I was on the Dr. Bernstein diet from April 2016 to Dec 2017. I lost over 120 pounds in that time. it's now July 30, 2018 and i'm very embarrassed and sad to say that i've already put on 50lbs. I can't say if it's the diet or me. clearly i'm a big part of my weight gain problem, but the diet was so restrictive that when I went onto the maintenace program it was like I had never seen food before and simply could not control myself. Now, my diet is terrible, worse then where i was before i went on this diet. It's a great diet to lose weight quickly but i dont think it's a realistic 'maintenance".

I had returned to Dr Bernstein at least 4 times in a ten year period. I was always successful in my weight loss. I was seen each week a least 4 times and saw Dr Anderson on one occasion . I told each nurse I was drinking up to 7 litres of water a day and they all said "great". Then my face swelled from too much water consumption and I questioned if my drinking water excessively had a negative effect on my lack of weight loss, as I only lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks. I wrote a letter outlining my concerns , especially at the disregard from both doctors and nurses at drinking too much water. I asked Dr Bernstein to take accountability for not forewarning me that I was drinking too much water, and asked for a 2 week compensation. Two days later I got a call from a nurse stating my letter was escalated to Dr Bernstein and I was barred from the program. This is the way I was treated after not just being a customer, but referring many to the Dr B program. My advise to all is try Dr Poon before trying this program. It is free and just as effective, and they don't shut you out when you question their mistakes and conduct.

I just had a full Hysterectomy two months ago and I am only 41. How long after such surgery can I start Dr. Bernstein's diet? I am 30 lbs over my target weight.

I've done the diet and it works, but unless you do the maintenance for a year, you will gain all the weight back and MORE. It's basically 50ml of B6/B12 injections for $400 (that's the new at-home program which is cheaper). I tried doing a healthy diet + HIIT exercise and took B12(methylcobalamin) sublingual daily instead; worked better than the Dr. B diet. Healthy weight loss, no cravings, built healthy eating and activity habits. It became a lifestyle rather than a diet. I would not recommend for anyone who is not already morbidly obese and needs a good headstart to weight loss.
