I agree it is based off of one's body. I'm one of those people that is "anti-doctors or drugs", but my bleeding was so out of control that I would bleed out of the SUPER Overnight pads. It was embarrassing and got to a point where I did not leave the house while I was on my period.
I'm going on two years since my procedure and the bloating is finally not as bad. I felt like before I could eat what I wanted and I never noticed it. I researched the best foods that work with your "Blood Type". After two weeks of eating these foods (not dieting) I felt great and no more bloat. I also downloaded an app on my iPhone, Period Plus, that tracts my cycle. Overall, the positive of the procedure out ways the negative. I have very light periods (pantie liner spotting), but I still have the PMS...it didn't take away my mood swings, headaches or the cramping while I'm on my period. I take a natural Progesterone Cream and that helps those symptoms. I am Estrogen Dominant so that is expected...and if I stick with the foods that work with my blood type...who knows I might not need the cream anymore. It seems like every case is different...its a risk you take. I would find a doctor that has been doing it for years and know what he/she is doing. That's my experience...hope that helps!
I had this procedure oct 22,2010. I had it because I was bleeding much more than earlier periods. Even skipped one a few months back. Went into obeying had an out patient procedure -D&C and then Novasure. Felt so good the next day I was doing laundry and walking dogs! Mistake! I was still under anesthesia. And thought I could go back to work the day after I didn't rest or day 2. Should have styled in bed for 3-4 days after my procedure but thought I was go to go! Well, not resting cost me weeks in recovery. Here it is 8 weeks and 1 day and I just stopped draining with blood and watery liquid. It just happens every once in a while. The healing smell is abating too, finally, thought it would never go away. Not sure if wearing tampons prolonged this or not, but I never liked or used pads. So today 8 weeks later no period or draining and the slight cramping I was feeling throughout is gone too. Otherwise no pain with the procedure at all, not even pain meds afterwards. Only had one 3 day period after that was just heavier draining is all! Overall, glad I did it!
i had the novasure done 12/4/11 and I had very strong cramps the first day but was fine after when it was time for first period it was watery and slightly pink then mini pads foe the next 4 weeks and second period just a slight discharge nothing since! I love it best thing i have ever done. but I do still experience cramping in my lower back like in the hip area. but its usually only one day? still highly recommend it.
I would not recommend the Novasure for anyone!!! I had mine done in August 2010 with a T.A. and regret ever getting it done. I have been in pain ever since and constantly feeling like I have to pee, had to have my left ovary removed in July 2012 and now looking at possibly having a hysterectomy at the age of 30.....
Guest, I'm 29 and will be having a total hysterectomy done next month on the 9th including the removal of my right ovary, cervix (that was burnt shut by the NovaSure wand!) both tubes and the doctor is going to try to save my left ovary so that I don't have to take HRT's. I would never in my entire life recommend anyone to this surgery and plan on taking my reports and pictures of my uterus/cervix after surgery is done and filing a formal complaint with the FDA asking them to remove this treatment! As we speak I'm in pain again because of this disaster, narcotic pain pills doesn't help and it last for over a week. Why did you have your left ovary removed for, did it get damaged by the ablation?
Sorry for your Pain. I totally Understand. I was 40 when I had the procedure. and I am in pain on my Right side and it travels to my back. It used to be once in awhile now its more consistent. I wish there was a bit more research on it when I had it done. Must be alot more women out there if everyone seems to find this site. Im struggling with Weight gain now , I had lost 40 pounds and with same habits have slowly gained it. The Dr. says it isnt from this procedure. but some women who had it are in the same boat. I guess we will never know.
