I understand that this forum is a few years old, but was anyone actually pregnant? Most women only suspected as much, but were there any actual pregnancies - and healthy, successful, full-term ones at that?
Thanks.

I was also thinking the same thing. I am 56 and my periods have just stopped in July. I keep telling myself I am too old to be pregnant but some of the stories I am findling make me think it is still possible. I only remember one poster on this board who came back to say she wasn't pregnant.

Hi Karen,
Nice to know I have sisters in this! Yes, I had regular periods up until July. When I didn't get it in August I thought menopause was kicking in and didn't think much of it. I always got breast tenderness about a week before my period but this time I had none. I started having hot flushes in August that lasted regularly until about 2 weeks ago, now they have minimized.Just a few days ago I started getting breast tenderness again and feeling like I might be getting a period but nothing. Don't know what to make of this, I've never been pregnant so I don't really know what those symptoms feel like, Im just hoping this isn't the case. My abdoman has been a little extended the last few months but I'm not having any other symptoms.

Karen, may I ask how old you are? There were times I never thought my period would stop. My mom and sisters were all done by 53, never thought it would go to 56. So have you missed just this period? About 5 years ago I had a period that was light and lasted a few days, I got it again 2 weeks later and again it was light and lasted a couple days. At the time I thought this was the beginning of the end but it came back the next month and has been regular ever since. I have been tracking my cycles for about the last 8 years in anticipation of menopause and found my symptoms to be pretty regular. Now things are a bit strange. I haven't taken a pregnacy test or been to the doctor but know I should. This stuff is just all too strange. Keep me posted!

Hello, I have just turned 50 and hate it because it means the ends to my hopes. I went through IVF fell pregnant only to mis carry a few weeks into the pregnacy. I don't know which is worse, to have such high hopes in IVF or accepting that I'm too old to get pregnant with out assistance and a great deal of money. Also in Australia the lack of privacy involved in having to advertise for an egg donor is painful as it is nolonger a thing just between yourself and your partner. There is now a whole team involved in getting you pregnant and nothing feels like yours any more. At present there is no more money for treatment but if I was able to do it again it would not be in Australia.

I had a tubal reversal 6 months ago, it was successful.  I am 7 days late, had a negative HPT and took a blood test yesterday and negative as well.  I have regular periods and have never missed one except for pregnancies (4 children).  Also had tests done last month to detect hormone levels and all was normal.  Could I still be pregnant?

OH, and I am 40 years old.

The concern after a tubal reversal is of eptopic or filopean tube pregnacy which is very painful and if left untreated life threatening. This is rare thou and is more likely to be a hicup that will right its self. However; my tubal reversal brought on the onset of menopause and I wish I had not had it as I still had to go through the stress and failure of IVF. There has be many reported case of a rush of ferility just before menopause resulting in late in life pregnacies, not the case for me unfortunatly. Good Luck and every success hope good news for xmas.

HI

I'm a month away from 47 years old, I have a 6 month old, soon to be 7 year old, a 23 year old and a granddaughter born 24 hours before my 6 month old daughter.  My 6 month old daughter was a natural, unplanned pregnancy ... we adore her.

I think I may be pregnant once again.  Yikes!

Birth control pills always made me ill, my husband wouldn't get snipped ... we just watch the calender and use the pull out method. Worked well until my daughter, although I have to admit I remember the day we got pregnant - we threw cation to the wind and laughed  "LOL we joked, who gets pregnant at 46".  The one and only time I ever remember not being careful.  My husband thought I was going through early menopause, my doctor told me he suggested patients over 45 taking the pill should stop, due to the unlikeliness of pregnancy.  Plus, I got pregnant at the same time as my then 22 year old daughter.  What are the odds?

Now could I really be pregnant again?  Am I some kind of fertile freak-a-zoid or maybe it's just in my cards to be mother-ever-after. I'm going to pick up a test tomorrow, but from past experiences the home test always shows up negative at first - for me that is, I may just go get a blood test.

To all of you who are numb with worries ... I learned a great deal from my late in life baby, health and family are everything!!!  Keep you, your family and soon to be family healthy and you'll be happy for sure... take it one day at a time.  I know it's hard if finances are the case, which is the case with us - I've never been so so broke!  I still take a deep breath daily and remind myself  what matters.

I'm not saying I'm not completely exhausted, but I was completely exhausted with each child.  Although my 7 year old does point out my new spots and wrinkles on a daily basis like he's playing I-spy, I have to shake that off.

Hang in there ... I'll try to catch back up soon.

Hi, Kate here...don't know if this was intended for me...but no, i wasn't pregnant three months ago. I have only spotting now, but it feels like i am having a period. Can this still be ovulation? Somehow I don't think i'm thru yet but it's been 10 months now since my last 'good' period.
ALL THOUGHTS ARE APPRECIATED!
(WISHING EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!!)

hi there, ive been going through the menopause nonsense for 3 yrs now 9 months no period get 2 in a row 3rd spotting than 8 month again no period then again 2 in a row now again it 8 months and starting feeling wierd almost like I might be pregnant but at 53 im seriously doubting although I did concieve 4 yrs ago but my hormone levels dropped and i shed the pegnancy the test was positive but they didnt see any thing on the ultrasound thus began bleeding heavy at 9 weeks..I do ues bc and have all along..but i do see and feel sighns of ovulation how ever good it is..but i think the spotting your having is hormonal and depending on your age is probably menopause related but you should consult your doc and have him do blood level for hormones to see if it menopause because bleeding after meno can signal cancer so check with your ob..
