I had the flu and pneumonia several times in the past few years and was given all kinds of antibiotics, steroid inhalers, acid reflux medication. I have been diagnosed with, acid reflux, asthma and several other things which turn out to be false diagnoses. I had now had this constant wheeze in my throat area (only) for about almost a year now and it is getting worse. I am Coughing mostly when I lye down, whistling sound, wheezing/ gurgling sound and bubbling clear liquid is constantly bothering me in my Throat area (only) especially when I lye down, My Primary Dr. says my lungs are clear a a bell I can not get a good nights sleep unless I take benidryl. I also have off and on blurred vision and sleepless nights and night sweats. going for more test this week. This is very scary being I am the only female in my immediate family who has not had Cancer of some sort. Both my sisters and my mother have had Cancer and my father had Cancer but lived until he was 93 and died from natural causes.
Can some body tell me what this strange throat wheezing is?
So I don't know if anyone who previously struggling still reads this forum but for anyone else that comes looking for answers, I want to share my experience and maybe some advise. A respiratory sufferer myself, I have searched the Internet for answers on multiple occasions on how to calm wheezing and today in particular I found that laying down was causing my wheezing. I suffered for an hour or two before I finally gave in and went downstairs to make myself what people call "golden milk". After smelling eucalyptus oil for a bit and not getting any results I finally put some milk in a cup and some turmeric and heated it for a minute and half in the microwave. I sat there and sipped on it and went back and laid down and instantly noticed that the wheezing was calming down. People: KEEP TURMERIC in your houses. It is an extremely powerful spice/ingredient that is an anti inflammatory and heals many conditions. For those of you who don't know what it is, go to your local grocery store and search for it in the Indian isle with spices. It's a bright yellow powder. Ginger is also a great option.. Some people cannot stand the taste but honestly those who suffer like me know that anything is worth getting rid of that problem

I don't know if anyone ever responded correctly to this or if you got it checked out. But it sounds like GERD. The acid backs up when you lay down and irritates the bronchi, thereby making you wheeze. I had this formonths before it was diagnosed. I took a two week course of Nexium and changed my diet, lost some weight, now it's gone. If you haven't though, see a doctor!
Yeah me too, it's strange, just happen since 6months and it's still happening when I inhale and when I breathe out the wheezing noise starts. I checked with the doctor and she said I have been having high blood pressure and because I love eating ice cream, like 2litre x 2 per week. So the advice is, reduce the dairy product in take. No I try to keep away from ice cream. I'm not overweight, 99kg by 75cm, age 52.
I have the same thing
I have terrible gurgling and wheezing when exhaling coughing chills vomiting rash on the back of my neck nearly pass out when coughing on antibiotics but not getting anybetter not sleeping sweating
Your symptoms sound exactly like mine. I was doing the math the other day....and I have wheezing while lying down (mainly), for months, and months. I went to a Pulmonologist, and he has scheduled me for all the scans. So, we shall see. I am a very physical guy, love lifting heavy on the job, and I am the workhorse (not my words), on any team on on. I'm a firefighter at a busy city dept. I'm not freaking out about this, but I am very concern. As some kind of adult asthma diagnosis, would negatively affect both my firefighter career, as well as my Air Force Reserve job. Sucks
Sorry about the type-o's! I didn't proof read my post!
The Tumeric suggestion above looks interesting, think I will give that a go.
My next move is to inhale some colloidal silver via an ultrasonic humidifier, has always worked rapidly in the past for upper respiratory infections.
I can trace my wheezing back to an incident when I was cycling recently, I inhaled a fly and had a massive coughing fit, ever since I've had this wheezing, gurgling sound on exhale, not so bad if I lie on my back but chronic if I lie on my side, can hear my heart beating through the gurgling. If the Colloidal/Tumeric work I'll post back. AL.
I have this exact issue, after laying down I start to have a gurgle/weeze on exhale. I was told so many things but once I tried using Prevacid a few months ago and it went away. But it comes back if I don't take it. I just thought I'd try Prevacid that a family member had extra meds of.. worked. I went to the Doctor and I was diagnosed with GERD, serious acid reflux disease. If I don't take my Prevacid at night, symptoms come right back. After researching, greasy foods, and some breads that I'm allergic to cause all of my issues.
But new research into Prevacid shows it can cause kidney issues, so I need to resolve my Acid Reflux some other way.
So to anyone who has this, try taking Prevacid or something like that before you lay down, maybe 1hr before. If it works, thsn you know what the cause is.
Pitty you Guys don't even get the necessary medical care. Must be in the great u.s of a. Right?
We used to have the best in the world until someone got people to vote for his system promising care for everyone. Now hospitals and other medical providers turn you away if your insurance company won't pay for the care. Before that my local hospital would treat you first then try to figure out a way to get paid but not now. The cost of insurance has gone up exponentially so that many people cannot afford it and get screwed twice. Once when they are forced to pay the government penalty for not having insurance and again when they need care they cannot get due to lack of insurance. If you do have insurance you are at the mercy of some insurance clerk who decides if the company will pay for the care you need.
no your wrong i live in the usa and ithink we get excelent heath care and its required we have medical insurance so its pretty easy to get medical care and if your poor enough its free. also we have one of the best doctors and health care workers in the world .so dont pitty your self .....(~.~)
