I've followed and read messages here for a few years now and I have finally found what the problem was...
I got back pain from all drugs, Marijuana, alcohol, tramadol, LSD, speed, kokaine, everything except one particular drug. This drug was Xanax. About 3 years after I started getting the pain (which was there also when sober, just not as bad) I realized this, so I told my doctor and she said it was probably psychological pain. I could sort of understand that but was skeptical because it seemed to obviously physical in nature, the pain. She described Saroten and after a while the pain went away completely.... Turns out it was some sort of expression from repressed anxiety. Which sounds totally crazy to me, but the medicin worked so I guess it must be true.
I've been going on a drug tear lately, no pain and all.. I hope this can help someone.

I have the same problem! I think, perhaps its the way its grown these days, With all the chemicals used to grow the stuff, eg Growth hormones, bloom, and not flushing thoroughly. Back in the day!!, grown naturally outdoors in the sun, and not indoors under lights. After all its a weed, Hence the name. Maybe that's why the hippies were happy! Now its just for the dollar..

I'm experiencing something very similar right now. It's frustrating. I use marijuana for pain relief or for recreational relaxation and then I feel like you described.

I've been suspecting anxiety of playing a key role in the pain I'm experiencing. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes, same here. I’m a heavy daily smoker. In the last few years I noticed an intense energy and spasm in my lower back, mostly like my hips are in a vice. I smoke so much I haven’t attributed it to weed. However, recently I took a 4 week break, and was surprised that the pain and spasms went away at night too. Yes, I take pain killer (tramadol) for the spasms.

I’m glad I found this thread as there is almost no information online about marijuana exacerbating pain. My story is similar to the stories of others here. Ingested weed in the form of edibles (rarely smoked) for 4-5 years with no issues. But then the pain started, in my chest and shoulders. Weed would make the pain soooo much worse. I was diagnosed within the last year with spinal stenosis. Whether weed contributed to the degeneration of my spine or merely makes the spine issues I have worse, I don’t have the answer to. But for whatever reason I’ve come to the unfortunate conclusion and weed and me simply aren’t compatible anymore. It’s a shame but there are worse things. Maybe someday when weed is fully legal in more parts of the country someone will study this.

Hi guys, LP signing in again, & likely for the last time (beware of imitations!) as I have found the answer to our problems. Turns out a medical research paper actually confirmed & resolved this almost a decade ago! Also turns out I personally was half right, or at least on the right track.
People who get pain, have underlying issues. It's that simple, & explains why some get no pain at all (they're either lucky or haven't done a day's work in their life).
There's no tricks, complicated chemicals or nutrients, or strain explanation. Nada.
It's this- Cannabinoids dock in our Endocannabinoid system...but what you definitely didn't know is that it acts as a switch, ALLOWING pain signals to pass through freely. It is switching off the Dampener chemicals our bodies naturally produce. These experiments were extremely thorough, we're talking live rats, dissected rats, every type of xray, electro currents, time lapsing, & of course humans.
So, were we all 'duped' into believing the alternative in regards to pain management specifically? I'll let you all make up your minds on that yourself in your own spaces. I still am resigned to it being a modern miracle of a medicine. Why? Because all drugs have some side effects, & I'd suffer almost anything to reap the multitude of other benefits pot brings me, not least of which is making a truly evil world much more than tolerable.
If your pain is unbearable might I suggest treating the underline cause more vigorously and/or retreating to consuming your cannabis without smoking it.
You guys aren't crazy!!, but I suspect some of the advice you've relied on or trusted thus far (ie. psychosomatic, anxiety etc) is. In regards to pain, it's all garbage.
Take care everyone. Unless you find a cure now I'd think it's best to move on with your lives, back in the real world, or even onto new unresolved conspiracies. If the 'thread-committed' want to further research the differences between indica & sativa (which there ARE differences, incl the effects produced) you might just discover or at least bring thread followers steps closer to a 'happy medium strain' in turn making them more than medium happy!
/thread??! ;)

This is so what happeneds to me, I just feel horrible back pain to where I just have to lay down and then I end up falling asleep from laying down, stretching helps and if you can have someone to crack your back, I tend to drink like hot tea and sit with good posture helps me if you just relax and aren’t so tense,
