Hi, I'm still numb after 10 months...and tight of course. Is anyone still tight and numb? I'm afraid I might have nerve damage... B

I am almost 6 months out from face lift and feel like my ears have constant ear infection. The scar tissue behind the ear is still painfull. The tightness has subsided some, and yes, I am still numb.
I am 2 years out of a neck lift. No more numbness at about 1 year. For maybe 1 1/2 months, I felt neck tightness and a sense of not being able to breathe. At 2 months, it completely went away.
I regret it every day. If anyone is contemplating any of this: Do NOT have any of it done. Live with the way you look now and be happy. Too many problems arise from these surgeries. You might have something go wrong that might be difficult to solve. I sure did. NOT worth it at all.
How long did it take you to smile normal again?
I am 3 mos post op and cannot lower my bottom lip either. I am farther out than all of you and although I look good I can feel lumpiness on my left side of face. Fillers have smoothed it for now but the 7 th cranial nerve is in that area and does control facial movement. At what point is it considered permanently destroyed. I also developed a corneal ulcer and I believe that nerve can paralyze one side of face. Drs refer to it as a palsy but does it resolve or not ? If not what can be done? I'm worried and having double vision driving only at a distance and do not know why? Anyone else have visual issues with the smile problem?
Go see a neurologist or a pain clinic. I was told that I have nerve damage that may never go away and must learn to deal with it. It is quite frightening!!
You could not have said it better! I am post 5 years and the numbness and tightness seems to come and go. But, like you said, just look in the mirror and who cares if it's normal!
How did you work out. What was your final outcome?
Yes, I had my surgery done 4/14/15. I still have highness (feels like a noose around my neck). Also I have two lumps under my jaw...looks like my lymph nodes are swollen. Overall I have been very happy with the outcome but wondering if I'm going to have to live with this the rest of my life.
Three years ago is too long to go without seeing a specialist. There are fantastic pain clinics by some of the top plastic surgeons in the country at John's Hopkins University. I have an appointment next month because I am considered in the 1% of nerve problems. Please don't stay in the shadows. Go see someone. There are other people like me who share your concerns.
I know how you feel. I went to one of the top neurologists in the country yesterday and he said he didn't know if there was anything to be done for me. My nerves are shooting in all directions and I am in so much pain, behind my ears, my jaw, my neck, pulling, stretching until I just want to scream. I had my surgery in July, 2015. I just broke down yesterday in the doctor's office. I do remember, though, an email from a woman who told me after six years, it suddenly went away. So, I try to keep hope.
I am curious to know if you're results have improved. I am having similar issues with severe neck tightness. Skin fells like it's shrink wrapped around platysma muscles with crinkling. Plattsma neck bands are extremely prominent and tight when I chew or lift chin up. I am 6 months post op.
Timothy J Marten in San Francisco pulled my friends neck that dud not need lifting so tight that she has difficulty brathing when she lays down and when she runs. He dud many unagreed orocedures to her while she was under anestesia. He lies on the ooerative report. He even botched her nose and nipples during this face operation. How can a person like that still have a licence. He is a danger to patients because he does all these unagreed orocedures snd disfigures innocent people. Disgrace to all other orofessionals who follow the rules. Stay away from Dr. Tim Marten.
I have had a mini face lift 2 years ago and have a terrible itch on my cheek next to my right ear and lower down my jaw, what is the reason and how do i get rid of the itch????
I also had the terrible feeling around my neck. It seemed as if someone was strangling me with a knoted rope. After suffering with this for over a month post surgery my Dr prescribed lorazepam , muscle relaxer and anti anxiety. Well. I took it , went to sleep and when I got up I felt fine, went shopping and except for occasional tightness have felt fine forever afterwards. I only had to take it once.
