I had my ablation 5 weeks ago now and still have the icky discharge.  There doesn't appear to be rhyme or reason- it's heavy one day and then light the next.  And just when I think it's stopping, it comes back.  On the plus side, I just had some light spotting during period time and it passed quickly (4 days!).  That's awesome for me!!  It's good to read that my experience is like other's and I now think I'm experiencing a normal recovery.  I suppose it's just a waiting game now

I had an ablation on July 5th and it is nearly 16 weeks later.  I still get a 2 day period from time to time, but that is not what concerns me.  Before this surgery, I had little to no discharge...now there is ALWAYS a clear discharge coming from my vagina.  I always have to use a pantyliner.  The flow is constant.  As I type this, I feel it.  To me, this does not seem normal since this did not happen before the surgery and is constant now.  If I do not wear a pad, my panties and pants and upper thighs are soaked.  He says all women have discharge and that it is normal.  I do not want to go the rest of my life like this.  I almost wish I would have kept my period.  Has anyone else had an endless clear flow for this long a time?

Hn.. I cant say thats what I had.. Not constant.. I had mine done Oct 11th. Two weeks ago exactly.. When I woke up in recovery, I was begging for meds, felt like I woke up in a strange room in full labor.. Ouch. Morphine didnt help a bit, however, within minutes I was in my room, up and walking and eatting, so they let me go home with meds. After I took the second round of meds, the pain was back to normal, period like cramps.. Then, up until 4 days ago, it was GREAT! No bleeding, barely anything else. Very mild pain. Then the spotting started, and has gotten worse until today, which it disappeared, and then came on again. Oy... No smells, or colors, but I do get the discharge more than I would like, here and there.. We will see.. Hanrobecowen, Have you contacted your doctor about this??

I have several times and they said that it is normal until 12 weeks. It is passed that now and he said that discharge is normal for women. Yeah, it is...but not like this....the clear discharge has not lessened since the procedure. I have an appointment with him on Oct. 31...if he is still refusing to even look into it, I am getting a second opinion and then maybe a lawyer. I do not want this to go on for the rest of my life. My bleeding is still weird, too. Day 4 of a period and cramping. At this point, I would have been better off having nothing done. I was not impressed with him. He did not even tell me they found a cyst in there and checked it for cancer...I did not find that out until the 2 week post op visit. I just think it will be horrible to have to wear a pad for the next 50 years.

I had my ablasion done 11 days ago in the doctors office with only a local. Bad idea!  It was very painful and after the local wore off I went to the ER because the percocet was not helping. By day 2 the pain/cramps were managable with meds. I have had very little discharge and no smell like I hear from others.  I feel 95% better but still can't be on my feet for very long. No fatigue, but the cramps come back if I walk to much.

I just want to be able to excersise again.

It took about 6 weeks to feel mostly normal. You will be fine in no time.

I finally found out what was the deal with me and it was unrelated to the ablation, he said. He said that for some reason I am producing a lot of cervical mucous and he put me on a steroid for 6 months. I should stop leaking that fluid by month two. It is just too much of a coincidence that I start leaking that fluid the same time as I have an ablation and leak clear fluid for that. I hope he is right and they are not related and the surgery was not faulty. I hope the drug fixes it, because if it does not, he said a hysterectomy is next. Whatever to stop leaking and not wear pads every day for 4 months now. Will be pads for a total of 6 to 10 months, every single day, before it is done. Boo. Nothing happens to men. Not fair.

I had my ablation on 11/7/11. I still have a discharge, but every day it seems to be getting less and less.   I'm concerned about the smell... OMG... But as I read further it is a bacteria, Gardnerlla that is probably present.  I have a follow up this Wednesday so I'm hoping I will get some cream to help with the bacteria and elimate it along with the smell.   My discharge however, is clear, pinkish, sometimes red.  But watery nonetheless.   Occassionally, I've had a feeling of cramping, but very minimal and very brief.   I had a headache the other day, but that was the first I've had in a long time and not serve.   Overal, right now I feel fine and the water discharge and smell is far better than dam near bleeding out every month.  Something that has driven me to anemia.   But, I am back to working out.  Only doing areobics and cardio.  No real weight lifting.  But to be back to what I love to do to clear my mind and keep me active and promote my health has been a joy.   Especially seeing I have not been able to do that in over 7 months due ot the excessive bleeding..... So right now...  I will continue to pray my uterus heals and I return back to a sembilence of normal functioning..... good day all and best wish for use who have undergone the ablation process...

