Hi. I notice while I'm in bed (laying in all positions) a wheezing or gurgling sound when I exhale. Anyone familiar with this?

I have had the same problem. So tired of it. Wish just one day would go by without wheezing rattling or coughing. I've tried so many treatments. On allergy shot for last 3 years. Doctors never really do get to the bottom of it.... My recent CT scan of chest shows nothing abnormal... Inhalers nebulizers help a little bit.. But symptoms never totally go away.
I have the same problem I cough to clear it only to have start up a second later, over and over

I am a soon to be 45 year old male whose been healthy most all my life. I caught some kind of flue in February this year and seven months later, I don't feel that I have ever really recovered.
I have had asthma as long as I can remember, but always able to control it with a seldom used abuterol inhaler. Since February, I have needed to use my inhaler almost twice per day. I have been to the doctor more in the last six months than I went in the last 10 years combined.
Wheezing at night keeps me from rest. Wheezing during the day has slowed my exercise routine to a crawl. I tested positive for walking pnumonia a couple of months ago, made a slow recovery on antiboitics, but still feel weak and "blocked" in my airways. I have been seeing an allergist for two months, but my next step is a chest X-Ray. I feel like it will comeback negative because I still feel as though this is flu related.Whatever this bug was that went around this year, it feels like more than a "normal" flu. Never felt this bad and never had this kind of trouble bouncing back

I also exhibited many of the same symptoms. I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis. Have your pull monologist check into this, it can't hurt.
I just noticed this squeakingc sound laying in bed tonight. Just happened across your post and I have been having the night sweats off and on for the last 3-6 months. Very weird for me as I'm usually freezing.
I've had these symptoms for several years now. I'm in my late fifties, but still on active duty in the military and still doing a lot of physical training. My symptoms first consisted of a gurgling, crackling or sizzling sound while lying down and exhaling. It worsened while running in the damp, drizzly cold of western Washington state. Now, some years later, it mostly consists of a high-pitched squeeling sound, that pulsates with the beating of my heart. To me it sounds as if tissue in my bronchial passages or lungs is either swollen or sagging causing restricted air flow. Weird. But I can't remember any particular illness that preceded the wheezing.
Get second oppinan ASAP!
Check your air filters also. I am having this same issue. I had bronchitis a year ago and they gave me antibiotics. The weezing never seemed to go away. It's not that bad but I hate it because I'm active and it doesn't feel good.
I have had the same problem, found out I have a parasite stronglyoids check it out look on the cdc website. If this is your problem it is very important to avoid steroids such as prednisone, the parasites get worse when the steroids depress your immune system
I have a similar problem, ever since I had a sinus infection that took several treatments to get rid of I have this wheezing in my nose and sometimes upper chest, the noisy nose is very annoying, keeps me awake. I started taking 1 Ibuporpen PM at night and I am able to sleep through the night and not notice the noises in my sinuses. I also have an inhaler that I use occassionally and nasal spray. The Nellie Pot nasal rinse will help too. I almost always sound like I have a little bit of a cold, and I feel pressure between my teeth and sinuses! There are lots of posts about this, I guess it is pretty common so, I am not going to freak out about it anymore.
I have the same thing, and as with the rest of the people replying my primary Doctor says there is nothing wrong and X-RAYS shoe nothing. A year ago I almost died in the hospital after having major back surgery and catching Sepsis in the hospital. Since then I have the whizzing each night when I go to bed. Wish there was an answer for getting rid of this, it's hard to fall asleep and get a good night's sleep.
I used a combo of cinnamon and hot water, Flonase and symbacort inhaler. Seemed to be the only combo that made a difference (huge difference)
Wow, we all have a lot in common.
I'm 14, and I've had a pretty bad cough for about two weeks now.
I wheeze a lot when I'm lying down, but not so much when I'm stood up. I have severe eczema that's lingered around since birth, and I'm allergic to a lot of every day things.
Is the wheezing/coughing due to my allergies? Or could it be asthma? Eczema and asthma are closely linked and I'm wondering if it's a possibility.
I hope you all recover quickly, and all the best. x
I cannot believe reading how many people are having the same symtoms!
Three o' clock and as with nearly everynight, I am sittling in the lounge. This wheezing and gurgling is driving me insane. I find it difficult even just to fall asleep from the disturbance. I have had bronchitis for nearly a year and when I was hospitalised recently a ct scan showed I have emphysema. I only have myself to blame for being a (now ex) smoker and wish I could recapture those years with what I know today.
I am not dr. Just a respiratory student at ferris state university. So don't really listen to me too much. It sounds like a lung abscess. Look it up. Did they do xrays?
