Hi, I'm still numb after 10 months...and tight of course. Is anyone still tight and numb? I'm afraid I might have nerve damage... B

We have been lied to by all these surgeons. One year and I am still the same. Looks like I have swollen glands sometimes. My neck lift fell quite a bit . I do look better but not worth it since I hardly go out anyway. Good luck to you. JG
I just spoke to someone and he assured me I am not crazy - it takes two or more years- the real crime is the docs don't tell you that is a possibility. At least you can make a decision based on realism. Congrats- hope you feel better for the big occasion.
4 weeks on after necklift and very numb ears, I can't believe they will get better. It depends if the nerves were crushed or cut. Far more painful experience than imagined and it was only my neck. I would not advise anyone else to do it. I sleep with one of those neck pillows for travelling. You can sleep on your side without putting pressure on your ears. The neck is ok but not as good as I would have expected. That's it,no more cosmetic surgery.
Are you getting better?
Hi, I had lower face lift and neck lift a year ago. I'm still numb and what is really worst is the feeling of tightness around my neck as if someone was choking me. It affects my breathing and i have developed a anxiety and i get panic attacks thinking that i will choke. i hate myself for doing it too. I had to start taking xanax to feel relaxed and not nervously gasp for air. I'm glad i'm not the only one with this problem, yet i wish we could have not done it...
I am 3.5 weeks post and have a large lump in the middle of my cheek. Have been asked if I have a tooth abscess by someone! Just received a steroid injection yesterday, but no improvement.
Are you feeling better?
I am 2 1/2 years post op having a full facelift. I am still dealing with numbness on the right side of my scalp and swelling and hardness in front of my ears. My neck is still swollen and some days I think I will go insane. I have researched the swelling extensively and came to the conclusion that my Lymphatic System must not be working correctly (especially since some days are worse than others). I went to and ENT doctor who said that it is probably scar tissue under the skin and so she sent me to another ENT/Plastic Surgeon. He agreed that it is scar tissue and that a revision is the only solution. I almost had a panic attack! More surgery??? I also have the weird sensation that my face is being pulled downward and I know that it actually is because I have developed "Pixie Ears" (where the earlobes are drawn downward). The surgeon said that it is because of the way my initial surgeon sutured the incision. He gave me a couple of cortizone shots and told me to massage the area. That has not helped. I just read something about an Endermologie Treatment...has anyone had that done for the hardness? Oh, and in closing the surgeon that did this is not responding to my emails. p.s. I think there's a special place in hell for people like that, don't you? Paula
The PS intentionally minimize the post operative results/expectations and time it takes to heal. If they told everyone the truth, more people would decline to undergo the surgery.
I have had the same problem for 2 years. Another surgeon said that too much lipo at jawline has caused this along with an indentaton line under my chin upwards. The cosmetic fix would be fat grafting but not sure if adding that would solve the pulled feeling. Not sure about fat grafting after researching complications. Depressed!
No, except you are not alone. I had this 2 yrs ago and still have terrible pulling, tightness and numbness ESP on one side of my neck. Have given up believing it will go away, though, like you, it comes and goes and I cannot predict. One side is different than the other. If anyone has suggestions, please reply.
Hi, you are not alone. I had a neck lift 11 months ago. Since the beginning I had a lot of pain on my right ear and my skin felt so tide and horrible. Also had had tingling, shocks etc. The doctor said the healing would take more time. But he was lying. My neck still has bruises and red veins. And I been taking Xanax for all this months. I use coconut oil on my neck and the sides of my face because my skin feels so dry. I went to another PS and I have nerve damage. He send me to a pain doctor. I had 2 steroids inyections on my neck. It is helping and been felling better. But I been on a nightmare since that neck surgery for all this time. I hope you feel better!
I am feeling better but still not normal. I'm looking on different options. Another PS send me to a pain dr and I had 2 sections with steroid inyections.
still wondering after 14 months and ruined eyes besides the neck pain. j
I had just the skin under my chin a platysmaty and neck lift and lower bleph. So even without the fat transferral ( ew) 14 months later i am in agony . My eyes were also cut short I was told by several docs and I am basically looking through peep holes and one lid per eye rather than top lid over the other and closing in together with eyes shut. Not sure I am blinking correctly. hope you are better
