Hi, I am wearing a holter monitor for 3 days, now, to diagnose my condition, since my heart speeds up enormously after eating. I definately suffer from tachycardia. My ranges after eat are 120-150 bpm. What could be the reason?

Hi All, Look into autonomic dysfunction. Y'all are all describing an autonomic reaction to eating. Vanderbilt has a center for this. It's new. Check it out
Hi , I am 46 years old . I have had all of these systems for years. About four weeks ago I got very ill and found out my pancreas enzymes were 280. Normal is 0 - 60. I have lost 26 lbs in 8 weeks. I can only eat jello, fruit, fish and vegetables without having horrible pain in my upper abdomin and behind my shoulder blades.I feel like I am withering away. I have been to the emergency room twice in eight weeks foe dehydration and abdominal pain. The GI doctor has done galbladder function test and my galbladder is at 65% which is in the normal range but I really think all this is caused by my gallbladder so I am going to see a surgeon next week. I just want my life back! I am praying the surgeon will agree to take the gallbladder out and all will be well. I will update soon!      Oh by the way ...Went out to eat tonight. Had basked fish, potatoes and grilled veggies and my heart was racing after about 30 minutes and I feel like I am having another attack! It was restaurant food so maybe they cooked the fish in butter ! Ugh!,,,
Hi to Guest about your skipped beats? I have had this for 3 years now hunny. As long as they say it is benign then you can do what i did if you want to. I started to take Magnesium. It does take at least 6 months at least to show a big difference. But you will see it faster than that.Be sure to not miss the doses. I started out at first the wrong way and just was in the bathroom a lot and it helped. But I am sure your like me and rather not be in the bathroom all the time. lol So I started taking them like a Doctor told me. He said take a pill cutter and cut it into 4 and take 1 quarter every 6 hours. You will feel better and btw ...^.~ It is something your body already uses. Be sure to get the right kind. Just research it ok.
I have had this same issue....... did you ever figure out what caused this?

I also had SVT, and slowly over time changed my diet largely to what Jeremy has stated. Food in the U.S. is everything that's wrong with a country which chooses medication over prevention invariably. Obamacare you say? Our society is hung up on the wrong issue - we should be investing 100 fold more in safe food production, handling, and sustainable agriculture, NOT investing more money in 'treating' health problems that shouldn't be arising in the first place.
You just described my exact symptoms. I wish a doctor could help and stop saying it's just anxiety. It is something physical with digestion that triggers the rapid heart beat which triggers the panic.
Get your gut right and it will go away. Doctors only make it worse because they are clueless when it comes to nutrition and digestive health. Look up water kefir, it's easy to make, cheap, and will transform your gut and this problem WILL go away. You are clogged up with toxins and your screwed up digestive system can't digest your food and clean your system. Forget the doctors and their meds. I went through this for years and finally woke up and took matters into my own hands. If you can contact me I'll even send you kefir grains to get you started.
I think your post is brilliant! Thank you for that information.
I think it is something they have put in the food.
That absolutely is a HUGE part of it. Look up excitotoxins and BT Toxin in genetically modified corn (which is in practically everything) . You're being killed by that foodlike chemical crap you're ingesting.
I know this was posted years ago but I am 31 and have the exact same thing!! From being able to know when a skip is coming to feeling like a prisoner.... Please of you figured out a way to help this or know what this is please help me !!
I know this post was written some time ago, but I have this too. Doctors seem to think I am crazy..and its all just anxiety. But however as it has been said when it happends its scary!! Mine goes up to 160 after eating, i recently got put on a beta blocker for SVT but even still after i eat alot of the times i get that discomfort in my chest and it feesl as if my pulse trys to go up. I have done everything including a change in diet you name it. No one has the answers though....I just dont get why it would go up after eating...specially if i ate syrup on my pancakes it would shoot up to 180 so i can no longer eat that. My regular doctor seems to think it has something to do with the vagus nerve..but really unsure, i have had every kind of test there is and all are normal!
This helps alot. Thank you so much. If I have any other question I will write again. Thank god I just moved to canada..hopefully the food is a little bit more healthier? I have been sticking to organics but not seeing a bit of change just yet.
As a 55 year old man who had twice been admitted to emergency with a rapid, irregular heat rate, approx 130-140 and on both occasions had to be shocked to convert the heart back to normal, I can say with a lot of conviction, that you need to do the following things. First, get your heart checked thoroughly by a specialist and once it is shown that the problem is not your heart then next, get your thyroid checked, this was my issue, it is the organ in your throat that can cause irregular heart beats among other symptoms and is affected by your diet. Next go here....http://arealfoodlover.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/50-ways-caffeine-effects-the-human-body/   and read, read, read about the poison that is called caffeine......then cut it out of everything you eat because it is hidden everywhere....add aspartame and all other artificial sweetners to that and then add MSG which is used way too freely in our food from soups to bread.....next, get food allergy tests.......I had developed an allergy to gluten and of course, wheat is a filler in nearly everything we eat.......keep going, add the five deadly whites, sugar, salt, starch, milk and flour to the list and you can see that during your life you bombard your body with so much crap that after a while it has trouble keeping up or just gives up.Now add alcohol, drugs(legal or illegal),tobacco and on and on and you can see what can happen. I was never a bad eater or heavy drinker but the caffeine and the aspartame caused my thyroid to slow down and when I cut out all the crap,it slowly started to recover......it took almost a year of good eating, losing the flab and taking care of myself until the doctors finally stopped all my blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, pain meds and all the thyroid meds that I needed because my body was breaking down....oh I still have a go at the wrong foods every once and while and I love a scotch with a cigar but in moderation and I eat 5 small, healthy meals a day to make digestion easier and voila.......sitting heart rate is 55, BP is 110 over 70 and I am 57 now. I was also showing markers in my blood for diabetes and they have disappeared as well. I am not saying that this formula is the solution for everyone but until you have gone through the terror of being anesthetized and defibrillated because your heart isn't working right and every time your heart skips a beat you panic and start sweating and your life sucks, then you take a long, hard look at what you are putting into your body and see if that might be the cause.....generally,nearly everything that goes wrong with the human body occurs for two reason, either it is genetic and you are predisposed to something happening or an outside agent is at work causing the problem....if you look at like this and you can eliminate the reason from a problem medically then all you are left with is what you put into yourself.
