Hi, I am wearing a holter monitor for 3 days, now, to diagnose my condition, since my heart speeds up enormously after eating. I definately suffer from tachycardia. My ranges after eat are 120-150 bpm. What could be the reason?

So I'm trying to find out the reasoning to this, I was told the same thing, "anxiety" was the cause until I brought food in to the ER with me and ate it and let the doctor watch and his eyes were wide, but the issue is, he actually said and admitted he didn't know what caused it. Mine gets pretty bad, Pulse sitting is around 100 to 105 but standing up after eating will be 120s to 130, lying down will be 90s, I have watched it closely, within 4 to 5 hours of eating it will start calming down.
I had a extremely bad attack tuesday, 140 just standing 120 lying in bed for 4 hours. Doctors all kept trying to say anxiety, here is the other thing I noticed, when I take my beta blocker after eating it does not come down at all. What that tells me is a few things, it's not anxiety, if it was, beta would bring my heart rate down, so it's something physical and my friend stated its not my heart because my heart would come down on the beta so it's a phyisical reaction to something...... Trying to figure it all out.

I am in the same damn boat, now I'm losing weight because of it because I don't want to eat. They gave propranolol and it's not working at all on the heart rate after eating. Cardiologist said they have never seen anything like this before and at the ER, I are food and let them watch it sky rocket to 130 because in sick of hearing it's just anxiety when it's not. I told the doctor, I should f#$!ing know if I'm scared to eat. Did you find out what is causing it?

Hey did you ever find a way to fix your problem? I'm experiencing all of the same things as you, I too don't really eat unhealthy and am shocked to see my symptoms directly matching your description. I have acid reflux, fast heart beat, loss of breath most of the time. It's gotten to the point that it really is affecting my life and well being. Please tell me if you found a way to cure yourself
I have the exact same symptoms. Accept I am also a recovering alcoholic , and abused it for 31 years. Now that I am sober this has become an issue.
Hello, I suffer from the same symptoms. I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's, which can cause tachycardia episodes. Have you had a thyroid panel drawn?
It's called a "postprandial hypotension" ! I have the same symptoms for over 8 years (I'm 26). After eating foods containing starches e.g. pizza, bread, cake, potatoes, cookie etc. I have the worst symptoms...
Coffee, green tea or fruits (caffeine, EGCG and flavonoids are alpha-glucosidase inhibitors) kinda mask the symptoms, but I would to heal from this...
Aside from above mentioned symptoms I have got dilated blue veins on the body, which to veeery dilate after eating carbs/starches :( Do you have the same symptom?
(Sorry for my English, it's not my mother tongue.)

Hi Charnae2010,
Have you found any answers? I suffer with the exact same issues as you. I am older but I can't figure out why this is happening to me.
I know you posted a long time ago and hope you are doing well but if your symptoms still there my advice is to ask your doctor for neck mri and see a neurologist. All your symptoms are connected they are caused by vagus nerve dysfunction
My fiance is 37 and just started having these issues about 9 months ago. I've changed him to a low sodium and as much low sugar and low grain and try not to use anything processed. It helped, but he's still having lightheadedness, dizziness and heart palpitations after some meals and if he ever tries to to drink. Any advice you have would be appreciated.
I agree with a previous poster that said that it sounds like a problem with the vagus nerve. I have vagal paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Go to YouTube and type in "gastrocardiac syndrome - heart palpitations caused by the stomach". The cardiologist in the video is really good at explaining the connection,
