Wow, couldn't better that sentiment myself. Your last sentence really hit home. I believe over the last 30 years of smoking pot. I have at least for 3 of those years, sat on my ass, smoking pot. Taking all the medical problems into account, it's the wasted years and loss of making a decent living that gets me. Smoking pot affects different people in different ways. Me? it makes me very lysergic. I can literally do nothing for a whole weekend, but smoke pot. I quit 5 days ago. I feel nauseated all the time, no matter what I eat. I'm also feeling some chest pains because I still smoke the Rolling tobacco ( didn't have those feelings before). Will quit those as well, when my packet runs out.
Wish me luck please.

Man, your wrong. i have been smoking since the 4th grade and am a chronic user. although it less addictive than other drugs, it still is. ppl say they don't want to quit just because there is no need to, but then when you're out, thats pretty much all you think about and you're scrapping resin outta your pipe just to get a head change. and if you are a chronic user, you'll have withdrawal symptoms, thats certain. like i said i think anybody can stop, its not crack, but it is still an addiction with very real withdrawal symptoms.

Yes it does. Marijuana has withdrawal symptoms such as migraines, vomiting, sweating, and shakes. I would know, I've been smoking since I was 11 and when I stop, I go through those withdrawals and I don't do any other drug, drink, or even smoke cigarettes and I'm very healthy. I only get sick like that when I stop smoking.

Since I was 21, i have never been not high. Anytime I feel the high going down, even by 10%, I'll hit the bong. Just had breakfast, lunch or dinner? Hit the bong. Just about to have breakfast, lunch or dinner? Hit the bong. About to set foot outside the house to do any kind of errand? Prima bong. About to attend class? You guessed it. I'm now 26, and though I didn't think cannabis actually slowed me down ( heck I think it sorta helped my ADHD, and I've always maintained above 3 pointer in my studies), like any type of drug (read: medication), you take it when/if you're sick. It's when you abuse it (or anything for that matter), that situations go south.

I always convinced myself that I am in control. I can stop whenever I want. I did start noticing that I'm becoming too content, with almost everything, which I now realize is just me not giving a damn about certain things, or going too hardcore on another. So i tried quitting about 2 years ago, lasted 2 month, and went back 24/7.

Now having a mirror in my brother, who's also a toker ( he started way earlier than me, at the tender age of 16), I started to see what my mom and sister were so hung up about me smoking some herbs.

Currently going on my 3rd day of withdrawal. All the symptoms are there:
- Nausea, to the point I can't even finish a quarter plate of rice without feeling the whole thing's just gonna come out again.
- Interchange of shivering chills, and sweaty hot. Check.
- As i'm writing this post, it's 8.30 a.m. I'm tired, I'm sleepy. I just can't sleep.

Luckily, the mood swings didn't (haven't?) caught up. But anyone claiming that there's no such thing as Cannabis withdrawal are dead wrong. It's more a matter of mild or intense. Then again, those who got to the "I want to quit" point, has probably went over board, like I have.

Currently, i'm trying to hold out with non-nicotine tobacco (the rolling type), whenever i feel my head is about to explode. And since my brother is going through the same thing, i guess it sorta help knowing i'm not going through this alone, so we're supporting each other and reading all the story in this thread helps even more.

I wish all of you who are trying to be better people all the best of luck. We can get through this guys! I believe in all of us.

Hey, I'm so glad I found this board because some people think I'm full of sh*t when I tell them what's been going on since I quit a week ago. I had only about two nights of sweats. But I still have weird dreams, trouble sleeping, cravings, stomach aches and (like when I quit tobacco over a year ago) my chest started to hurt and I'm sick as a dog coughing up phlegm. Upside is I've had sooooo much more motivation, I'm not as self conscious, and I'm actually retaining what I read in the Truck Driver License book I'm studying, lol, and I've started being the creative girl I used to be, before the almost daily use since I was 17 (33 now), sewing and doing crafts and sh*t. It's amazing! And I've already lost a couple of pounds since I don't get 'the munchies' being sober!

I hope everyone stays strong! Once you've experienced the positive side of quitting, hopefully you'll never go back! May the Force be with you!
