OMG you're the first person I've ever seen that had the same exact symptoms I have I not only have those excruciating headaches during bowel movement but also during orgasm and sex. As a matter of fact the very first time ever happened was during a fairly arduous and active intimimate time with my honey . But the kicker is I too suffer from severe back and neck pain and actually had low back surgery and neck surgery and have plates and screws in my neck and had a discectomy and laminectomy. And my lower back they did a microdiscectomy. I personally think it's related to my back and my spine in some way because it's only when I'm putting pressure or bearing down in the pelvic region does it happen which makes me think it's my lower back. Anyone else experiencing these headaches during sex or orgasm?

I had been using a nasal spray for blocked nose. Stopped using that, and gradually got better. May have been coincidence. My doctor had no idea what was going on. I hope it never returns. A friend wondered if the spray had affected my vagus nerve.

Ask your doctor if you could be having 'cluster headaches'. They are debilitating headaches that are associated with a vagal nerve response and often occur upon urination or a bowel movement.
I deal with this same issue maybe 10 times a year. My stomach starts hurting sooooo bad, I have soft bm, and i get the worst throbbing headache, start sweating and feeling clammy. I always think I'm going to die!! I'm 37 year old female, not over weight, run everyday, I've had 4 kids, and I had my gall bladder removed several years ago. My stomach used to be my only issue but within the last 2 years my headaches have started

I get the same thing headaches in throbs in the back of my head. I had my gallbladder removed to. I keep having to poop but when I do my head starts hurting again
I do! My problem with these sexual migraines started at least 10 years ago. Now I get these headaches during bowel movements, even when not straining. I'm celibate, so no worries with the coital migraines, but now these same headaches when having a BM. They start at the base of my skull and work their way up. They are debilitating. Does anyone have any answers? I never had headache or migraine problems before these started. HELP!
I took my blood pressure immediately afterwards and it was normal.

I don't know if you will see this but as you said I also have dealt with headache s and migraines of all sorts and tonight after a shopping trip I had to go to the bathroom I sat down and BOOM this intense pain shot to the left side of my head and lasted it felt like two mins and then went behind my left eye!! I tried to finish going to the bathroom but I broke into a terrible sweat and had to go to my fiancé and tell him what had happened it scares me beyond belief I have never ever had such pain throughout all my migraines !!! There was no sensitivity to light and sound it just felt like my eye was bulging out of the socket after the awful pain in the side of my head! I'm shocked the doctors seemed so nonchalant with you! I'm 32 and I am gonna make a doc appt tomorrow am because this scares me severely bad and even now which may be an hour later I still have a slight pain on the left side of my head
Might want to ask doc to check for diverticulitis
I get the same thing. I looked up aneurysm as well why did you decline a spinal tap? I've had one and there's no problem with it it doesn't hurt doesn't take that long, I would do it if I was you.
I had these same headaches for years. Sometimes I would get them every time I had a BM, then they would go away for months or up to a year. I have had CT scans, yet every doctor just says they are migraines. I felt they didn't understand how painful they were. I would feel my head throbbing with every heartbeat. The first time it happened I was 33 and thought I was having a stroke or anyeurism and went to the ER. The only remedy I have found is to lower my chin all the way to my chest before the pain begins. Ever since I have tried this I have not had a headache return and it has been an enormous relief! I hope this works for someone else because it took me 4 years to try this, after hearing this suggestion from another person that suffered from the same thing.
I went to ER last week for same thing..2 CT scans, MRI/MRA and Spinal tap, a 3 cm benign brain tumor was found, but neurologist does not feel that is causing the headaches, put me on highly addictive pain meds and sent me home and i have to follow up..Headaches keep coming..Wish we could get answers..
Sudden diarrhea with tiny shots of pain hitting through the top of my head. Lingering residual pain in my head where first waves hit.
Was scared that I may have been having an anourism. Looked up the symptoms and thats how I found this blog. Interesting to see so many other people this is happening to. Scarey that no one has any answers even after extensive testing.
Really afraid of this happening again....
