, exercise almost every day and eat a pretty healthy diet.  A few months ago I too started feeling a lump that was more noticible in the morning and could be moved by pressing on it, which would cause minor irritation only when pressing on it.  A week ago I started feeling a stomach ache, and after a couple of hours with no relief I decided it could be appendicitis.  I went to the emergency room.  They gave me an abdominal CT scan preceeded by my swallowing liquid which allowed the organs to be more visible.  I was diagnosed by the doctor and by an attending surgeon with an unknown "mass" in the area of my small intestine.  I scheduled an appointment with that hospital's gastric surgeon, who examined the scan and felt the lump and concluded that it would have to be surgically removed, requiring the removal of a small part of my small intestine.  He said the lump was located in the connective tissue of my small intestine (mesentary) and could be either some form of cancer (he gave me three possibilities--lymphoma, Adenocarcinoma, or one other that I can't recall) or some sort of non-malignant tumor.  Either way he said it would have to be removed, so tomorrow I am scheduled for surgery.  I will post a follow-up to give you the results.

AH!! So many people seem to be having this im wondering if its even worth the worry. I too am thin and have recently lost about 14 pounds over the last 5 months. It has a pulse and is very bad after physical activity or a full meal. painful only when it moves or if i laugh while laying down. went through and found someone who was age 60 that has had it since the age of ten (male) and he has never got it looked at and it has stayed the same. he is also thin. hmmmm. nothing to worry i hope?

To follow up on my post of last week, I had the surgery to remove the mass. As it turned out, the mass was diagnosed as a fairly rare non-malignant growth called a Desmoid Tumor. Left unchecked, it can continue to grow at a sometimes rapid rate and cause problems to the nearby organs. Mine was removed, necessitating the removal of about a foot of my small intestine, with with the tumor was enmeshed. I'm recovering from the surgery, which occurred 6 days ago. I am sore and there is dicomfort in my abdominal area, not to mention a major disruption and slow recovery of my digestive functions. My take-away from this experience is that any time one has an unidentified lump anywhere on or inside their body, it is crucial not to assume the mass is normal or no big deal just because you've heard other people complaining of similar issues. Not all masses are created equal, and until you get yours checked out, it's not smart to make any assumptions about what it may be.

Hi, it would really help if I knew your gender because I am female, 15, and had this when I was 12. It turned out to be an ovarian cyst which had to be surgically removed - obviously if you're male, this does not apply, but if you are female, this is a possibility, as I was younger than you when I had it. It turned out to be completely harmless but pressed on my ovaries causing me pain, and if you feel period pain but more intensely than usual (and I mean doubled over with pain) , please go and see a doctor

I'm laughing because I have the exact same thing and was really worried about it... I always thought it might just be digesting food that's why I was never too worried about it and yes I am really skinny and always have been like everyone who has posted on here so I guess it's probably not anything to worry about?

I found this page a week ago. My symptoms are the same. I googled nephroptosis (floating kidney). I was seen today in the ER because of the pain. It was a push, but i got the doc to do an ultrasound while i changed positions. And guess what...... I have a floating kidney. I have been sick for 10 yrs, had every scan/every blood test/exploratory surgery, with no answers, allowing the docs to make me feel crazy. I'm so glad I didn't give up. No one should. Keep pushin your docs and be an advocate for yourself! Good luck

So im 17the uears old and I have this too! I was scared at first but then i did research and found out that many thin people get this! The reason is because of our thin bodies we can see and feel our bodies digesting! Its not bad at all so dont be scared! But dont mess with it too much, such as moving the ball/lump around because you can accidentally harm yourself! Hope I helped!(:

My doctor ordered an abdominal ultrasound but told me that it could be the abdominal aorta. Usually you don't feel it but if you're constipated, have gas build up, or have organ swelling it can be pushed out to where you would feel it. The "heartbeat" you feel is the aorta pulsing.
