This same thing happen to my ..i was having terrible cramps today, i new my period was coming it was on time but i started a week late on this months pills, i am on yaz, and i didnt think much of it. Today i felt like i sort of peeped on my self, so i thought my period must of came, wheni went to look i had a huge piece of tissue come out about 3 inches or less long. pinkish and a little bloody. I cant find anything on it, and im not sure what it is... i hope its not a misscarriage
Did anyone ever get an answer to this tissue type stuff. This just happened me last night for the first time ever and it kinda freaked me out. I have been searching the internet all morning and havent come up with anything. Anyone any the wiser???
It sucks that we are misled into thinking the tissue we pass normally are "clots". Menstrual fluid DOES NOT CLOT. It's totally normal to have chunks of flesh in your flow.
One awesome book that talks about this (and other body biology things) is Woman: An Intimate Geography by Natalie Angier. Every woman should read it. Every woman should also pressure their doctors to stop referring to "clots" and making women feel crazy or that something's wrong when they notice the obvious: that it is TISSUE.
I think it's awesome that women are taking hunks of it into their doctors to look at. If we all did that maybe they would catch a clue. It really shocks me that even female doctors apparently have so little curiosity about their own bodies that they've never really looked closely at what their menstrual fluid is composed of. All you have to do is take a chunk to the sink and wash it off or play with it a little and see what it is. I don't think that's weird or freaky or abnormal: it's a natural way to understand your body and its processes so you really will be able to tell if something unusual is going on.

I just had the same thing happen to me and it scared me quite a bit, as I worry what it is exactly and if its normal (huge clumps of flesh/skin)? But someone made a prior post which made the most sense if it is happening to you and that is "not enough estrogen.....what happens is the tissue gets weak and falls away in pieces. Doctor says its relativity normal.....no risk of not being able to carry- its just my body getting rid of excess tissue"
I had an unusal situation today - I too passed a piece of 'tissue' that was like chicken breast, about 2 inches square. I normally don't touch this stuff, but I've never seen anything like this - especially coming from my own body! I was glad to see that someone else also had the same issue, but I will go to my OBGYN on Monday if it continues.
I just had the same thing happen to me last night. Does anyone know for sure what exactly this is? This was so unexpected.
About three weeks ago, I got on the shot, so obviously I was very surprised when I couldn't move due to horrendous cramps (worst I've ever had). I began bleeding shortly after, but it was rather light. This morning I woke to find a strange "chunk" of something in my drawers - I took a closer look and it was translucent and thick. It was small, but when I went to the bathroom, several more of these "things" came out. It wasn't a steady stream of blood like my periods normally look like -- these were very distinct, very separate "chunks" of blood and whatever else that stuff is. An answer would be so appreciated...

so everyone on here is freakin out, asking what it is... then alot of you say you are going to the gyno to figure it out.... THEN YOU DON'T COME BACK AND TELL US WHAT IT IS OR ISN'T.... isnt that the whole point of this forum?? to ask questions THEN get answers!!! where are your ppls answers?? if you went to the doctor, come back and tell us if we need to go tooo....
I am glad to see I am not alone in this but I think I am a bit different then the most of you. I am not on B.C. and never have been. I am not Sexually active. This happens to me usually once a month. There is first a sharp pain like nothing i have ever felt before in my life and then I can actually feel the tissue pass. (sorry if that is graphic). I have looked online and not found anything but worried women. I am worried only because I hope it is not hurting my chances of a future family. I am scared to go to the doctor about it.
actually this happens all the time during my periods i bleed very heavy and have a lot of bloody "clots" tissue what ever its always been this way. I know that it doesn't hurt your chances of getting pregnant because i have two children and getting pregnant as really easy.
Hi, I just started a new B.C: Yasmin, I had the hope that my cramps would lighten up along with that of decreased anxiety which this pill is said to be especially good for. The first few weeks on the pill I experienced occasional random sharp pains in my uterine area. I thought nothing of it, rationalizing that it was just my reproductive system a little out of whack and trying to get on a new path toward regularity, etc.
Then I started having severe cramping. I began "spotting" and then fully bleeding. The cramping is still going on, it is quite consistent, some of the worst pain I have ever felt.
The pain has been so bad, I've been having to take sometimes 15-20 Advil/pain reliever a day, which I think is also causing me digestion issues. (I am quite thankful for heating pads!)
Anyways, today I experienced a new "symptom," that of these lovely blood chunks. I had a few, pardon my blunt manner, essentially fall out of me as I used the bathroom. Startled I took note and can tell you they were over an inch long, and like others, were somewhat transparent-like. I am a little shooken up over this (and am waiting for my doctor to call back) as it seems abnormal for such "pieces" to be falling out of there. I wonder if these are actual pieces of my uterus? Is something really wrong down there? I'm just praying that everything stays in tact and I don't start hemmoraging or something.
I should also mention that I have been experiencing all this even after stopping the pill. I decided to stop thinking this must not be the right hormone for me, but still the pain and discomfort continues.

I am so glad i found this website. I too am on Yaz and just passed two tissue like substances. The felt and looked like the skin from chicken. I freaked out and thought maybe i had a miscarriage and didn't know it and it was placenta or something. This blog made me realize it is probally just tissue from the uterus lining. If anyone knows any more details about this please let me know
its normal, im pretty sure ur doc's will tell you so. your body is just shedding the tissue it normally sheds during ur period (just like others have posted/replied before)....bc thats what ur period is...right? And if ur saying it never did this before....well either you never noticed it before bc u never looked or you didnt see it because the tissue was breaking free in little iddy bitty pieces. The pill messes with our hormones and it(the tissue) is just shedding differently......if ur that worried go to the dr. let us know what they say.....basically thats what my dr told me years ago.....my periods have always been clotty. o.O
8-| jeez where are all the kind loving doctors at when you need them? I don't even have health insurance and I'm experiencing the same as everyone else, I just hope it's not the Birth Control.
I've just experiened white tissue, like chicken skin in with a regular clott and I just started taking Yaz. This is my first period on it. I know I didn't have a misscarrage because I'm not sexually active.
I called my docotor and he said not to worry about it unless there is excessive bleeding and you have to change your pad every hour. It's my body getting adjusted to the pill. but ooooh it hurts. I'm with the other girl thank goodness for heating pads. It's not abnormal for me to pass quite a bit of tissue, but it's never been white before and this is a little stringyer and tuffer than I'm used to.

I too am on Yaz and began passing these tissue like pieces of...well...tissue. I'm not going to the doctor as it's truly useless and I haven't been able to find any answers to it also. I want to know the results to some of these biopsies. So little attention and funding is provided for 'women's issues' that I'm not expecting to find an answer. Look how long it's been on this forum and still no answer. And "normal" isn't sitting well with me. I want composition. Reasons. Estrogen levels where this is seen. Good luck my fellow sisters in finding answers.
