This is great advice. I am in a weightloss competition and need to lose 15 pounds in 3 weeks to win a free treadmill. I am 6-1 and 190 pounds so not really overweight. This should be interesting. If I win I'm going to Golden Corral. This is solely about winning a competition, not losing weight. Roll Tide.

There are many good ways to lose weight as some are stated above. The fastest way I found to lose weight was to exerciser a lot everyday and go on the Atkins diet! This doesn't require you to buy anything that you don't have in your house! It's simple!

-DO NOT EAT ANY CARBS. This is especially important, carbs only mean more fat for your body to digest. 

-EAT ONLY PROTEIN, AND VEGETABLES. You can eat as much eggs, meat, and vegetables as you want. This is mainly what your diet will consist of. 

-DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Drinking a lot of water will not only help you lose weight but is also very filling. 

In all you do not want to eating carbs, sugar, or anything of that nature. The first couple of days will be very hard! All diets are! Atkins, every so kindly created bars you can eat if you are craving something sweet. Not only do these bars help you if you want something sweet, they contain only one gram of sugar and you won't be cheating on your diet! Also, exercise is key to losing weight in general. Do at least 30 minutes of physical activity, if you can get more that's great!

hello April, i felt the same as you do. i had a baby at 19 and lost all my weight but by the age of 22 i had gained about 40 pounds and was about 175 pounds. I hated the way i looked also. I tried dieting pills and i just quit eating but it wasnt helping. so i got a membership at a gym and worked out for a few months every other day and i managed to get down to 132 pounds. now im 24 and just had another baby. im back to being 175 pounds and im going to the gym to lose it again. it takes work to look good but when you get to your goal weight you will feel so much better about yourself. good luck and dont forget its not whats on the outside that counts. hi guys , i used to be a 83 kg with 5.9 and have a blood pressure . In my society girl don't like fat guy , so i started going for jogging in the morning everyday and practice shuffle dance evey night and one day hunger strike < mostly one Saturday >and the good thing what i did was i stopped drinking alcohol. Now i am 65 kg , I had loose 18 kg. i fell very good . So what i am trying to say is, start something and get it done , many of people like me try something and don't stay till end .Do exercise regularly for at least 2 month and than stay on balance diet .

I wanted to know did you just drink regular hot water from the tap or did you boil the water? Also, did you do anything along with drinking hot water, like exercise or eat differently. Because I need to loose weight fast for my brother's engagement at the end of the month and I need something that will work fast. Im only 25, a mother of 2 and I weigh 265lbs with hypothyroidism. I want to look good and need a way to loose weight fast no matter what. Please help!

seriously guys, dont do it the unhealthy way it wont stay off.. i have lost 5kg since doing this (then gained 2kg only due to pure lazyness, starting back at school, and having a baby that wont sleep, its made it hard the last 2 weeks)... i have a protein shake for breakfast (rapid loss) which is 240 calories. then have carrots, snowpeas and celery for snack, (or any fruit, such as strawberries, blueberries etc) then for lunch a can of tuna or another protein shake, another snack of fruit or veggie sticks or a can of coke for my sugar kick, then proper tea and sometimes desert. all up just be sure you do not exceed 1800 calories a day, 2000 is to maintain weight so anything less then that it better, i try for 1500-1600 but as i said above i have a baby so need the added energy.. then when it comes to exercise, to maintain a healthy weight you need 30 minutes of exercise 3 days a week, so for weight loss you need more, i try for 4-5 days a week.. i would 7 if i had time... but i start by doing 2km on the cross trainer which is 12minutes and around about 215calories, i then do 3 minutes of skipping, 30 sit ups, 15 push ups, 30 leg lifts each side, 20 step ups 10 star jumps 20 step ups 10 star jumps 20 step ups 10 star jumps then back on the cros trainer, i try doing this for at least 3 rounds, but i do try 5 .. this routine is only new, only been doing it a week, have done it 3 times and i feel so much better about myself becuz of the extra workout i have put in, so ill see my scale results in a few days but i feel like i have lost some weight. when it comes to water, i find i am hopeless to drink so i make sure itake 10 sips at least every 15 minutes, and 1200ml at least at night while exercising.. yes it takes time but its the healthy way, you will keep it off as long as you stay at or below your 2000 calorie limit, you will get into routine soon enough so yu will be able to stop counting, still eat your take away or your biscuits chips have aglass of coke etc, just be sure your overall week calorie count is below 14000 by as much as possible, preferably 12,000 calories xxx good luck love!

Your post saddened me.  You need to work on your inside before you will EVER be happy with your outside.  If you think you are ugly and fat, you are sending yourself the wrong message.  I am 5"3 and have been up and down the scale from 140 to 225 and even at my fattest, I never told myself I was ugly. 

You need to be positive!  Fake it until you make it!  If you want to lose weight, great....but don't do it because you have skinny sisters.  I did the Atkins and lost 72lbs, it made me happier, my clothes fit better but my life was still the same.  Losing weight doesn't change WHO you are, just what you look like....and what you look like should NEVER define you.

Hey darling! I feel your pain. I know there are some health freaks out there. Since you don't have too many days left, just do a liquid diet for 2 days. Drink coffee with Stevia(not splenda). It will keep your energy up and try not to eat. If you are gonna eat, make sure you eat protein only! eat canned tuna in water, pick the one with the lowest calorie, or white chicken breast, no oil, no salt. Do a research on Dukan diet. Email me

and I'll explain it more to you and get you in a support group. I went from size 10 to 2 on Dukan but I'm gaining right now and I need to jump back on it ASAP.