I had Novasure done in office, with vicodin, valium and a pain medicine injection in the tush. I'll be honest, I have a high resistance to pain meds due to taking them in 3 prior c-sections. Don't think pain medicine kicked in enough, because the actual procedure was excrutiating. Husband said it was like a long labor contraction. I know I was squeezing his hand like it was. The force of the pressure of the forceps or whatever it was holding my vaginal canal open for the probe was what hurt me most for some reason. As soon as the doctor finished inspecting the burn with a camera and removed all the equipment, I felt way better. The first four hours home were aweful. I felt labor pain in my lower back and uterus, but I kept taking pain meds. Ibuprofen ended up helping more, and afer a night of sleep, I woke up feeling so much better. It's two days later, and I've only needed to take it easy. I only use a little tylenol or ibuprofen when I feel pain with only really happens when I over exert myself or get stressed out. I started cramping while I got frustrated with a utility company who kept on hanging up on me, so basically as long as I just relax at home or take short outings without carrying anything heavy, I'm really feeling great. There's barely any watery discharge. I think the more you allow your body to heal as though it was a major surgery, the healthier the recovery will be. I'm usually the super woman type of mom and wife, but I'm not doing it this time. I'm taking it easy, laying around, eating healthy , drinking lots of fluids and letting others help with things like bringing me my phone. The constipation the first day ended today, primarily because I ate a bunch of prunes. Whatever you can do to alleviate and move things slowly the better. I noticed any coffee could make me cramp, so I'm abstaining for a few weeks. Just paying attention to your body helps, and if you notice anything like foul smells, fever, chills etc. don't hesitate to bug the doctor....better safe than sorry. To all of you who can't rest it out, my heart goes out to you and hopefully one day your vacation will come. I feel truly blessed that for once in my life my husband took two days off and is actually being super helpful. I had explained to the kids that I was some pain from a procedure, so they are being super helpful too. I've truly never had so much support before, even with the past c-sections. I'm so thankful, and God willing, the ablation will help those terrible periods.

I had mine yesterday morning, and I was in the midst of my cycle. Since I got home at noon yesterday, I have had little or no discharge. I am thrilled mind you, but wonder if there was supposed to be some bleeding?

I had the Novasure procedure and Adiana procedure done 5 days ago. Thirty minutes prior to the procedure I had 10 mg of Valium, 2 Vicodin and 800 mg of Ibuprofen and I felt some discomfort but it wasn't too bad. I had pretty intense cramping later that night so I took another Vicodin which helped alot! I'm a very active person (personal trainer/boot camp instructor) so I really haven't had time to relax and take it easy. The day after the procedure I did a 5 mile hike in the redwoods trying to ground myself ( I felt very upset inside; emotional), I went for a long walk and ran some stairs for about an hour 3 days later and on the 4th day ran more stairs. I was up to teach Boot Camp at 6am this morning! (now you know what I mean about active) I feel a very heavy sensation and bloated feeling in my gut which is strange. I've been discharging semi-bloody more than a panty-liner worth. I now can smell the funky order people have mentioned and maybe a little discomfort. My doctor said I could go back to my 'normal' schedule the next day but did I over do it? I was also told no sex, baths or hot tubs for 2 weeks, is this the norm?

Well, I had my procedure and tubiligation this morning and so far, everything is good.  I am having minimal pain and no cramping, with minimal bleeding.  I went in to surgery at 8 am and got out of the hospital about 1:30.  They made sure that I ate, drank, and urinated, and made sure I went home with motrin and painkillers.  I have taken both, but the motrin really helps at keeping the cramps alone.  So far, I am really happy that I had this done, but my doctor said that having a Mirena (which has progesterone) will most likely be really helpful for getting a "good burn".  The only other thing that needs to be said is that I had the free flowing saline procedure with

Glad you posted this I was beginning to worry. I had my procedure 2 days ago and I thought I would be better by now. I feel the same way like my uterus is heavy and I feel sooo bloated. How long did it last? I am still having cramps also, I was about to call the doctor maybe I will wait it out.

Hi, I had me procedure done four days ago. While in the recovery room I began to cramp very badly. I asked for strong pain meds and was told my doctor would not give any strong meds (Percocets) to me. She felt Motrin was enough. Well, maybe for many but not me. After about two and a half hours later the pain began to subside.  I went home and finally got relief, probably because I finally was able to get some sleep. I was fine after that. By the second day I stopped taking the Motrin and Flexir (for back pain).  That evening the pain came back, needless to say I started taking the pain meds as scheduled. I went back to work today and felt very tired and began cramping again.  I think I went back to work too soon.  My doctor gave me the impression that I should be back to my routine in just a few days.  While, my husband think I should take a week off from work, I would feel guilty if I took more than three days off. I hope the cramping stops  and I get my energy back soon.

Hi there, Had my procedure four days ago also...in office and it was painless and quick. I had great drugs and the heating pad has been my friend. Had the novasure procedure Friday afternoon and hosted a small party on Saturday evening, I also golfed 18 holes on Sunday. I have been having some clear, brownish discharge, but no smell. On Monday I taught an hour spin class and noticed heavier discharge and felt a little funky. Decided to take It easy today, I did walk 4 miles but napped earlier in the afternoon. Tomorrow I teach another spin class...we will see how it goes. I decided to post something because I was searching for stuff before I had the Novsure done and most of the comments freaked me out, I am hoping that mine might calm some nerves.
