Strange throbbing/ pulsing in my thigh just above knee

I have an unusual heavy pulse in my left inner thigh just above my knee for the last couple of days. It isn't painful, but it is a little alarming. It goes in and out irregularly. It's like a quick little quiver, in rythym with my pulse. What is this, and should I do something!?!

Dehydration might be an issue. Make sure No soda at least nothing dark. Drink half your body weight in oz daily.
Same thing here. I timed mine and its every 5 to 6 secs, last about 3 secs. Its very annoying. I have it in both kegs and it is not in sequence. Lasts for hours and then goes. But the break doesn't last long and then it starts again. Surely someone has an idea. Do any Drs ever read this since my Dr doesn't have a clue.
I agree with UK-GWG, because I too, started experiencing the very same pulsing to my left leg, inner thigh, right above my knee, and I have never experienced this before. It doesn't hurt, however, it is just continuing to pulse. I sure hope it's nothing to worry about, but I do want to see my PHP, as I have also have high blood pressure and want to know if it may be related at all.
I'm experiencing the samething and I'm worried it might be what is called venous thrombosis or narrowed vein with risk of someday a clot breaking off causing severe stroke or heat attack or other embolism. I'm going to see a doctor maybe in a few days.
*hypochondriac here* when I searched "twitching muscle in thigh" the VERY first thing that came up was Lue Gerhrigs Disease. My great grandmother had that when I was younger so I'm very hyperaware of little things (like not being able to get the gas cap off my car sometimes) so when that came up I FREAKED. But it seems like what I'm experiencing is much more like what everyone is explaining on here! Phew!
Mine is exactly the same!
A lot of people are saying you have a blood clot but that is not it. If it is throbbing you have nothing to worry about but if it swells and you are in pain then you should go see a doctor. The throbbing could be caused from your muscles twitching. I have that same thing but it is nothing to worry about. But if you see swelling or you are in pain then go to a doctor as soon as you can!
My husband has just today complained of a throbbing in his thigh above the knee. It has continued for over an hour. Should we be concerned? Could it be a blood clot. He hasn't done any activity to cause any muscle stress.
I qas wondering about this as I had it occur after pulling am alnighter painting. As I have Hughes Syndrome and have had a large DVT I admit I was more worried. The 'zing' as I describe it goes when I am very active. I am wondering if my condition is linked as for 30 years my mother complained of feeling 'zing" like feelings in various limbs and she has a mild form of lupus and aspergillosus.

Hi guys, I've had this exact thing and this forum helped me to not panic that I was dying when it first started... Mine lasted for 3 weeks and was almost constant... Looked like a heartbeat or baby alien kicking near my knee at irregular pace almost constantly. I am 27 male and healthy... Went to the doctor and all my bloodwork was normal. I do have varicose veins on that leg but the doctors weren't convinced that it was related. My doctor thought it might have to do with working out... I usually work out twice a week lifting weights/running. Anyway, after 3 weeks it suddenly stopped. I hope yours does too! My doctor did not seem concerned about it and said it should eventually go away, and it did. hope this helps! You're not dying!
Also, forgot to mention that it did start up briefly in my other leg too but only for a very brief period. P.S. It is comforting to be able to google search "heartbeat in knee" and have this forum come up and know that you're not the only one who has this!
Been experiencing this in the past few days. Felt like a heart beat just above my knee and i could see my leg twitching/throbbing. It's not painful at all and i found it rather funny. Was told that it was most likely from strenuous exercise, which makes sense because I've been going to the gym every day for the past couple weeks and my body isn't used to it. It's completely fine and nothing to be worried about.
Hello. I've been experiencing the same throbbing in my thigh just above my knee and it is causing me to worry. Any diagnosis?
