Hi, I am wearing a holter monitor for 3 days, now, to diagnose my condition, since my heart speeds up enormously after eating. I definately suffer from tachycardia. My ranges after eat are 120-150 bpm. What could be the reason?

I get sinus tachycardia after eating. It starts about 30 minutes after I eat. It goes up to 120 bpm to 130bpm. I wore a 24 hour holter. Doctor said my heart was fine. And he prescribed Atenolol 25mg. That brings my hart rate to normal from 60 to 80 bpm. And after eating the higher that goes is about 95 bpm. So atenolol 25mg has helped me a lot... You should visit at least 2 doctors and what they say. I hope you feel better.
I've been having this since I was 18 years old. I was healthy other than rare SVT and anxiety. I was at a buffet and within 30 mins of eating I went into tachycardia. Thought I was having SET so I went to the ER. It was going about 130 sinus rythem. They injected me with about 2 MG of Ativan for anxiety .5 at a time. Each injectiomonth they would give a weird look at the heart monitor like 'why isn't it coming down' . Eventually 3 hours later it went down to around 80 and I was released with an anxiety diagnoses. Over the course of 4 years (I'm 22 now) I've had maybe two episodes per year up until last month. I've seen 2 family doctors both say anxiety and they don't know of anything that could cause such a thing. A liver and pancreas specialist ran blood tests, and MRCP, AND abdominal ultrasound all came back normal but my GVT levels so he didn't know what's going on. Called my cardiologist and he said it's very unusual, might be a food allergy so I'm going to see one of those doctors on Friday. I'm also going to see a gastro on Wednesday to discuss the possible diagnoses listed from other comments. In the past month it started off with maybe one meal, then gradually went up to every meal. What really hit home is that I took 5 bites of a snow cone aND i went into full blown SVT. leads me to think it's something sugar related. I can eat a light salad no dressing, some grilled beef with no bbq sauce, or some chicken breast. Eating just small portions of those will still make my heart rate go up, but not to where I can't keep calm andown wait for it to pass. What's also weird is that when it gets bad, my SVT medications have NO effect. When the snow cone incident happened I took an extra 100 MG of atenolol over an hour with no result. That was really alarming. I will definitely update after I go to the doctor on Wednesday. I am DETERMINED TO find what is causing this.
Your smytoms are same as mine. I know its been long since you posted it. I just want to know if you had diagnosis. I am seeing uper gi drs and lover gi i also saw a cardiologist and done plenty ecg but nothing they don't understand its the worst thing to live with even drinking tea brings it on.
I suffer from these issues and I believe them to be due to mast cell attacks. Look up mast cell activation syndrome and see if it matches your symptoms. During an attack, ask the doctors to check your serum tryptase levels.
I've experienced the same exact thing I can't eat processed food and too much sugar or I feel the same was and its awful. I realize i really have to continue to eat clean and no processed foods and sugar,
Have u found acure yet !!
It is not anxiety!!! That is what doctors say when they can't figure it out. Do you know how many millions of people have been told the same only to find out they have an autoimmune disorder (was my cause), a vitamin or mineral deficiency (mine also), or cancer, or many other diseases.
Its your vagus nerve, fast heart from ibs, maybe some is lactose intolerant so no dairy for 2 wks, then see if anymore happens. Take magnesium supplements, potasium, eat small 5-6 times a day. Breath with stomach muscles if happens. Drink only water for 1-2 days see if happens.
I have have the same EXACT symptoms you do. I am 42. I have been to the ER a couple of times and have been put on a beta blocker. I have noticed that it is far worse around when my body ovulates. That is when notice the symptoms are more severe. I also have heartburn and wonder what the link is. It sucks. It really does. I hate the feeling of almost passing out. It is not fun.
