I can relate to all these posts...I have experienced these same symptoms and they seem to be happening once a month. I just had one an hour ago, very scary since I was alone. It does subside, but leaves me feeling week in arms and a little in chest for about an hour. This time, it made me look it up on the computer, and was thankful to see that others have experienced same symptoms. It is quite scary since it comes on so rapidly.

I'm male, age 60. I've had the same symptoms...sudden fatigue in my arms .. .mostly the underside of my upper arms...kind of a radiating feeling. I have to just collapse and not move for a few seconds. It doesn't last long, but feels like it would be dangerous if I didn't quickly relax. The first time it happened I thought of how they describe tingling in the arms as a precursor to stroke or heart attack....I think I have the stroke part wrong. And it's not really a tingling. For me it feels like my veins are clogged...really feels like it's more in the veins than in the muscles. But it definitely feels like fatigue. I see a lot of people in this thread with these symptoms, but no one on here seems to know what it is.

the way i see it ,if we live good for 120 years with this issue we can seem to live with it....i think we all will just get used to it i read a girl age 30 on here has this.....i,m 72 and the symptoms are only like 2 months going with like 2 episodes of about 2 seconds in a day and sometimes not for a few days....someone mentioned low salt as a culprit and i'm thinking maybe high salt if at all.

I have the same symptoms in my right arm, right leg and chest sometimes I break out in a sweat and get the shakes. As soon as I sit down it passes. The worse episode I had I was wearing a heart monitor and it did not register any activity on the monitor so I know it is not my heart. I also bought a diabetic test meter thinking maybe my blood sugar might be dropping suddenly since I was having the sweats and shaking symptoms but my sugar levels were normal during the episodes. The majority of the time these episodes happen when I get up to walk, but occasionally they will happen while I am sitting. This has been going on since 2012 and it is now 2019. Episodes sometimes last a day, sometimes a week, sometimes a month. I have gone as long as a year with no episodes at all then all of a sudden they will start up again. I have never discussed this with my doctor, but after googling the symptoms after my most recent episode and seeing all the possible diagnosis' I think it is time. Not to scare anyone this is what I found. All ate pretty serious with the exception of one.
1. Guillaian-Baire syndrome
2. Myasthenia Gravis
3. Myeloma
4. ALS
Last, and lest serious psoriatic arthritis.

I just read through all these posts and I have the same symptoms. Has no one ever had a real diagnosis or successful treatment. While I know I'm not alone in this, I do feel a sense of hopelessness if all these people have had hundreds of doctors and medical tests and there are no answers.

I am a 60 yr old female and while cleaning and vacuuming out my car this afternoon I experienced the sudden arm weakness exactly as so many of you have described. It was so strange/unusual/scary that I googled "sudden weakness in both arms" and found my way to this thread. I have a number of health issues that may have caused this episode so I thought I would share my situation ....
I have never had amalgam fillings so I'm ruling out mercury as a possibilty.
I have had a heart attack and cardiac arrest and today's episode was completely different.
As a result of the cardiac issues I'm taking a high dose statin medication to lower cholesterol and stabilize plaque which is what caused the cardiac arrest. My blood pressure is normal. I also take multi-vitamins and magnesium and recent blood tests show no deficiencies.
I have previoulsy been diagnosed with carpal tunnel in both hands, thoracic outlet syndrome, and lumbar spondylosis. All are structrual problems caused by Acromegaly, a rare disease caused by a pituitary brain tumor that secretes excess growth hormone which in turn causes tissues to swell and bones to grow/distort, among other things. My friends call me Lucky :)
I have annual brain MRIs to check for tumor regrowth and if I had Multiple Sclerosis it would have been found during these scans so I'm ruling out MS.
I also have my hormones checked on an annual basis due to the tumor and I am going to rule out adrenal insufficiency or hypothyroid as these have all been checked in the last couple months.
I spend a lot of time at my computer, looking down to read, etc. and my neck is always uncomfortable.
So, as a result of my joint issues, the fact that I was holding a heavy vacuum at the time of the weakness, the fact that my skull/head is larger and heavier than it would normally be, I'm going to look into the cervical spine area as a potential cause. I'm not a doctor but I will definitely be talking to one soon.
Thank you all so much for sharing your stories. I'm glad I found this thread. If I come up with an actual answer by a licensed professional, I'll let you know.

I have been having these spells fir several months. The exact symptoms as the rest but I’ve also been trying to solve my problem with daily headache since 2017. Did you ever find the problem? So many with the same issue but no one says they found the reason. Thx.

I think this may be what many people are experiencing, but no official diagnosis because it requires an MRI of the neck. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with cervical spondylosis with neuroforaminal narrowing =worst on the left C5-6 and C6-7, mild to moderate central stenosis noted. There is disco osteophyte complex as well. This was an incidental finding when I had had the stenosis show up on a CT scan of my head, so followed up with MRI. I had previously had random sharp pain in my shoulder blade, but just thought I probably had a pinched nerve. About 6 months ago, I started having these episodes as everyone on this thread is reporting, weakness and fatigue in both arms and core muscles, almost like a cramp, one large tight feeling and ache, followed by a slight headache. It always happens when I am watching television or on my laptop. Standing up and stretching seems to help relieve. I feel pretty sure this is related to the cervical spine problem.
