Hi,
I have a problem with my ankle/knee ligaments because of which I have recently developed this short-sharp-pulse -pain happen 5-20 times in a day while walking. I believe that its part of the ligament problem that I have in my ankle and knee. I am gonna consult the doctor and probably going to get my legs immobilized with bandages for a week or two, that should solve all these problems. I will update the outcome of the treatment soon. Take care guys.

i have chronic serious pain ALL of the time in every muscle and lower back. I have never had this type of unusual pain unless at the actual time of a broken bone but that pain starts and that's it until healed. I have pain in my left hip and have had for years. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia almost 20 years ago and in 2002 an unspecified autoimmune disorder. My Dr started testing me for Lupus in 1982. If you have Lupus SLE, you have Fibromyagia. Three days ago my lower back was hurting a lot more than normal. After going to bed I began having sharp, stabbing pain, most feeling like a needle had been pushed into my hip joint from the front side. Most times felt like an electrical charge was being shot through the needle. I had a Drs app the next morning, a 100 mile drive. Several times I thought i might slip of the road because of a pain episode. My Dr said it did not sound like nerve pain or referred nerve pain. He put me on Prednisone, 20 mg, for 5 days. A medium dose that does not need the extra wean off week. I knew if it worked I would see results in 6-8 hrs. I took it as soon as I got the RX at noon. After 4 hrs I had about 70% reduction in the stabbing/electrode pain. I had about 10 episodes on the 100 mile trip back. By bed time even less, but still had several bad goes of it in the night. I put a large Blue ice block on it for the night. I also took Aleve, AM PM and about midnight. Fewer episodes today-some bad-some not too bad but I believe the Prednisone will be able to take care of it within the 5 days. If not, I will go for scans.
I also have this. I am 45 and get a sharp stab of a pain every so often in one spot of my hip only. This only happens when I walk. I was diagnosed with femoroacetabular impingement when I was 19, which lasted for 6 months. I really hope it is not arthritis.
Did you ever find out what it was ?
I also had IT band pain. Until a different Doctor showed me a diffferent strength method for my legs. Lay on your side lift your leg up & down slowly. I did 3 sets of 10. Always do both legs. Then lay on your back. One at a time, lift your leg straight up slowly then down. 3 sets of 10.
Also stretch your IT band by laying on your back. Bend you knee towards you chest & put the other leg on top of your bent knee. You should feel that band stretching. Again do both legs. Also stretch your calf muscles and hamstrings too.
Good luck to you.

Go on utube and watch video about the psoas muscle. It is very informative, and shows how to get relief.
Have you found out anything? Ian experiencing the same
I am having the same issue with my right hip. Brought me to tears last night. Did you find anything out?
I have had the electrical stabbing pain off and on for 7 years and still not 100 percent sure what's going on only that no one can help me!! at first it was thought to be pain from bad gal bladder; it was removed and one year later had pain again. I've been to er many times for this and after blood and urine tests and ct , on my 6th visit a Dr finally gave me other areas to check. so off to gyno to look for cysts and that wasn't it. then mri. they found I had degenerative disc disease and tjis was thot to.be cause. well it wasn't. so I was sent to a pain specialist and his diagnosis was muscle injury. I was told to try physical therapy but after finding out it would cost 1000 I decides on mild yoga and stretching exercises and so far so good.
I am being evaluated for sharp hip pain myself and my doctor wants to rule out AVN. It can happen after injuries or it can happen spontaneously. It is progressive and it only gets worse. It can happen within other joints but the hip is most common. You should consider being evaluated for AVN too if only to rule it out as well.
Hi. I have been having the same pain mostly when I drive for 20 minutes or more. I fell a week ago but didn’t hit anywhere in the area I’m getting the pains (left front hip and joint). The day after the fall I had lower back pain on the same side as the hip pain. After a few days the pain in my back stopped and the hip pain started as if the pain shifted there. A few years ago when I was driving long distances often, I had similar pain in the same place but on my right side and realized that my thick wallet in my back pocket was the cause. I think the pain I’m experiencing not started not long after the ones caused by my wallet. I haven’t used a wallet since then so I’m not sure what is causing these pains.
When you said "At first, it did not happen very often and it was mild." this part, I was reminded of the similar distress I had a few months back. I went through many stretching and chiropractic adjustment videos. This caused me to be hopeless but i came to see this program ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** posting of web addresses is not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use. I can play basketball again and swims most of the week. ^_^
How did you know it was a hernia? I’ve been having pain with my hip, really bad at this particular time I’m asking and I found a lump in my abdomen that I think could be a hernia(seen quite a few doctors and only got the run around, ex. “ oh well I’m this kind of ‘specialist’, you need to see this other doctor... *see suggested doctor* well I don’t know why you’re here you need to go back to the other doctor... etc.”) and wasn’t sure if the sudden intense hip pain could be related or not..
That's the craziest thing I've ever heard of. That's fecal matter and it also poisons in it. It's the reason your body excretes it
I see this is a year old, but would really like to hear how you are doing. I had a similar pain in my right
buttock. Finally found a Dr that knew exactly what is was and put a cortisone injection in the S/I joint.
Felt better right away. It has been 6 to 8 months ago and it is still good. Maybe your Chiro could help
you out!!!
