listen, suboxone is the worst thing ever!!! the ONLY way to get off suboxone with minor Withdrawls is to DO EXACTLY WHAT I JUST DID!!!! The MISTAKE DOCTORS CONTINUE TO MAKE IS….PRESCRIBING SUBOXONE TOO LONG!! Did you know SUboxone 8mg pill or tab is 30 X’s stronger than a 30mg Oxycontin pill!!! You need to find an addiction DOC that will prescibe you Suboxone 2mg sublingual tabs along with Clonidine (amazing for helping with sweats, chills, and anxiety. Also go buy a B complex vitamin, L-Tryrosine, 5-HTP, & fish oils. The ONLY way to get off suboxone is the following….
1. Ist off…plan on when your stopping your opiates and wait at least 14 hrs to start your 1st Suboxone. Once your in moderate WDs take your 2 Sub tabs 2mgs…wait an hour and take 2 more 2mg tabs! Later that day do the same thing in the evening! SO NOW YOU HAVE 16MGS IN YOU TO KNOCK OUT YOUR OPIATES FROM YOUR RECEPTORS! drink tons of water throughout day! You can take the Clonidine (half a pill) anytime you need it to reduce your sweats, chills, and anxiety! its works great but no more than 3 whole pills throughout the day!!
2. The next day take 2 subs 2mg (4mgs) in the morning and only 1 in evening! drink lots of water and try and eat bananas for potassium! you will feel much better by this evening cuz most of your receptors are now takin over by the strong suboxone! take clonidine whenever you need it!
3, The 3rd day only take 2mg in morning, lunch, and 1 in evening! take your B vitamins in morning with your fishoils and L-tyrosine. continue to take clonidine when needed and take your 5-HTP at night to help sleep! FYI…the 5-HTP and L-Tyrosine both help build back good seritonin levels to your damaged receptors!
4. Now continue to take all your vitamins, fish oils, L-tyrosine, and ALeve (if needed for any achy pain) each morning for the next week and a half. the trick to getting off the subs with little WDs is to start NOW TAPERING down to….
Day 4 and 5: sub 2mg in morning and 2mg sub at night Day 6 and 7: sub half a 2mg in morning and half 2 mg at night Day 8 and 9: sub half of a half in morning (.5 mg) and half of half (.5mg) in evening Day 10 and 11: just a sliver (.3 mg) in morning (you may feel a little weird at moments in day but it PASSES..take you clonidine when needed! just be strong and you will make it 24 hrs to your next sliver! Day 12: make your self only take one sliver if needed but try and hold off as long as you can! i got to 31 hours with out a sub at this point. Day 13: see if you can now get through a day and a half till you take another sliver of a 2mg sub tab! Day 14 and 15: dont take anything but your clonidine and vitamins! oh yeah…Imodium works awesome for sh**s..lol! and make it so you meet with your DOC on the 15th morning and he will put you on non narcotic blockers and medicines to help with any WDs!! After 4 or 5 days of NO Subs… meet with your Doc again for a Vivitrol Shot…unreal!!!! your now feeling awesome! Listen…the ONLY reason you keep reading the MANY HORROR stories from sub WDs is ONLY bc you cant be on it more than 2 weeks and also have to do an aggressive TAPER down to nothing on the 14th and 15th! anyone who stays on subs for longer will feel harder WDs the longer you stay on this POWERFUL drug…Suboxone! almost everyone takes way too much suboxone for too long! subs are so STRONG you really only need a little bit after Day 3 or 4 and you should aggressively do as little as possible to get through your day but the more aggressive you are tapering the easier it will be on day 14 and 15 and so on!!!! ONLY get 2mg sub tabs and slowly keep weening off till your on nothing for 2 days at very end!!
IT 100% WORKS CUZ I DID IT AND CAN TELL YOU AFTER OTHER FAILED SUBOXONE ATTEMPTS TO GET OFF OF…YOU HAVE TO ONLY DO IT THE WAY I SHOWED ABOVE! I hope this helps someone out there who hasnt jumped on subs for too long or are about to begin subs!!! good luck my friends!

I have a question for u. I started subboxon treatment about 3 years ago. Was taking 8mg 3x a day n now I'm down to 2mg 1x a day. trying to come down off the subboxon on my own....slowly. My dr just resently told me that there not going to b treating subboxon patients anymore so since I'm on such a low dose I wanted to get off the stuff. Is it hard to come down off of it after being on it for a few years cuz I really donn't want to have to find another dr I'd rather just stop?

I want to know exactly how long it takes to come off suboxone and how bad the withdrawals are. I know my neighbor is coming off them and it's already been a week and his withdrawals are horrible so I am terrified to come off them.

Hi I have been on suboxone for about 3 years now n I have been slowly trying to come down. I started taking 2 8mg pills a day n now I'm down to a 2mg film a day. My last dr apt he told me that they weren't going to b taking suboxone patients anymore n he recommended that I come down off of it since I'm on such a low dose. I have 1 more script left to get at the end of the month n that is it but I don't want to feel bad I work n I don't want to feel as bad as I did when coming off methadone. I thought about going to my reg dr n trying to get something to ease the withdrawal symptoms while I'm coming off of it. What do u think?

I am trying to learn about all of this as my bf has been on the methadone program for 4 yrs and one would think they would have been weening him down by now. The withdrawals are horrific so i started researching. It sounds like Subotex is something worth looking into. Does anyone know if it is available in Canada?

