Smoking pot after surgery can be quite dangerous after surgery. I did and the surgical site became infected because pot weakens the immune system. After the infection I was prescribed antibiotics but continued with smoking pot. I also found out that pot doesn't allow antibiotics to work because the thc in weed bonds to the fatty area of the white blood cell instead of antibiotics. I then had to take stronger antibiotics because my body developed tolerance to weaker one. Thank God I stopped blazing....

You must feel kind of silly now. Legalization is happening all over the us now. If you did any research you would realize why the plant lead to becoming illegal in the first place and also why now it's legal. Definitely not for everyone's usage but as of now zero people have died from this plant. Smoking in general is not great for the body however neither is caffeine, sugar, etc etc What I suggest in life is moderation.

I don't smoke marijuana but am seriously considering it next week after my surgery to help with the pain and being able to sleep! I am not looking for a battle between right and wrong I just need opinions on whether it may help me (a non smoker) or not!?????

clearly you dont know anything abbout marijuana :P

marijuana does not have additives unless you are smoking the wrost of the worst of the WORST.

claerly you've never bought weed because it comes in plant form. you cant cut it like people do with cocaine.

weed is not addictive. rofl. hardcore stoners stop for months when they need to pass a drug test with no problem at all other than a little more boredom maybe.

weed doesnt have effects on hormone levels. this is a myth.

weed is illegal for no reason other than it is a mind altering drug that people used to not understand. its getting more and more understood, and low and behold, more states are legalizing it!

You are a stupid f*****g m***n.

I just had a gastric sleeve done about 4 days ago so my stomach is shaped like a banana now. Would you be ok if I smoked pot? I have been smoking for about 20 years now.

No pain or anything? Did they give you medicine for your surgery? Did you take those the day you smoked?

How thick are you?

You have no idea what you're talking about. Nor can you type, or spell.

Does marijuana help with easing pain and having a peaceful sleep? Yes. Would it help with easing your pain? Yes. Have I tried it myself? Yes. Every night before bed. If you're a non smoker then just be careful with what you get. Weed is similar to alcohol. You get weak weed and you get strong weed. You might want to start off with the lighter stuff and slowly work your way up until you know what your limit is. Coughing is caused by the hot smoke. If using a bong it'd be easier to inhale if you use ice cold water instead of normal tap water.

You aren't supposed to smoke anything after a surgery. This is not based on opinion - it is based on scientific information. And if that isn't enough for you - I'm the id**t who smoked anyway after a surgery and it took me 4x as long to heal, I even had to get on steroids. You want to be an id**t like me, go ahead and argue about why pot works or does not work for anxiety and pain management - and screw yourself over. Or realize that, sometimes you just can't have what you want and have to wait. I hate not smoking, I have terrible anxiety and it is the fastest acting anxiety medication out there - by far. I get panic attacks that more than one doctor has told me "this is the worst I have ever experienced with someone" and yet -- I just had oral surgery today and I am going to stay away from it for a week and let myself heal. In advance I went to the doctor and got xanax, and I told the doctor who did my surgery that I had a bit of a tolerance to pain pills - I am cycling xanax, ibuprofen, and noco - all under doctor supervision. I have had a couple of small attacks but nothing major.

You will put it down - don't let your stubbornness and need to be right make you get really sick. I really hope I am not going to get attacked for this - yes it is just my opinion but I have been there and I really kicked my own a** when I did it - I don't want to see you make the same mistake.
