Final conclusion! Weed/thc dehydrates your body. But not in the same way as alcohol. Instead it takes water from areas like muscles, tendons, and joints, and puts the water in your internal organs. I experience the same pain. I have to drink about 3x more water if I am going to smoke. It will still hurt, but less. the pain can last days afterward... remember thc is a chemical and it will take your liver and kidneys to process it Out of your body.

Well dude as you know weed relaxes your muscles that's why u feel so laid back and when you overload your joint with tobacco u are due to have detrimental effects on the body because your smoking say a half for a month alright you need to be overloading good food into your body to counter act like the munchies you probaly eat is gluten so your not putting the nutrients back into your body hence weakness look it up dude your losing weight

Pretty much the exact same thing for me so you're not alone.
This just started about a year ago for me but I'm also a daily user and some days I smoke a lot. Been smoking it for a very very long time and never thought it could be the reason for my back pain.
Going to stop and see what happens...not going to be easy but can't live with this pain any more.

Amazing post.

I too get widespread pain when i smoke. In my chest (sternum) right down my entire back. I personally think the pains are already there, but the brain has shut those nerve paths off as a built in self pain management mechanism. And weed wires those nerve paths back up.

I'm not a regular smoker, I'm 22 and have back pain. I have had post back pain for a while but now it's starting to become much more of a regular occurance. I find myself awake at all hours of the night and can't relax my body. My right shoulder aches, my lower back and my whole back feels tight and all over the place.
On a rare occasion I have smoked a little weed and it's actually made majority of my pain go away. Generally I can still feel the major ache spots but atleast I can identify exactly what is causing the pain easily and guaranteed and it's easier to find a way to fix it.
I could get on with life without complaining or being irritated by my back. Until it wears off. So it's definantly a short term effect for a quick cure.
I don't think that back pain is particularly related to smoking weed, because in small doses it really helps existing pain.
As a long term relief I would be particuarly consoulting with someone who can talk about stretches, excersises and postures to help relieve some of these symptoms.
I'm a bit concerened on the long term effects being a "regular smoker" could be on my lungs and my body in general.
I have back pain. It's honestly just an inconvenience because I need it to go to work, maintain a household, raise a family, drive all the common duties we all generally need to be fit and on our feet to complete daily.
If anyone has any good routines to make back pain a bit more comfortable please feel free to reply. I'd appreciate it a heap.

My back hurts everyday and the only thing I can attribute it to is smoking. It may be my lungs and the pain is manifesting itself in my lower back where my kidneys or lower portion of my lungs are at. I'm tired of this I'm quitting, let's hope that does the trick.

Marijuana is a muscle relaxant which affects every muscle incl the heart (the strain is fairly irrelevant) so it works best for insomnia, seizures & spasms. The drug will alert you to all the pain & injury in your body. By the same token however it also psychosomatically relieves depression & energises spirit, which certainly does help almost any ill person function better (in overall life), not necessarily cure any pain. If anything it makes you more tolerant/mentally strong to deal with ever present pain. It's not for everyone, & don't be surprised by God's sense of humour/cruel jokes of making anything & everything in life we enjoy a double-edged sword. Back on point- when muscles are relaxed joints are weakened thus pain ensues. Pot will help you pop out your back pain! but for many people it will also be the catalyst of it reoccurring in the early instances. Plus, all smoking inflames joints a lot more, likely bringing on an irreversible tipping point until you quit smoking (anything) period. Using pot can be equally as important to a Fibro patient as them staying clear of it. It depends on the person of which we aren't just spiritually complex but also some carry complex problems which pot can be a great all-in-one silver bullet for. Pot isn't perfect, however the majority of medical users & recovering hard drug/pill addicts are perfectly happy with it. Regular drug detoxes/abstinence are priceless too-important to note. It's a crazy world, we aim to lean more on the good kind of crazy, it beats the alternative. Goodluck :)

Apologies to Moderator, I only realised soon after links weren't allowed & I appreciate your fair & competent edit. I wasn't even going to do a link but decided to last minute as I was too tired to come up with an identifiable forum name here. Whole thing was spare of the moment, & on a side note if you're curious as to how a regular 'DOPE' smoker as myself retains coherency it is that I use lower potency/proportion ratios, which I'm sad to report such advice & practice is rare indeed. In summary, EVERYone in this thread has underlying health issues that don't require more pot, but less or none at all. Thank you.

I have had muscle pain from basically all drugs and alcohol (except for bensoes, curiously) for years now. Suddenly I started experiencing other symptoms and after a doctors visit it seems I have a hormonal issue in the thyroid gland. If anyone here think this might be a possible cause you should check the list of symptoms, it's pretty long but the most obvious for me was a very high metabolism. I am 181 cm tall and only clock in at 53 kg, even though I eat more than most and do not exercise. If anyone have a similar weight problem + the muscle pain, perhaps see a doctor, it's a simple blood test.
