I have been a regular pot smoker since roughly my senior year of high school which was 2005. So I would say I have smoke regularly for a dozen years. Mostly daily with few breaks in between, except for when I got on probation pee in a cup kinda thing. I love to indulge on the smoke of weed, there is something so satisfying lighting one up with your friends and shooting the sh*t after or drinking a beer and smoking a nice fat one. Don’t get me started when I started to date my wife in 2011, every now and then she would smoke out with me and we would “be humans” and make the most unguarded love that was so freeing and natural. About the time I started to date my wife I felt a slight pain on my left side of my spine lateral to my shoulder blade. I felt like it was a tight tension like the nerve next to it was taught and pulling on my spine. I noticed myself stretching to the right side and popping it quite a bit. I chalked to up smoking out of a little metal “sneak-a-toke” pipe. Well about 2 years ago after my dad died I smoke out of another metal pipe and somehow that week I woke up with the most painful stiffness in my neck. It would hurt to breathe in on the side of my neck. The tension was mostly on the left side but a little on the right but the left side felt like the tension went all the way down to that tension I had always felt on my left side spine and it would feel like a knot underneath my the base of the left side of my neck. I feel like I need to pop it by stretching my neck to the right side and finding this popping sound happening from the side to the base of skull/neck all the way down to the left side of my spine where the pain started. I noticed the pain seemed to come more after I smoke weed. I feel some relief when I don’t smoke which sucks because I like to take the edge off and get high. Well basically I have tolerated this pain for 2 years but just the other day and my wife woke up and said she feels a pain on the side of her spine on the left side and feel like a tight/taught nerve going up the base of neck/skull. She was in so much pain that she could look to the left side. I have never told her that I feel that same pain but it scared the sh*t of it because my wife is my dream come true and I would rather die and not live if she were ever not in my life anymore. She had only recently been smoke regularly for maybe a little under 2 years but just woke up with this pain. I feel like I was the one who introduced her to weed and the indulgence of it and of course we have enjoyed it but I told her after she woke up with that pain that we were both quitting smoking weed. For the most part the pain has subsided in both of us but I can still feel the stiffness in my neck and left side of spine and she feels the slight pain on the left side of her spinal column just lateral to the shoulder blade. It really scared me to think she was getting the same symptoms has me and I just feel responsible to be a patriarch in her life and lead by example. I do not want my wife to hurt and I provide everything for her in our lives, so it seems like we are going to not smoke anymore which kinda sucks because we both enjoyed getting high and naked together and just being humans together. I am hoping that my state will legalize weed soon and we will have a market that will give us access to marijuana that is edible or maybe organic hasish. When we went spain we were able to get a few grams of Grade A hashish. I would take the slightest bit of it and roll it up into a little ball that looked like “rat poop” you know little nuggets of dropppings you notice if you see mice presence. It basically was the size of a mouse dropping. Just eating that whole and we would feel the effect within the hour. It was great because there is not eating lots of calories putting it into brownie or cookies and was discreet and simple to store and keep compared to flower, much less you don’t need to smoke it. I hope that her pain will go away. I feel like I can tolerate a life with a little pain but I do not want my wife to suffer at all. I would rather take her pain and do anything I can to make it better. I wish I could go back in time and not ever introduce to her weed smoking. I wish my state would legalize and create a market so we could get access organic hasish that we could just consume by eating it whole. Any thoughts?

Okay, so I smoke like everynight. and when I stop even for a night my backbone starts shivering. I have no idea how to explain the pain. It’s good but too much of anything is worse. In my opinion and I still smoke but hopefully will leave this since living is more important than smoking a pipe.

Could be an allergic reaction my mother will become violently sick if she smokes. And lupus and fibromyalgia would better explain your intense pain than the marijuana

Absolutely. I smoked fairly regularly for many years but as of a few years ago, when I smoke - if not immediately, but within a couple of hours - my body aches unbearably. Just does. It's not worth it and you know what? It's not such a big deal. Not everyone needs to smoke weed, it's not a panacea and there are many other ways to feel good. Stop smoking weed and move on.

IF IT HELPS YOU THEN SMOKE. MY WIFE WAS B/P IF IT IS REAL BAD YOU SHOULD SEE A DOC. I KNOW B/P CAN BE VERY BAD MY WIFE WOULD LAY IN BED SOMETIMES FOR 2/3 MOUNTHS. AND WHEN SHE WAS ON HER MEDS IT HELPED. WHEN SHE WOULD STOP SHE OFF LEVE THE HOUSE FOR WEEKS AT A TIME. SO IF YOU NEED HELP GO TO A DOC. MAY THE OR LORD JESUS CHRIST BLESS YOU AND YOUR'S. I WILL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYS.

