I don't use Apple Cider Vinager all the time, even though it is effective against yeast overgrowth, I found that I started growing cysts(which were easily erradicated with oil of oregano...), So heads up to moderate your intake...
Another product that helps tremendously with Candida is Virgin cold pressed Coconut Oil. About 1 tsp on your toast each day works wonders. So far, no ill side effects, but use as required. Product comes ready to use at most natural food stores and now at Costco!
Great product, check it out. Have you curbed your coffee intake yet? This had the biggest impact for me.
Good luck!
Kid
might sound crazy but put Head & shoulders shampoo on it b4 u get in the shower and do that everyday for a week. u might need to wet your inner thighs, but just a little. Rub it in before you get in shower use just a tad of water let it sit for one mn then hop in the shower and just leave it. Do once more b4 u get out
I went through something VERY similar. it was on my scrotum. the red itchy skin became leathery and would scab over. it would repeat over and over again for years. i attempted to self treat it through google images (bad idea) and figured it was some fungus. moral of the story i used some tinactin spray on the area. broke out with an illergic reaction which made my scrotum look like it suffered a 2nd degree burn pus blisters and all. they prescribed me some steroid cream and boom it hasn't come back.
Doc said he would cut my nuts off if I bothered him again,he says it's candise.
k guys, I have read through this long topic many times I have been dealing with the same issue for almost two years. My balls were extremely itchy and also in between my thighs on the sides as well as below my sack, all day, but worse at night. Would wake up and scratching like hell till the point of blood, then it would become smelly as the skin became raw staying moist constantly ive tried all the powders the lamisil early on i tried hydrocortizone until i realized thats a bad choice i have tried diluted tea tree oil and undiluted(please dont try this it burn the hell out it) recently bought zeasorb powder which worked well with the moisture but still wouldnt stop the itch
finally went to the doc last thursday and he took a look at it a described it as extreme jock itch or tinea cruris..... he then gave me a prescription for Nystatin and triamcinolone cream he said it was stronger than the clotrimazole or miconazole......... im on day 5 and i haven't experienced any itching well very little that wasn't very intense at all in the 1st two days but none after the first two days.
the cream is very expensive like 120 dollars but if you are near a krogers or a pharmacy that has the $4 TO $10 GENERICS program you can get it for 4dollars even though its the exact same thing
thanks 4 the info
I have the same thing on and off for years. Regularly I would go to the dermatologist and get a strong anti fungal cream, but after years of using these prescription drugs, my skin started breaking down and thinning out. I remembered back to when I was young and in school, how we treated athletes foot with iodine and it cleared it right up. So I went to Walmart and purchased generic 10% povidone iodine, generic lamisil, generic gentle skin cleanser, generic desitin and generic gold bond powder (total cost of about $20.00). Twice a day i cleaned the area with the cleanser, applied the 10% povidone iodine (let it dry), applied the generic lamisil, covered the area with the generic desitin and put on the powder (I used the powder throughout the day to keep the area as dry as possible). Within 10 days it has completely cleared up.
Short answer: Boudreaux's Butt Paste is working for me
I freaked out when I got this horrible rash down there and the bumps! At first, I thought I got crabs/lice from my gym locker. I immediately went went out and got a box of RID. Well, after 2 days, it got worse. I mistakenly then put Cortizone on it and it kept getting worse. Now I am really freaking out that I got herpes somehow. It didn't look anything like the pictures on hwerks so I was a bit relieved. I was ready to go to the doc and I came across this forum...whew!
Anyway, I went to Walmart and picked up both the Lamisil cream and spray. After a day, the cream gave some relief. The spray felt like bee stings in a can. It was almost unbearable. After a day it was still red and itchy. This wasn't going away any time soon.
After more reading, someone suggested Boudreaux's Butt Paste. I was desperate so I went back to Walmart. This stuff is in the baby section as it is used for diaper rash. They had Regular and Maximum Strength...I got the stronger one. It has the consistency of a thick paste that comes in a tube. It isn't greasy but it does keep the area moist.
Before this, I had been sleeping with a long folded up paper towel under my balls to keep them dry and off my thighs. The first night, I put this butt paste on and was expecting a sudden burn like the Lamisil...but nothing. What happened was the itching immediately stopped.
I woke up the next day and not only did the itching stop but the bright red was only 1/2 as bright and no pain! I am on my 2nd day using this stuff and it is a miracle so far. I put it on in the morning after a shower then at night after I shower again. I will post back with my results but I can already tell it is working. I will do what others suggested and keep using it for a couple of weeks after I can no longer see the rash.
I went through a year or more of hell like this and the medical profession either couldn't or wouldn't help me. I went out and researched and trialled my own cure. Please see www.acureforredscrotumsyndrome.com
I need to run next Thursday. mile time is 4:50, and i have this thing. used lamsil cream... failed.
I figured I would follow up my OP with an update.
This definitely took longer that I thought it would to heal. It has been 3 weeks now. I have been putting on the Butt Paste at night and in the morning. The area is still off color but not too bad. I mean, it looked like my skin fell off before I started. I don't have pain or the itching, though....whew!
I can now tolerate the Lamisil spray and have been using that only for the last few days. Mainly, it keeps the area dry.
The Lamisil cream or spray is pretty much worthless once this gets bad and your balls are sticking to your inner thigh. It is probably more useful as a preventative measure.
Like I mentioned before, I got the extra strength Boudreaux's Butt Paste. I went through 2 tubes of it. I think I paid around $5 each at Walmart.
Anyway, if you are reading this, there is no instant cure but it is curable. Just keep the paste on for the first 3 weeks and wash well, with a washcloth, when you shower. DO NOT use the Lamisil spray until it has had a chance to heal. Trust me, it will burn and bad!
