Strange throbbing/ pulsing in my thigh just above knee

I have an unusual heavy pulse in my left inner thigh just above my knee for the last couple of days. It isn't painful, but it is a little alarming. It goes in and out irregularly. It's like a quick little quiver, in rythym with my pulse. What is this, and should I do something!?!

I think it's because of unhealthy diets and being overweight. It happens a lot when I drive.

I'm 13, do a lot of sport and eat pretty healthily and it only seems to occur whenever I'm in bed getting ready to sleep. I'm guessing it's because, as people have said, your muscles are tired from usage throughout the day so they need to sort of 'recharge' ASAP to get ready for further usage, which leads to a form of an accelerated circulation of blood in that area to speed up the process. Just a theory I thought of, but it seems like it could be true.

I've had the exact same thing. Any diagnosis?
I've been having this for a year or two. According to the mighty Internet, low potassium levels may be the cause of the incessant twitching. It is a constant throbbing a little bit to the left above my right knee, but it doesn't hurt. It just annoys the penguins out of ya. ;)
My recommendations: eat a lot of bananas and search up foods with high potassium levels. You can also try massaging it.
I have this since many years. It happens in lower thigh just above the knee. Sometimes it happens in arms as well. The cause seems to be totally mystery still. Sometimes i am totally sedentary but sometime i regularly exercise. And I have experienced this twitching/spasms at both times. Now a days (since last 2 years) i regularly workout, but still get it. Yesterday evening I was sitting at home with my laptop in my lap and all of a sudden it started in my right thigh. It was so intense that my laptop started kind of bouncing - I mean it was so strongly felt. After that i went to gym as usual and forgot about this, and I guess it did not occur later at night. Now (next day) its noon and suddenly i started feeling that sensation again. It wasn't there until I thought about it - strange.
do any of you smoke cigarettes?
i have the same thing happening on the right side of my right leg, it is freaking me out. my mom says its just my heart beat but i dont think your heart beat should be in your leg .
i have a bruise where it is happening, does anyone else?
i dont, im only 14 and this is happening
It may be a twitchy nerve, muscle or even your pulse, You have huge arteries that carry the blood from your heart down to your toes, and from those it leads into smaller veins, so it is quite plausible as your mum has said that it may be your pulse, especially if you are sitting in a position putting pressure on the vein, it needs to pump a little harder to get around.
I have the same pulsing/throbboing around my left kneecap that many have mentioned. Just returned from the doctor's after dealing with it for nearly 2 weeks. He said it was just a twitching muscle, used a medical term for it, but compared it to an eye that twiches. So everyone can relax:)