I just want to say that you can always take more if your dose doesn't work.....the less you take the easier it will be to taper down in the end...that being said I have tapered off of suboxone before successfuly and with out to much discomfort....I did however smoke grade A weed the whole time to help me sleep and eat.....I think eating the whole time helped speed up the process a lot.......u guys can do it......if I did anybody can......good luck all

I was on suboxone for a year. And i am now 1 month sub free, and its awesome. I wanted this for a long time and i finally did it. It did take a lot of mind over matter and determation to overcome this. I spent monts researching and alot of it. I wanted to know what I was going into and what I could do to make it through. When I started researching I found nothing but horrible experiences that scared me and i felt completely doomed. I couldnt imagine what it was going to be like, everyone was saying it was worse then opiate w/d and they felt like this for weeks, or they couldnt sleep, all the fears of a w/d an opiate addict could imagine was to be expected. For 2 months i kept researching and it mentally destoryed me to think what I was about to go thru, and i kept fearing the worse and prolonging my sub free life, until i read a sucess story about tapering. After reading about how to taper from subs it totally made sense to why some many people were having these horrible experiences. The answer was out there they just needed to dig deeper and they could of completely avoided this torture we call w/d. Going cold turkey from 1 mg or higher will bring you into w/d. 1mg sounds like nothing but the problem at hand is suboxone has a life span up to 72 hours, so you might feel completely fine day 1 -3 of cold turkey but after that w/d WILL come into play and thats where our worst nightmare begins. And not only is w/d an addicts biggest fear but relasping as well, you have come so far but w/d makes you do crazy things at the moment, but do you really want to bury yourself again into addiction? so lets do this and get it over with. I gave myself 2 months to prepare, In November I went and saw my doctor for the last time I told him i wanted off so he prescribed clonodine and bendyrall. If you cant get either dont freight I did the research for that too. VITAMINS i no that sounds ridiclous but they really helped especially if you take them regularly BEFORE tapering so your system has them locked in. Vitamn B, Vitamin B-12, Vitamin C. Your going lack a bit of energy not alot where you feel fatigue but just a little less then normal. B-12 helps but L-Lysine is meant for energy get 500mg. And melatonin 5 mg is a sleep vitamin. Its a natural horomone in the body already so its non habit forming but it works like a charm. Stay away from nyquil sleep or tyneol pm.. they actually made me have a restless sleep, but everyone is different. Also drink alot of water, I mean ALOT. The more water you drink the more your purifying your body. Get smartwater it has electrolytes, it helps. Now I no restless leg syndrome is what worries alot of people and i am one of them. Its what I dread the most. sometimes laying in bed i could be perfectly fine and the thought of rsl would cross my mind and all of sudden i would start to feel it in my legs. What do we call that.. not w/d just your mind messing with you! Mind over matter is a tricky thing but this also part of the process of preparing. So if your like me and have done this to yourself or your are experiences rsl take a hot hot shower right before. I would 2 melatonins right before a shower (it takes 30 mins to kick in) and also 2 mortrins. Sit the hot shower/bath and just relax for 20 mins. I would strech, and also keep my feet elevated up so blood can circulate. After 20 mins youll feel relaxed and ready for bed, hop out and go straight to bed. This helps awhole lot. The tapering method works best if done slowly. I would say a minimum time length for a taper from 2mg is about 3 weeks. The second week of November i was taking my vitamins daily and taking 2 mg sub daily. Im going to write down my schedule:
Nov 4-10: vitamins daily, lots of water, 2mg daily
Nov 11-17:vitamins daily, lots of water, 1 mg daily
Nov18-24: vitamns daily, lots of water, 1 mg EVERY OTHER DAY
Nov 25-30: 1/2 EVERY OTHER DAY
Now that I was taking 1/2 a sub every other day it was time to start letting the life span of a sub die out. Your body creates habits after 21 days, so you must train it. And if your also letting your body and mind adjust to lower doses and getting use to being normal. Let the sub lifespan die out but skipping days in between lower doses is the safest and best way to avoid discomfort and w/d. If you have a one sub film/pill left cut that up into tiny tiny pieces you'll feel better knowing that you have plenty of tiny peices to take over a period of time then just one pill to take.
Dec 1-8: 1/2 every 2 days
Dec 9-15: cut your 1/2's into quarters and take a quarter every 2 days
Dec 16-22: quarter every 3 days
dec 23-29: continue with a quarter for every 3 days
by now your body should be use to what little of subs your giving it and the lifespans should be dying out
dec 30-jan 5: try not taking anything after on day 4 and see how you feel, if you feel fine wait till day 5, and if your still feeling fine then your good to go! I didnt even notice crave a sub that after day 5 i realzied i didnt take anything i was so happy that i finally did it and this whole time i thought it was going to be horrible. tapering is the best method you dont have to do it exactly my way but however you do jus taper smartly! i had to tell my story bc there are more horror stories out there then comforting stories. Addiction is a whole experience and anyone who has gone thru it knows you need postitive words to help you push thru it. So please do your homework and find what method of tapering works for you and your situaition. I promise you, you can do this in a gentle way. And from one addict to another the high i get from sober living and knowing i beat this on my own and can live to tell about it beats any other high.

I am currently on 5 mil's of Suboxene. I started with 12 mil's in September 21, 2012. It is a Life saver for me. I was addicted to Codiene, Oxycontin, Morphine, and at one time Cocaine but haven't used coke for 4 yrs..........I am truly grateful for Suboxone, I have a "new" life. My husband and children have their mom and wife back. I wouldn't want to ever go back ro using again.
