Yes i really believe it is Dermatitis aswell, i've had it for years in my ears and scalp but only recently in my vagina, it gets itchy and cracks and bleeds. i've been putting my steroid cream there and it relieves it and softens the skin up too. It even gets white dry skin just like my scalp does. Def not a fungal infection, if it were there would be extra discharge too. This is only dry cracking and bleeding skin folds in the vagina, right! I too have just had an std test and it came back clear. U can get creams over the counter at the chemist aswell, without seeing your doctor, but they wont be the steroid kind. Might still help though. I think our diet plays a role in skin conditions aswell. Anyway goodluck everybody, hope you find some relief and hope ive helped a little. :)

Maybe you are right. I'm cracked and very sore on the outside. Last night the cream burned so bad I ended up with vasoline and it felt better.

A yeast infection can return sometimes if you have a single partner as men can also get yeast infections so you can pass it back and forth. A man can have a yeast infection and not even know it. As they have no outer symptoms. So beeing married it would explain why it returns after sex with your husband or the same partner. I have this problem too. And it makes sex hard because as soon as it heals we're able to have sex, and then its back, so no sex for awhile. But it also occaisionaly happens without sex. Yeast infeection creams help alot but its not a cure. And I think the scratches and broken skin happen from itching ourselves though you may not think so as we itch ourselves alot more in our sleep. I dont know if its really caused by a yeast infection but the ingredients help the itching and the healing. But that could be because the ingredients promote healing. A yeast infection could come from a diet that doesnt promote a PH balance in our system or so I am told. And the part about it happening after menstruation could also come from the loss of your PH balance due to the loss of nutrients as you bleed. On or off the subject a woman shouldn't eat or use products within or without of her body that is too high in acidity or too alkaline. That I suppose would also include tampons, lotion or anything else that touches any part of your body.

Hi there,
I'm not sure if your problem has been resolved, or if my own is related at all, but incase any other women in a similar predicament to myself find themselves on this forum, I thought I should share.

For the past year, I have been experience vaginal tearing. This appears a few days before my period and lasts until a few days after I finish. Along with this, I develop itchy, red, and painful rash spots around my face and body in the exact same places every month. I have been told that this is Autoimmune Progesterone Dermatitis (still waiting on confirmation), but believe that the vaginal tearing is Chronic vulvovaginal pruritus as a result of APD.

Hope this might help.

I have the same on going problem for three years longer then when I was diagnosed with herpes type 1 a year ago I have some tips you can try that have helped me 1: The idea is to keep the area as dry as possible to promote faster healing OK so Using a cotton ball, pat baking soda or cornstarch on the affected area to dry them out and decrease itching. I would go the cornstarch route the last time I used baking soda it hurt and stinged so bad it was a terrible feeling that I don't ever want to experience ever again just be careful not to double dip 2: a nice warm bath I like to add Epsom salt and tea tree oil it helps sooth vagina. Once your finish dry yourself very well. dry key! I think the reason the cuts never heal is because there of moister in between creases which keep the cuts wet preventing them from ever healing Moisture tends to build up in all skin folds, especially in areas subject to high levels of sweat, the groin and crotch area (around the genitals, anus and in between the buttocks). The skin is not in contact with the air, and becomes hot and damp, increasing the likelihood of secondary fungal infections. Unwanted sores or cuts. The skin in skin folds is more delicate and thinner than in other areas. It cracks when it becomes excessively moist. Take care to wash it gently, try to prevent sweat building up, and dry it carefully afterwards. You should try to keep the skin folds as dry as possible, So I hope this is valuable to you :-)

Im 16 and I have had this same problem for about 5 years now, but do you get them just on the outer part? I get mine on the outer and inner part and I'm scared that if I run this by my mom that she will automatically assume that I am having sex. I get them really bad usually right before my period and then my period irritates them so bas that they are even  worse after it. First I get really itching then I kind of feel my skin start to thin.  Its like they are there under the skin at first and then they start off as small circle cracks, then they become bigger as they itch more and burn more from urine and water.  Lately they have been appearing all over the outside too though, like in the creases and folds. Someone please help me. I'm just a teenager and I'm scared that since this is progressively worse that this could become something terminal. I stay up countless nights crying because I really fear how this will affect my future.

Everyone, the only thing that works immediately to sooth this for me is castor oil, one drop lavender and one drop myrrh essential oils heals it up in one to two days with applying it every time you go to the bathroom, but be sure to have clean hands and wear a panty liner so the castor oil doesn't stain your clothes.

So horrible!

Have gone through all of the testing now for every STD under the sun. Monogamous 10 year relationship, after 20 year marriage,  though the testing alone was stressful, embarrrasing  and scary;  All negative thank God!

Still these horrid, painful cuts, like paper cuts on both sides of my labia.  Have changed all of my soaps both bath and laundry, now using diaper cream!  Going back to MD tomorrow. I have RA so now wondering if it might be auto immune ( had psoriasis like patchy  deal last month which prompted all of the STD testing)...I take probiotics daily, eat very healthily and take good care of my 50 year old body.....so upsetting.

I am a nurse.  This whole thing  is really nasty and upsetting.  And yes, as many of you mention a real damper on the romance/sex department.  Thanks for listening. I wil post an update if and when  they figure it out.  UGH!