YO!
this works. I have had slight back pain since i was ~15 and i am 19 now. started abusing percocet for almost 2 years now. I told myself that these pills help my back -which in my mind they did. i did not experience the back pain. but it was because i was high as a kite! so bad for the brain. this has led me to drop out of a very prestigious college. ruined relationships. i turned into a liar. but what hurt so bad is that i was not a liar and not a bad person. i was the opposite. which led to depression, etc. i have probably been through at least 20 withdrawals. opiates WILL become something that you regret. currently 2 weeks clean, but this is where my story relates to this thread. Me and my friends have been smoking since I was 16 and we loved it. I LOVED IT. During my withdrawals, i read that mj would help. so during my wds i would smoke almost 24/7. it helped. but it didnt help the back pain. during my wds, the worst part was how bad my back hurt- which made me want to pop another pill. just terrible. still, on 2 weeks, my back hurts, but i have come to a realization that it is all in my head, and it is my brain making my back hurt, to get that high again. im addicted. i dont want to pop another pill but it is almost like i cant help it. sorry for the off topic, but now, whenever i smoke, the back pain comes back, and comes back bad. to the point where i am in a bad mood and just feel like i wont get better then i get paranoid etc. its honestly, unbearable. this simple excercize that i quoted does work though. will have to try it next time i smoke (tonight). i still smoke, even though it makes me feel terrible. couldnt tell you why, other than the fact that it puts me out of reality i guess.

if anyone has any info on what my brain is going through, and has tips, i would love to hear.

I had chronic hip pain for 5 years, I swore up and down marijuana helped calm my back pain, eventually I lost my job and had to move in with my aunt who doesn’t allow it in there house, I smoked heavy everyday and quit cold turkey and my back completely went back to normal, I can’t say that it’s what started my back pain but I got the idea it’s one of two things from smoking. Smoking caused me to have super high anxiety and depressive thoughts, which can lead to physical pain, or I mostly believe I injured my back and the coughing from smoking never allowed it to heal. Just my opinion and I believe marijuana is great for some people and terrible for others.

Dude I was just like you. If you having bad thoughts while stoned you may chill. I had it for 5 years and smoked every time from that time. Had terrible thoughts and lost reality, I quit cold turkey and a month later I’m completely fine

I am 24. I was in a car accident over a year ago and was diagnosed with a buldging disc. I also do manual labor for work and am afraid I have (Digenerative Disc Disease) I have smoked 4-5 times a week for the past two years. Up until recently the pain in my back became so much more prevalent when I smoked that I had to stop.

My best conclusion is that Marijuna, being a muscle relaxant, makes the muscles supporting my back/disc/ posture go limp. Therefore allowing more compression and pressure on my disc which trigger the nerves in my back that cause me pain.

I used to look forward to coming home after a long day of work and smoking but now, with my back the way it is (not fully healed) it makes the paid and aches worse.

Try stopping for a period of time ( a couple weeks or a month) and see if how you feel. Only you know your body the best

I also get lower back pain from smoking weed. It kept getting worse till one night it got so bad. I actually had a severe allergic reaction and had to go to the hospital. Everyone told me I was crazy and "It's not from smoking." So I smoked a little and I started having a reaction to it again so I took a allergy pill and everything calmed down and no back pain. When it starts getting worse it's pretty scary and being high doesn't help calm you down so be careful. I won't smoke anymore because of it.

Hi NO if anything it relaxes and eases back pain but due to it being illegal in most countrys its not offered as a aid for your pain refief also ive never actually heard of allergies caused by weed as it is a natural grown plant but if u think u maybe allergic stop for few days and if u have same symptoms after start using it again then u have your answer but no medical person wil test for it xx

You do realize you can be allergic to almost anything these days like grass, flowers, trees, vegetables and fruits. Those are all natural grown things also. And actually yes you can get tested for a marijuana allergy(I'd probably do it in a state it's legal). Try having an allergic reaction to it and see how calm you can be. Not easy. My back starts hurting really bad that I can't sit still. Then my sides start to hurt and tighten up. Then my back gets hives and starts to burn and itch. Then that runs up my body. Lips and tongue get numb and chest tightens up. Not a fun time. I've smoked for about 2 years and most times my back would hurt. Not til recently it started getting worse. I smoke even a little and I'll get an allergic reaction.