:'(I'm sorry ladybugkarin that you are suffering from this procedure as well. I was not informed that any of this could happen to me when I talked to my old doctor. I was informed about how great & safe it was, no down time or over night hospital stay and that it would slow down or stop my periods all together. I went in and talked to my old doctor in February of 2011, March he did the endometrial biopsy and ultrasound and April 18th I was on the table, that's how fast he rushed me. Thanks to the doctor not doing a complete burn on me, I'm re-growing lining and having periods again but the fluids are trapped inside between the uterus wall and muscle. With the damage and trapped fluids being in there, this has also caused a 8MM fibroid cyst/tumor to grow into my uterine wall, let alone what fluids that are able to seep out back flushes up into my tubes but stop where my clamps are at and that causes them to swell up and over the clamps and to pull on my sciatic nerve. My cervix was also burnt shut because the doctor apparently hit the foot pedal while pulling the wand out and it went off but failed to notify let alone fix this situation. I'm finding out little bits and pieces now since I've talked to more doctors and did research on it and come to find out it's not recommended that you have a tubal done at the same time as the ablation. The weight gain has got to do something with this procedure, I eat healthy and exercise and no matter what I do I can't lose weight. I don't eat junk foods or fried processed, I have 1 soda a week, lots of fruits veggies, water and lean meats and I'm still fat. When my pains first started back in April of this year I thought honestly my appendix was about to blow. Each month the strength of this pain got worse and started to spread to my upper legs, groins, lower back, the lady "zone" and now finally to my middle back and feet. When the pain first flares up, it will put me down for an entire week or longer, some days I can't keep anything down for 3-4 days. It honestly feels like someone is ripping my guts out form the lady zone area and setting them on fire. Also sometimes when I'm not in pain I get these weird crawling sensations in there. You would be surprised how many complaining woman have posted about NovaSure on other websites as well. Hystersisters has a forum for women like us that sadly we're loosing parts due to this procedure. I honestly hope that the FDA will take the time in considering putting more out there about the possible side affects from this. I personally called the NovaSure company and informed them what was going on, to which they acted like they could give a rats ass about what happened or that there are women suffering because of their machine. I was informed that they would do an "investigation" and that's been about 4 months ago and never herd anything back form them. Guess the all mighty dollar is more important than one's health and well being! I wish you the best of luck and if you do have to have a hysterectomy done see if your doctor can do picture's/video's of it showing damage. If they agree to do so please take your findings to the FDA, maybe this will help save another woman from having to suffer as much as we have!
Thank. Hope you feel better soon. I like reading these post of other women so I can see that im not "Crazy"
Thank you, I hope you feel better as well. I thought I was crazy with the pains at first, even being told that by a few ER doctors who also decided to label me as a pillhead drug abuser. It's pretty sad that doctors don't know what can happen with this ablation. You mention the words Post Tubal Ligation Ablation Syndrome and they look at you like you lost your friggin mind. It's very much real and it sucks. You take care and keep in touch on here, I would love to see how things turn out with you!!
hi
I had Novasure done on 1 November 2012, I had problems at the beginning as I ended up getting a doctor out on three day after because I was being sick and i couldnt stop so the doctor gave me a jab to stop it. It stop it for the rest of the day. Then the follow week I ended up going to A&E because I was having major stabbing pains that when around to the back. The tested my pee i had my first bladder infection. So had to have some medication to clear it. On 11 November I had my first period which was still very heavy and it lasted for 10 days. Since then I havent had a period but have had all the symptoms of PMT and bloating of the stomach and tender breasts. I know that I should be happy that I am not having a period buts its the symptoms arent so nice.
I am due to see the consultant in March that will be four months after the operation. I am taking the pill but I did stop it for three weeks to see if that would bring on a period but it didnt.

I had Novasure done in January 2011, and it was the best thing I could've done. I guess I have been lucky because I've not had any problems whatsoever, and I haven't had to deal with a period since then. I had no idea so many people have had problems with this. I'm glad i found this site so that I can also warn others that their outcome may not be anything like mine.
I would find a different doctor. I had mine done 2 years ago and had discharge for about 6 months after wards. Nothing to alarming but sometime annoying. It was nice to be able to go to my doctor and have him "q tip" me and tell me that I was fine. It is never good to have a concern and not feel confident getting the answers you need. Please take it from me get a second opinion before it either turns into something or you stress yourself out to much about it.

I had this procedure three months ago, I feel wonderful even can't get enough sex. My only regrets are that I didn't have the procedure earlier. I should have had it two years ago.
