are you kidding? You can treat an ingrown hair yourself. And going to the emergency room for this is just stupid and a complete waste of the ER's resources. Do you really want people to be int line behind some illegal immigrant at the ER because some illiterate illegal is using the ER as a doctors office that they will never pay the bill on?

The reason you go to the doctor, is if you happen to treat it yourself, the blood and puss may go back into your blood stream and poison you to the point of death. Any REAL medical professional will tell you DO NOT MESS WITH IT YOURSELF. SEE YOUR DOCTOR. If it cannot wait, YES, go to the ER ...nowadays they have an URGENT CARE facility. Do not try to do it yourself. It can be dangerous.

And people that think like you are the reason everyone is going to hell now. No compassion.just so damn judgemental. People can go to the ER for whatever they want. If u don’t like it change your career option. I’m pretty sure they taught you that in school.

Ingrown hairs can turn into abscess. Which is then very painful and needs to be taken care of by a professional. They do in fact slit it open and drain it out because if not the infection can get into the bloodstream as said before. Realistically it would be better to go to a dermatologist however not all offices are open on the weekend so when someone is in a lot of pain and can’t even walk or sit then of course they’re gonna go to the urgent care to g t it taken care of. You’re no one to say if someone’s pain is insignificant.

So if you’re in unbearable pain go see a doctor and trey will take care of you.

I have had several of those before. I call them staph bumps bc for the life of me I cannot remember what the doctor called it. I usually get them after I workout or if I sweat a lot down there. I went to the urgent care for it and they told me that it’s a staph like ingrown hair. They prescribed me antibiotics and it eventually ruptured. They also told me to keep an eye on it and if i notice any red streaks in my thigh, to go to the ER immediately.

You are so obviously 11 years old and starting puberty. Please, leave this to the adults.
