Anyone, get this same thing happen to them after consuming evn small amounts of vinegar..? So I am an avid eater of vinergar and cucumbers or vinegar and lettuce, shortly afterward I get a stuffy nose and congested head. I associated this together a few months ago but was in denial of me having an allergy to vinegar, I noticed it happened every time after eating italian dressing. I soon narrowed it down to the vinegar. Wow what a deal. I have gone 30+ years without knowing I have this small allergy to vinegar, anyone else have the same thing, and what are your symptoms..?

Anaphylactic reaction to sulfites - I think you just solved my health issues. Thanks so much.
My gums swell and my tongue swells & gets a cut in it. My doc thinks it is an exacerbation from my ashma inhaler (flovent) so I stopped using it as per his rec but the symptoms with vinegar haven't gone away when I re-trial it. Candida from inhalers in general may increase suscseptibility. I am waiting until the day I no longer have a reaction from vinegar as it may take a while to get oral steroid out of my system...hoping he is right.
have you found any help for this problem?
Very interesting. I thought I could be allergic to tomatos, but my coworker said it may be the Vinegar they were in. I had never thought of this, but my wife cleaned our washing machine with it and now I have a rash where my clothes rest on my body (shoulders, hips, etc.) Vinegar may be the culprit.
Vinegar has ruined my life! Well, not quite. But do you know what it is like to not be able to go to a 4th of July or Labor day barbeque cause you can't eat anything with vinegar in it without becoming extremely nausiated?! People at barbeques think I am wierd cause I eat ribs with no sauce...when I can get em with no sauce. I found that vinegar made me sick at a very early age. One evening I sat down for dinner and my mother decided to serve up some potatoe salad. Needless to say I ruined, not just mine, everyone's dinner by vomitting at the dinner table after eating just one spoonful of potatoe salad. This went on for years and years. Doctors came off as if they had no clue as to why vinegar was making me sick. They told me that he human body naturally makes vinegar. So why am I getting sick from it? My wife gets upset with me cause she think I just don't like her cooking. She cooks everything with vinegar...EVEN SOUP! Sometimes I find myself wearing a full face gas mask when she's cooking.
Vinegar is highly acidic. For example, take an old rusty or dirty coin and put it in a glass of vinegar over night. It will look like new in the morning. I am no medical expert, but I have found that people who have ate vinegar all their life often develop stomach complicatons, such as ulcers and galstones. What I am trying to say is, never put anything acidic on your bedding or clothing. Use lysol or some other household disinfectant. If its just a reaction to the vinegar you are having, it should clear up in a week provided you don't scratch the bumps and use an anti-itch medicine like benadryl...excuse my spelling.
It's amazing how very little is known or addressed by healthcare professionals on the reactions that vinegar causes in some people. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant and is a corrosive acid. Try this simple experiment. Take an old dirty or rusty coin and put it in a glass of vinegar over night. The following morning, it will look spanking brand new. The vast majority of people can eat foods with vinegar with absolutety no problems, so in their minds, they can't grasp how come you don't like vinegar. A doctor once told me that my body produces too much vinegar...yes vinegar...and that could be why I over react to it.
Yes, I also used get hot flashes when eating salt & vinegar chips. I love them, but now know since reading your post that I cannot eat them anymore. I am an environmentally-friendly housecleaner & have been using white vinegar & eucalyptus oil for cleaning for about 7 years. I developed a cough whilst using eucalyptus oil in a confined area & feeling nauseous almost to the point of vomiting. I think I have a delayed reaction to vinegar because sometimes I would wake up with a stuffy head, runny nose, coughing from inhaling the fumes the day or night before & then the nauseous feeling would hit me. I will either have to use a respirator for cleaning from now on, especially in confined spaces or spray white vinegar directly onto the cleaning cloth to prevent the fumes from entering my airways.
I think it may possibly be our blood type, as I am A+. I found my blood type through blood donation. I am curious about others!!!
I believe I am allergic to vinegar, with symptoms of sweating about the head with a lot of puffy redness, depending how much I eat. I suggest it may be possible it has to do with our blood type, as I am A+. What are some of your blood types out there, just curious?
I find I have this similar allergy with my face getting a red puffiness, and sweat quite a bit about the head. I'm curious if it is our blood type mine being A+. Others please respond.
