Same problem as others here, mostly.
I started getting the symptoms of a sinus infection, so started the usual routine (Nielmed sinus rinses with double salt + regular spritzes of Peaceful Mountain Nasal Rescue).
But within a day, the bridge of my nose (mostly the left side) started to hurt like I had been hit in the face with a baseball bat. It's not red or visually swollen... but if you touch it, the left side definitely feels a little puffy. Also, my nose has also been very, very runny... but unlike any sinus infection I've ever had, it's just been a constant clear, thin mucus... like I have a cold. No pus or thick discolored mucus. Just a runny rose, extreme sensitivity to the touch, and occasional waves of excruciating broken-nose level pain.
I've been using ibuprofen 600MG tablets and icepacks to manage the pain... and I've been keeping up the sinus rinses and silver sprays (but those don't seem to be having much effect).
I'm going to urgent care tomorrow to see if they can't figure this out.
God, what should I do ?
i am pregnant and thus am immuno-suppressed. Last week I suddenly got a swollen nose that was extremely painful o the touch. It was accompanied by a runny (clear snot) nose. My nose was not red. Well my husband is an ear, nose throat doctoananda he had never seen anything like it before. my sinuses were fine. If my nose had been red, I would have been a clear indication of a bacterial infection, and that is important to treat immediately bc it can spread to the brain. Nevertheless, to stay on the safe side, he prescribed a z-pack. My problem cleared up almost immediately after starting the antibiotics , which has led him to conclude that it was indeed a bacterial infection. Hope this helps someone out there.
Just back from the doctor with all the same symptoms - sore, red, swollen, headaches, pressure behind eyes - feel awful, got temp and high bp...prob from temp - anyway said its acute sinusitis and on strong antibiotis and if no better in 48 hours i have to go back.....am off to bed for 48 hours!!! let ya know whats next if no better....
Oh wow. i have the same problem. it started on the left side of my nose. now it is on the right side. it is sore like someone hit my nose. it is swelled inside and red. it is also swollen inside my nose. i also notice that it is raw and has a dry scab in it. it really hurts. At first i thought something crawled inside my nose and bit me. when i look in the mirror, I can see that the tissue is swelled. my nose looks crooked from the swelling. Never had anything like this in my life.
Mine started on Friday evening - just became sore to the touch for no apparent reason. It 'moved' slightly over the bridge of my nose over the weekend to the point where both sides of the bit where the cartilage joins the bone, were tender and slightly reddened. By today (Wednesday) it was making me feel pretty sick so I went to see the doc who looked up my nose with a torchlightscopething and immediately confirmed that all of the blood vessels are swollen and there is significant redness. He has diagnosed Cellulitis and prescribed naseptin cream ;)
ME TOO. NO NOSE PROBLEM, BUT ITTITATED SIDE OF NOSE BRIDGE. GET GLASSES FIXED? But I'M DISABLED. LYN
Its the same for me...its aching, and I am still a kid!>:(
I read through all these posts. Wish I had seen them earlier.
These symptoms mimic sinusitis, but most likely is something quite different - it's craniofacial pain syndrome, almost always associated with TMJ.
The pain is felt at the bridge of your nose, behind the eyes, and often with tenderness in multiple areas in the face.
Treatment includes, relaxation, anxiety reduction, facial massage and heat compress, postural training, and breathing exercises.
