Hey guys. I was searching the web to see if there were other cases of men with hair growing on the shaft of the penis. Glad to see all you guys sharing advice. Here's my experience...

I'm 22 years old and have dark hair growing up the shaft of my penis, predominantly underneath.

I am currently undergoing laser hair removal for the shaft of my penis (and my back)

I go to Bellair laser clinic located in Toronto, Ontario (Canada)

For what they label "the bikini are" which is my penial area, they are charging me a total of $600 - for 5 sessions.

I am considered a prime candidate for laser hair removal because for best results you must have fair skin and coarse dark hair. As we all know - light is attracted to dark objects. The contrast allows the laser to concentrate on the hair, going deep into the folicale, essentially burning it, which 'should' result in no more further hair growth.

The procedure can be rather painful at moments but is definately do-able. From what I have researched, it is perfectly safe to do laser hair removal on the penis and no medical studies have proven otherwise.

As far as results go - to be honest - I am seeing minimal results. I am getting good reduction along the lower end of my shaft where the hair is more dense. As far as the upper, it still remains populated with the stray hairs along the head of my penis; However, I am not surprised or dissapointed because the hairs are thinner and lighter, and it is only expected that the laser may not be able to affect them.

If anyone choses to do laser hair removal make sure you get a decent price. Do not compromise quality as it could lead to your penis getting burnt by an unqualified technician. Any laser hair removal company cannot guarantee that you will see ANY results as no one can forsee how your body will respond to the laser. Hair reduction from 65% - 75% is the goal with laser hair removal and the dream of having any area of skin as smooth as a baby's bottom will remain a dream for some.

Seeing as I have only put $600 towards this, once my savings recovers from spending the additional money on my back I might consider electrolysis if people claim better results. I dont know guys, I think this sort of hair removal will always be a battle for us. But as long as we share the most effective methods ... hopefully others like us can live a happy hairless penis life.

I'm 17 and I've been following this thread for a while...
I've wondered what this was as well, and it turns out it's quite common. Check out this wikipedia article you might find it helpful and reassuring. Also, it recommends a form of cream treatment which might be of use to some people.

It's all here>>>

I'm 17 and have a lot of hair on the shaft of mine too.

I'm saving up for electrolysis (have got quite a lot of the money, although don't want to spend it on that!). In the meantime, I want to pluck to keep the hairs unnoticable, but whenever I've plucked in the past, I always end up getting ingrowns a few days later.

Is there any possible way to pluck and prevent the hairs becoming ingrown?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

hey all. i have the same problem and have been plucking and shaving for several years, but its a real pain and as they grow back so quickly and its a constant job. I have been investigating electrolysis. a dermatologist told me this is safe (although he hadnt seen hair on the penis before). however recently I have been concerned that it may damage the nerves, artery/veins and tissue in my penis so that you can't get an erection.

Steve, what sort of discomfort and side effects did you get from electrolysis. Did you get any scaring? has your hair grown back now that you stopped doing it? How long did it last and are the hairs as course? anyone else that can shed some light on this with their experiences, please do!

Okay first of all...if you shave your pubic hair on the penis it doesnt grow any faster than it did before...thats not logical. The only reason you think this is because you notice changes when you check...i think shaving is okay, but just your time and do it gently. I too have the same problem and i am shaving and i dont see a problem.

doesn't plucking it hurt?

GOD U PPL ARE THICK ! first you can buy a kit that does this, you can get on that gets rid of single haires or one that gets rid of a little 5mm clump of them. the laser doesnt hurt at all and all id does is kill the hair cell. the hair will grow back a few times but u pluck them and eventually they stop growing! the laser cant be used around eyes so people with Di*k heads cant do this! LOL :!:

Ok, so, I'm 18 and have had this problem for years now - I've always hated it, and have tried everything that I can to get rid of it.

I've tried hair removal creams, plucking, shaving with a razor and so on.

Plucking doesn't work since it just gives you a sh*t load of ingrowns when they start coming back through, hair removal creams just burn you and make things worse, and razors were always my preferred method (if done properly), and NEVER go against the direction of hair growth, since that'll just give you ingrowns like plucking!

