I DO THE SAME THING AT WORK WE HAVE THE GOOD ICE I CALL IT SMALL ICE LOL I CANT STOP EATTING IT
I've been eating ice for 16 months, same as Ice Queen. It was suggested that I had iron deficiency or anema, so I had my doctor check. Nothing. I'm fine. I just apparently like to eat ice.
Also, a med I take causes dry mouth, and eating ice seems to take care of that problem a lot better than just drinking something.
You need iron pills. You are anemic.
well i am am ice chomper too. i am anemic and have been for a long time. within the last 3 years i have been eating more ice as my cycles have gotten worst. my friend that use to eat ice worst than me had a partial hysterectomy and hasnt eaten any ice. i only like the clear easy to chew ice. similiar to the ice at sonic. because of the ice chewing my fillings have come out. so now that i am going to get new ones put in i will have to stop eating the ice.
Just stop eating ice because my auntie is eat ice like it is a piece of chicken and know she is in the hospital and she been in there foe week just try to stop for your kids.
im a teen and am having problems with the ice crunching tingy too..........its been like 5 yrs nw since i have dis addiction....n wen i dont get it i feel distressed........i tried to control my self but it was useless......now am afraid if i continue if its gona affect my breathing or anything......help plzzz %-)
Sorry to correct you but, chewing ice doesn't cause anemia. Chewing ice is a symptom that there may be problems with iron in the body, not the cause of it.
I eat a lot of ice, I have seven trays i fill and I even have a favourite tray - how sad am i? I tried crushed ice but didn't find it as nice. All my family think its strange but I find it quenches my thirst.i also have anaemia ,I'm so amazed to find all of you with same addiction
I love ice eat a bag a day I hate the glassy kind also I understand
No need for me to put anything about my addiction, because you all covered EVERYTHING!! I love the frosty kind of ice as well. And I just want to thank you all for these posts. They really helped me out alot, and now I know that Im not the only one in the world struggling with this addiction.
I am anemic and I constantly chew ice. I crave it actually. I have always loved it, but I would say the last 3 years I have gotten to a point where I almost feel addicted! I have started with peri-menapause. Interesting to read comments here in regard to anemia. I will confirm with my Dr at my next check up if my ice addiction is tied to anemia. What would cause that I wonder and why? What benefit does your body get from it? I do take iron daily and eat what I would consider a healthy diet. But I do drink a TON of water too. Good to know...I am not alone!!! :)
I don't have this problem but looked the condition up when a new employeer who sits at the next cubicle has been eating ice constantly since she started a couple months ago. The continous crunch crunch crunch all freaking day is driving me insane. I wonder if she knows she has pica and an iron deficiency.
I have the same problem i chew ice & of lale i have been having back pain & pain on the left side. Did you get help on whether its linked to the ice problem? Please help!
Thanks
