It is physically addictive. Any drug someone quits after prolonged use, that causes cold sweats, loss of appetite, irritability, loss of sleep, is physically addictive. I have quit for 1 week 7 days and the night sweats are finally getting better. Anyone who says it's not addictive has never consumed very much of it for very long.

It definitely will have you on your ass all day I’ve smoked everyday for the last 20 years and I am only 4 days clean I can’t sleep can’t eat and I’m loosing so much weight I just want to be free from anything that makes me feel like I have to have it I think the marijuana has changed over the years and it does start to weigh on your life if you smoke everyday but I’m done and don’t plan on looking back I have 3 children and just wanna be a true example for them

I'm terribly sorry but I believe you need to be more specific.... If cannabis is smoked for a short length of time.. for example 2-3+ months, then no real physical addiction is present but for an individual who has smoked it for several years or in my case 15+ years then YES, a physical addiction to Cannabis is HIGHLY possible and HIGHLY probable
Im on my 5th day of quitting and agree it slowly gets easier day by day but I'm 5 days in and very much still struggling...
I've thrown and disposed of all my smoking paraphernalia and politely updated all my friends that smoke it to not contact me for anything cannabis related.
Personally the most difficult problems I'm dealing with are the erratic emotional ups and downs and the strange light headed, cold yet hot sweats and all over shivers.
Bravo' to anybody who has successfully quit cannabis after smoking it non stop for over a decade... really BRAVO! I've dealt with some emotional and difficult situations in my past but genuinly nothing a difficult to deal with as Quiting cannabis so well done to all you successful quitters :)
Fingers crossed I'm able to continue the quitting and eventually enjoy life again cannabis free :)
Best wishes all

Well done and it was so good to read a message from someone with a similar mindset. "A true example for them" ... beautiful words.
Really hope you've done as you've planned. Your message alone has given me the added strength I needed and furthered my adamant quest to quit. Truly Many Thanks

You’re so uneducated as a cannabis user for many years and from countless studies cannabis can induce nightmares, nightsweats, tremors, nausea, and headaches and I personally get all 5 from it dumbass people trying to be like ohhhh cannabis is an angel drug... No it’s a fuvking drug just like any other one and should be treated that way

This is wrong and you are uneducated. This mindset/opinion that you and many others have that cannabis is not physically addictive is so wrong and people like the OP here should be Raising awareness. If you smoke enough on a daily basis the withdrawal symptoms can make you quite miserable. They can cause harsh nausea and irritability which can be difficult to deal with. Just because you and your friends smoke weed and never have any bad effects doesn't mean there's no physical addiction. It just means you don't smoke enough to be physically addicted

Been smoking every day, every day for the last 2 years. I mean abusing it, and I mean this. I didn't have a job, I know lazy sack of sh*t. But any way i would smoke every minute I could, and when your family grows ganja its possible. But it was almost to a point where I couldn't do anything with out having to smoke a bowl every hour or I would feel sick, i hated the sh*t out of that. So I decided to quit. Now this is not what I expected. Night sweats ,nausea, vomiting or feeling sick right after I ate. Soup is better. And shaking. The shaking really shocked me a bit. Writing my own name neat was, difficult. And trying to fallasleep was a w**** as well. I am on day five still feel kinda sickish. But I smoked every day every minute I could. And again I was a slacker so I had a ridiculous amount of time to smoke. All day all night. All the ganja I could smoke pretty much. But stay hydrated and sugar eat some sweets get your blood sugar back up. If you vomit stay hydrated and a banana should do you good. And the night sweats really dehydrate you big time. i tried to quit by on off smoking during the day, horrible idea, for me. So the next day I completely went cold on it. I had a full 8 hour sleep so I was sober. And continued the day that way. Way freaking easier to quit that way I feel. If you smoke at all you just want it more I feel. I know I haven't smoked for 10 20+ years but then again this day and age marijuana 20 years ago was a sad joke compared to the marijuana we have today. Smoked it all day long beyond being asleep for 8 hours, but you can beat it, but Mary Jane will sure as sh*t fight for your love, yes she will. Good luck all.

The withdrawal from marijuana tho. Is way easier to over come then any other drug on the planet. Or alcohol. If you think I am wrong. Why do we have rehabs? And in theses rehabs you will never find a pot smoker. You will find people who have smoked pot. But you will never find a pot only smoker in a rehab.

I quit four days ago and I have had to go to the ER for extreme nausea, shakiness, insomnia and vomiting. It feels like I’m withdrawing from heroine.. I had no idea weed could do this. Luckily all the research I’ve found shows you peak at 72 hours and we should feel better between 5-20 days.

Hang in there.

Hiya I'm the exact same I'm 19years old and I've been smoking for the last 4 years, I have been told I am worse than a man at smoking and that I put too much in and smoke too much, when I don't have it my hands will sweat loads and I'll feel agitated in the most slightest thing, I feel moody and just not myself but I really don't want to go on like this, I wake up and feel sick and if I don't smoke a spliff for a few hours I will sweat bad and just feel weak and sick, people say cannabis is not addictive but it is, because if it wasn't I could stop like that, I smoke all the strains from cheese, haze, stardog, so are very high strains of marijuana but I'm so used to it now is takes quite a few spliffs to get me high, I hope this helps and you get the help you need