Since I've only just turned 18 and want money for other stuff, I've never been able to afford electrolysis or laser hair removal (wouldn't really feel comfortable doing that anyway!). However, I'm SO happy to say that I've found a way to get rid of the suckers!

I recently started reading reviews on the "Philips TT2030 Bodygroomer". Since it's only £40, I thought it would be worth a try, since I had read a lot of good reviews. Since I recieved it, I use it all the time and never suffer from ingrowns anymore. With this product, you have to shave in the opposite direction of hair growth, but it won't give you any ingrowns since it doesn't shave the way a razor does. It shaves so close to the skin so it's not noticable at all (even if you rub your finger against where the hair was, you won't feel anything, it will feel smooth), however it does begin to grow back after a couple of days. However, this can be used in the shower (i recommend using it whilst dry), so it's not a hassle at all to use daily.

I honestly swear by this product now, and even if you don't have a shaft hair problem, I would recommend this to any man as an essential hair grooming tool, it can be used anywhere!

This will sort hair problems out for all of you, and couldn't recommend it more. Honestly, read some reviews and I think you'll wanna buy one straight away!

There's the advert where I first heard about this product :)

Hope this post helps a lot of you :)

I find the best way is to use hair removal cream/shaving with a electric shaver, dont even think about waxing.. unless your completly numb in your genitals. Then i use this spray called Hair no more, but their are quite a few sprays like it so brand is up to you. You spray it on after you have shaved or whatever you do to remove the hair, and after some time of using it on a regular basis the hair will take ALOT more time to grow and if it does come back it will be thinner and less noticable, apparantly after some time of using the spray it can perminantly remove the hair if use regulary. Good luck gentlemen.

OK guys, Here's my 2 cents worth.
I'm 52 and have had a hairy penis forever. I started plucking them many, many years ago and for some reason I don't seem to have the problem with ingrown hairs some of you claim to get from plucking. I may get like 1 or maybe 2 a year, but that’s about it. The advantage of a nice smooth penis for days at a time is so much better for me anyways. It feels and looks so much better after plucking that now I've extended my plucking routine to include some area around my balls, but be careful, sometimes this area is a bit sensitive to the plucking. As for the pain involved in plucking them from my penis, I'm not sure if I have grown accustom to it or what, but I myself experience very, VERY little pain at all from removing the hair on my shaft.
Glad to hear I'm not alone in the battle. Hope my years of plucking can help someone else....

Hey guys! Going through the same issue! It's been about 8 years now! I guess there's no real fact on this topic so I guess I'll join the rest with my opinion and personal experience!...

I've done it all! .. I've gotten it lasered (750$ later).. I'll plucked.. I've waxed.. I've shaved... I've trimmed with a machine, I've even used creams.

Laser - was somewhat profitable.. though alot of money, it did work. My mistake was listening to the lady when she said.. "oh, if a few hairs grow in, just shave it.. it won't affect it at all"... LIES! it all grew back... soo if any of you do go through with laser.. and a few do come through.. PLUCK THEM!.. my mother was an electrolisis(sp?).. there is a difference between laser and electrolisis.. even though I did do laser.. I believe electrolisis would have been more better cause there's more focus on individual hair follicles rather than
laser which covers a set area... do some research but I should've went with electrolisis...

Waxing - isn't so bad.. more time efficient but not so good on the skin!.. when waxin, you make the shaft extremely sensitive due to that although you are removing hair, you are also removin skin (though you may not see it, you are..) which in turn causes extreme burning.. if you are in a desperate time.. quick waxin lesson.. do not apply the wax directly to the shaft.. apply it to the strip evenly and place the strip on the shaft.. be sure to wax in the opposite direction of the hair growth so that you do remove the root.. and be sure to make the skin tight and not loose. Please try and avoid this method...

