Can Mirena fall out?

I have had mirena for four months. I stopped bleeding two days ago. That's right, I just had a four month period. Now my strings are gone (Which is fine, I guess). A few days ago I could feel the little metal ring even with my cervix, but now I can't feel anything. I have an appointment next month to get it looked at. Here's hoping nothing goes wrong. I'm probably just going to get the nuisance removed if at all possible. Honestly, I have hated every second of this entire experience.

ok im 16 and ive had mirena for about a year now my mom insisted on it well for the first 3 months i had it all i had was cramps and pain and a nonstop period then it all just stopped and the pain went away and my period stopped and i didnt have one at all untill now (i also lost 20 pounds)

but then i was in school today and i felt discomfort so i went to the bathroom and it hurt so i figured it was the mirena my boyfriend always said he could feel it when we had sex it even got pushed out of place a few times any ways i felt the strings way to low down like an inch in so i pulled on them and it came out

you probably have a cyst... i have had my Mirena for almost the full 5 years now and the only difference i saw in myself was after i had it put in i started getting Anxiety and Anxiety attacks very bad, thought it was just from having a child but after reading all other posts i see that it very well could have been the mirena causing it. anyways im sorry, to my point about 4 months ago i was experiencing pains comparable to contractions.. but worse!!! and all it was was a tiny 2cm cyst that had ruptured... they said it was normal. you may want to have a sono and have them check for cysts... my pain was on the lower left side of my abdomen but the cyst was on my right ovary

Hi i am only 20 and i had my first child on may 3 of 2011 i got the mirena like 3-29-12 and ive been having complications for 2 weeks. i thought it was just sypomtoms of the mirena. i have heart burn every single day even if i dont eat anything at all. just the other day i was having intercourse with my fiancea and he was getting poked bye the string. then i went to the bathroom and i felt the string really low. im really fatique all day long i lost like 5 pounds in one month i have abodmen craps like crazy and i wasnt sher if i could be pregnant. because all my symptoms started before i felt the mirena falling out and im still feeling all this yukie ness. i wasnt sher if a baby could eject the mirena or what. i took a pregnany test and it came up negative but very very dim where u couldnt even see it barley if someone could right me on here it would be nice. i dont no what to think

 

my doctor also couldn't find the strings and i had about 3 ultrasounds to find out the placement of my mirena ..he made an attempt to remove it and replace it with another mirena and once again couldn't locate the strings so ordered another ultrasound which revealed that it had expelled from my body i myself think that to be very odd

Last night me and my husband had intercourse and he said he could feel it (first time he felt it since I got it, 3 months ago). I'm even more worried about it falling out after reading the stories. I had no idea of any of this. I have no insurance, and owe way too much to my old dr to even get it checked out.

I had my mirena in for about 4 years this August and I havent felt the need to check my strings for a couple weeks and I went to check last night. And there was nothing at all. I am waiting for a doctors appointment to get eveerything checked out. I was feeling really crampy a couple nights ago after a bath. So I am assuming that was when it came out or went deep into my cervex. I almost positive that it fell out becuase my doctor left my strings pretty long so i had to trouble finding them.

Yes I felt extreme cramps the entire first day I had to leave work early and just sleep it off

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about the abortive factor. Ive had mirena for almost 4 years and love it most of the time dt convenience and very light, short periods, but it does cause confusion sometimes when I have pregnancy symptoms or irregular periods.

I was looking for information on the Mirena, so I found this post and I'm glad I did because I thought it was crazy...

32 years old, mother of 2 - I had my Mirena inserted on Sept 12th, Cramped for the first afternoon and then felt pretty good. I started bleeding a week ago and I knew that my periods would be weird for the first few months. Last couple of days bleeding got worse and I'm at work using the restroom and the whole thing just came out. I was a little worried (Um, yeah!). It hasn't even been a month since I got it inserted!!

 I guess I can get a new one through the company because there is a warranty? I told my husband and he's thinking we'll never have sex again. (Good lord!) He has a point though, hard to have trust in something that doesn't work the first time. (We hadn't even gotten a chance to try the 1st one out!)

I was having some of the same side effects as others...craving junk food and feeling a little bloated. I am totally bummed that it came out. Almost can't believe it...(Sigh) I guess its back to the pill and then make the choice to make it permanent or not. :-)

i had the mirena put in about 2 months ago and i too ave gined wieght and have a desire or junk food. Im actually having some pain downthere and pianful urinating and was checked for a uti and that was negative so i have to go to my ob and get it checked out so imalittle woried i go this afternoon to get it checked

Yes mine hurt terribly for two or three days

I got the mirena 15mths ago ..Ive gaind ova 20pds .i am very emotional..SINC its been in.at times durin ntercourse i fell sharp pains but my husband say dnt fell nuthin.i am wrried if it falls out i hav no nsurance n i HAVNT B chkd SINC it b put n..Im a mother of 7 .n not lookin forward FO more kids:(

i have a questin but dont know how to start a topic. sry but maybe someone might see this and could help. i had the mirena after i had my daughter in 07 then had it removed in 2010 to have my son then had one placed in may of 2011 after my son. well for the past like 6 mths (maybe tmi) sry but intercours has been VERY painful and one time my husband would feel it and the next time he wouldnt. well last night it fell out!! i dont know what to do. i am cramping really bad and also im worried cause we had had sex the ight before and i am afraid that it was moved then allowing me to become pregnant. what do i do?

my cramping lasted for 2 months hang in there its well worth the pain
