Well I went to the store and stocked up. Read all these posts then I checked out the you tube video by Aaron Cohen. I hope this works! If so - thank you all so much! I have to get my life back but am so scared of withdrawals I have been putting it off for way to long. Been thinking bout getting on subs but after reading more about it - sounds like the withdrawals from them are even worse and sick of being dependant on anything! I got the loperamide Zantac robitussin and grapefruit juice. Also got some chocolate instant breakfast power ade yogurt and apple sauce - in case I can't eat too much. Now I just have to give it a try. Guess I'm gonna start off taking bout 10-15 of the loperamides and go from there. I am gonna do the last of my perks Tomo then Sunday I will give it a try. Was really skeptical but after reading all of the posts here and on you tube it sounds like this might really work. I hope so. I will let update Sunday or Monday and let you know. Fingers crossed! Wish me luck. Oh and just to let you know - I have been on perks and roxys for over 7 years. Been doing at least 7-9 perk 10s a day - and that's just to make me feel half normal not actually feel/enjoy them. On the weekends or "special occasions" I do 10-20 perk 10s and/or roxys. (Just letting u know this so if the loperamide works I can tell u how many and for how long I had to take to work for me)

I detoxed of methadone 5 days ago. On for 18 years. A friend told me about Kratom. Really though, it works?
At the moment I am taking Adderall and it is taking care of this sh t. I know, another addiction. My life is an addiction, but my goal is in sight, and from 200mg. of methadone to 0 has to be accomplished without any perc's to drag it out.
I feel Adderall kicks an opiate jones. Over half my life numb.

I don't know about kratom or methadone or suboxone.  I tried loperamide because you can buy it OTC at the drugstore and it is cheap.  It worked for me.  The amount to start with is supposed to be equal to mg you are using.  Loperamide has virtually no overdose warning attached.  I took it to get through a short time between my prescription, and was thrilled with result.

Hi All,

Im in Aus and i have been battling an addiction to Endone (Hydrocodone) and recently Oxycontin 10's - i could pop up to 10 Hydro's a day and nearly the same in Oxys - im not sure if this is considered a big addiction but it was enough to knock me to the ground, i was so unwell, I quit last Thursday - so 7 days ago - basically i have been through the hell that everyone has mentioned but i had to keep working during all of this also which was a nightmare - i basically faked the flu and this seemed to work and i got out of work early on 2 occasions YAY me!!! but only to go home and jump into bed and in all honest want to be dead - there has been lots of times that i have coinsidered suicide to escape these w/d's but i continue on for my famiy - so its day 7 now and i woke up this morning and felt great - just a little RLS but it was manageable and off to work i have gone. but when it gets to the afternoon im tired and i dont want to deal with the withdrawls it just draaaains me of everything. but in comparisonof what i have been dealing with its nothing. i did just go to the chemist and bought 2 packs of the Lope 2mg and threw 10x down and at the moment the restless legs have gone and im feeling much better. i even have the energy to type this out. this would have taken me all day at about day 3 - worst day for me was day 4 i just didnt want to deal with anyone.

Hopefully i can remain off them for good now....

Im planing on getting married next week so i need energy thats why i was asking so please help me out here thank you.....

iice - energy is a hard question to answer. Everyone is different but I would say at least a month or so. Unfortunately energy is the last thing to come back when going through withdrawals. I take liquid B12 every morning along with multi vitamins and it helps a little. The best thing you can do is try taking a Zantac and then 30 minutes later Imodium in high doses (10-20) every morning for about a week. That will help will all of your withdrawals even the sleep and energy. Best of luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding.

This isn't meant to get OFF Opiates just get you through til you can get your next script. BUT I have heard from my good friend that if you do the Loperamide, say 20 then taper yourself down every few weeks, he did 5 pills less every 2 weeks until he was down to 5 then then every week after that he cut one a week until he was down to one and then he just stopped. he has very MINOR withdraws like sweats other than that he was great and hasn't touched any drugs since! I hope this helps people with questions!!!

Ok, first time posting on an addiction site...been doing my research with shaking hands and anxiety through the roof.  I've gone through withdrawal once before, about 3 years ago, and it was awful.  This has given me hope.  I'm going to head to walmart after this post and get loperamide, gatorade, water, grapefruit juice, and give this a go.  I hope I can do it, so I can help my husband through it.  We've been together 18 years, partners in crime from the first night together when we did lines of coke.  Now, 18 years, three kids, a mortgage. two cars and 6 cats later, we've both been hooked on opiates for as long as I can remember.  We just like to party together.  I have to admit...I love the high from drugs.  I feel bored without it.  I know that some major life changes will need to happen, which I'm willing to do, but I'm so terrified of withdrawals.  We both live in fear of "going down for a week".  And we both know that as soon as his scrip for oxycodones comes in again next month, we will fall off the wagon again.  I need to find some support group or something.  BUt the first thing is getting through the physical withdrawal.  I will stay connected to this board and use it as a lifeline for the next few days.  I hope someone is around to chat.  I would love to hand my last 5 vicodin, and 1 1/2 methadones back to my husband on Monday and tell him I did it and he can, too!!
