Anyone, get this same thing happen to them after consuming evn small amounts of vinegar..? So I am an avid eater of vinergar and cucumbers or vinegar and lettuce, shortly afterward I get a stuffy nose and congested head. I associated this together a few months ago but was in denial of me having an allergy to vinegar, I noticed it happened every time after eating italian dressing. I soon narrowed it down to the vinegar. Wow what a deal. I have gone 30+ years without knowing I have this small allergy to vinegar, anyone else have the same thing, and what are your symptoms..?

yes I have spilled vinegar on my hand before and it swelled and turned red and hurt like a mother its was horrible but i just brushed it off as my eczema issues or something but i am rethinking that have been for awhile..i think its the vinegar that did it omg did it burn..i know i have bad allergies just never thought of this so called natural thing causing some of them... infact i just did a half and half water vinegar for cleaning counters ( remember i fluffed it off before as being the cause) and now my eyes are burning i had to wash my hands 3 times already and im begining to itch everywhere.......and yes doctors especiallly in an er can be idiots i guess its not fair to call them idiots just not exactly with it at the time.
Yes I have noticed that whe ever i eat condimets with vinegar my scalp gets a really strong tingling sensation and I have also had many biopsys done to try and figure out the rash and hair loss on my head. with all test coming back negative and the dermotologist then said it was skin lupus which i dont believe it is.
I seem to get leg cramps from vinegar...noticed after eating salads and eliminated everything else. Also a headache. Not sure why...
Vinegar...its been a problem . It first started with coughing whenever I consumed it. Then the scent of vinegar would make me cough.Yesterday I had the worst reaction yet.Coughing, followed by large amounts of phlegm, then wheezing where I could feeling the phlegm in my lungs. As of today, I'm starting to avoid any vinegar for a start. I will keep reading about this.Ask yourself, why are our bodies allergic to food? That defies all logic as human beings have come to exist.
I have Vinegar allergies. I get a cough every time I eat anything that contains it. Usually it's not bad, but salad dressings in particular are bad for me. I have had my tounge start to swell and get hives from a raspberry vinegerette dressing. It really sucks, because well, it seems like everything has vinegar is in it!
I get a painful tingling in the sides of my face under my ears, it's a very painful pins and needles type feeling and numbing of my tongue, ketchup, Italian dressing too much of it and it hurts to even open my mouth. Weird any one else experience this?
i have the same reaction but not as extreme. My entire head swets. It also happens with tomato red sauce, but that may be because there may be vinegar in it. I'm still able to enjoy pickles, salad dressing etc. It's more of a nuisance.
Doctors don't like to admit to allergies or sensitivities..need something you can take a pill for. Good luck. I still use it for cleaning hard water stuff but cannot consume it.
I also get leg cramps and also with nightshade veggies. Miss not being able to have dressing in restaurants as I love salads but must make my own with lemon juice or whatever. Strangely it also gives me nightmares and I can't sleep for a night.
I have just developed this allergy as well, in the last few months that is. For me it is severe stomach cramps. I don't get itchy or swelling or heat etc. Just the cramping. :( I LOVE vinegar. What I would like to know is what would neutralize this? Any idea?
Its probably the tumeric in the mustard and the pickles. If youre allergic to tumeric you will be allergic to ginger as well.
After breaking out in hives and my allergist rulling out most foods, my husband figured out I am allergic to anything with vinegar. I had a sudden onset of these syptoms after suffering from "adrenal fatique", which most doctors don't recognize as a diagnosis. I also have swelled up in my face after consuming chinese food with soy sauce and eating hamburgers loaded with condiments. Now I pop a Zyrtec and everything is fine.
I have been trying to figure out why my face turns hot and sweaty after any kind of salad dressings and of late spaghetti sauce. All the dressings have vinegar but the sauce does not?! I am assuming it's a vinegar thing. I am glad someone else out there has this same problem. I am thinking i need to get it checked out.
I have an allergy to vinegar but just recently discovered it is the yeast in vinegar that is the culprit. I also have problems with other foods containing yeast such as chocolate, grapes, doughnuts and breads especially sourdough. I get a range of symptoms including asthma, coughing, sinusitis and stomach cramps. When my sons eat grapes they often get blood in their stools.
You are not alone! My head sweats horribly when I eat red wine vinegar in particular. It is so bizarre. I am just now in the process of discovering the extent of this severity /allergy/reaction.