Shaving - when I was younger (14 - 19) was amazing.. At first I had only a few hairs, and I figured why not.. You shave your sack, whats a few nicks at the top to freshen it up! STOPPPPPPPPP!!!!! Shaving is horrible! DO NOT get confused with this method.. I am all for shaving the sack.. but when it comes to the shaft.. DO NOT!.. Shaving does make the hair more coarse and the hair density is thicker... please, for the younger guys reading this.. DO NOT USE THIS METHOD!

Creams - are horrible!.. First off, a quick explaination of hair! If you don't know, hair is like a plant.. if you cut the plant at the right point, it allows for more vitamins and nutrients to flow through which in turns makes the plant grow longer and stronger.. the same applys to hair.. Just like shaving, if you keep cutting the hair or burning it ( which cream does ) .. you're only forcing you're body to seek ways of strenghening the hair.. or in other words.. thickening it... so just like shaving.. DO NOT USE THIS METHOD!

Plucking - is where it's at.. though extremely time consuming.. by far the best method.. when plucking, be sure to pluck the opposite direction of the hair growth so that you do remove the root.. this will have to be a continous process but by far the most efficient ( try setting up a routine, like 2 - 4 times a month on sundays).. I am now 24 years old.. and though I've spent a large amount of my teenage years depressed cause of this issue, I am finding myself more happy.

Trimming - is useful. It does not affect the skin, you avoid razor bumps (lil white bumps) and in-growns.. Personally, I'd rather a hairless shaft.. and my hair does grow all the way up.. To each their own on this method.

The problem with this issue is not everyone is the same. In my case, my skin is so sensitive that even after any method, my shaft burns for days ( getting better with time), and the hair tends to grow back before it stops so please don't take my methods as a direct solution, but rather a insight for your own!

As time goes on, if you continue to pluck, wax or get laser, you are killing off the hairs.. It is a long process.. it's quite unfortunate and seeming caused by circumsession(sp?).. but life's to short to be unhappy!... and for thoughs of you in my position.. I consider ourselves blessed.. cause all thoughs times that I could've slept with a random girl and stopped cause of my insecurity.. I've learned things in life.. Like patience and self-respect.. and I'm greatful.

Be confident.. Don't be scared.. I've been in a bubble my whole life and I am now ready to come out! and it's gonna be one hell of a party.. :-)

I just trim it with an electric razor every few days who cares if it is a thick hair I just maintain it every so often. Id say I have roughly 30-40 hairs on it (and a few of these hairs are located about 1/3 the way up my penis) and I usually keep it trimmed up and I have girls sucking on my penis all the time and not one single girl has ever said a word about it. And ive had girls sucking on it while there were hairs on it because I didnt freshen up and still not a single word they just gobble it down their throats and enjoy the penis. The moral of my story. As long as a girl has a penis in her face then a few hairs arent going to stop her from enjoying it.

I do suppose that for the dudes that have a field growing on their wilsons then I can understand this being a bigger problem.

I suppose I have thought about plucking them but f**k that my skin is sensitive. I tried plucking hairs that were growing out of the beardline on my face and I got scars on my face from it. It took like 4-5 months for the scars to clear up. I def wouldnt want to get scars on my beautiful penis so i wouldnt even try that sh*t. Plus it must hurt like a b***h. And normally I am cool with pain anywhere else on my body but man i like to keep my wanker pain free.

f**k electrolysis I wouldnt want a needle in my penis on a regular basis. And i dont think anyone does.

Laser sounds like the only reasonable method to solve the problem if someone is serious about it.

But then you have to think, does laser even eliminate the hairs all together or just make them thinner? Because making them thinner will just start the vicious cycle all over again.

I havent heard a single success story from anyone yet who did use the laser treatment. Does anyone have any? Because hey if it works then I would maybe consider it and not have to deal with trimming up my boy every few days, save myself some hastle.

For you little 14 year old boys who are self cautious about this problem suck it up trim up your boy when you are going to get lucky and enjoy common easy solution. Im sure you'd much rather lose your virginity then have a hair grow back just a little bit thicker.

:-| Hope I helped, Didnt mean to be too vulgar my apologies in advance if i did offend anyone Im just trying to be straight up you know.
