These are the symptoms I currently have. I have never had cold sores or strep throat. I am waiting for the results of the swab. Do you know if the initial viral reaction is the worst one? Does it always reoccur?
I've had this same issue since when I was 17, I'm now 33. It seems it always comes around certain times of the year...seasonal changes.
Since I've first gotten this, doctors had no clue what the hell it was...strep, mono, herpes...even the herpes tests came back negative, but that must have been a mistake because I get cold sores.
The good news is, as I get older, the pain and severity are not as bad as it once was. I used to be physically incapable of doing anything while going through this, for at least 2 weeks.
In my case, this sickness starts with a cold sore on my outer lip, and a bit of tiredness and body aches. I try to blast my body with loads of valtrex and hope for the best, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Usually, the the fatigue, fever, body aches, malaise, and general over all feelings of unwellness, almost like a depression lasts for around a week. After a week of feeling like trash, that's when the mouth sores start. It usually starts on the cheek and the gums...one or two sores. Then in a few days, the gums swell, the cheeks swell, and it's painful to swallow, let alone eat anything. I have a very high tolerance for pain, but this is sometimes unbearable.
When I was younger, the docs would just give me valtrex, prednisone, magic mouth wash, and suggest a bunch of Advil. Nothing would help once the virus is in, it just has to progress. The only thing you can do is manage your pain and discomfort.
Theres been times when the pain was so bad, I would just wish I was dead. 24/7 oral fire pain doesn't allow any sleeping or eating. As I got older, I said screw it, I'm asking the doctor for a narcotic medication, such as Vicodin to deal with this. I can't eat, sleep, talk, or swallow my own saliva.
So that's how I deal with it, I let it run it's course and just take a few REAL pain meds for a week or so until I'm healed up. I wish I would have spoke up sooner when I was younger. Vicodin is the way to go. There is no cure for this, you just have to deal with it until it's gone and try to catch it with antiviral a before it takes hold.
Gold luck everyone, this disease sucks!
For some reason, my herpes test always came back negative, although I have cold sores....
This sickness moves in a cycle...bad, a little better, very bad, a little bit better, then boom, it hits hard.
It always reoccurs. For me, during changes of the seasons. Or if I've been partying too much or not enough sleep.
You'll keep getting it. Especially when you party too much, get too much sun, or too little sleep. It is apparently a type of herpes. Once it starts, it just goes until it's done. Just make yourself as comfortable as possible. The only real way to still function with the oral/ throat sores is through a strong pain reliever, such as codeine or Vicodin. Advil, alieve, does not work for me at all. I've been to plenty of docs and they usually have no idea what it is and just give me a bunch of stuff.
Valtrex only helps if you catch it super early. Prednisone really doesn't help me, but I take it anyway. It's not bacterial, so no antibiotics. I just sleep, eat soft food, try to not work and take my Vicodin until my body clears itself of this. I usually get it bad once a year, twice a year tops.
these all happens due to bacterial effect cleansing of your's mouth comes into picture here so gums problems and swollen gums and other are mainly due to food particles that remains for long in yours teeth ,so clean teeth properly and consult to dental doctor for more effective result
i have the same thing to a point all of it, its crazy.... i wanted ask you did you find out if was just strep? and what did you have to do to get over it
great just started my penicillin treatment day before yesterday. I have at least 6 blisters on my lips 3 on my tongue, swollen bleeding gums, still occasionally have fever and chills and what appears to be strep throat.
Me too, this after other flu/cold symptoms for over a month. Even my teeth hurt!! Does lysine help???
You may suffer from sever fever, use panadol extra.
For the gingivitis, better to use home made saline as a mouthwash. If it has been painfull the do not brush as it will bleed. You may softly remove the biofilm.
It is not a simple case. You should give more care to it.
