I am NOT impressed with Proactive at all. I ordered in may and finally now just received my order. They had shipped to wrong address and then didn't send free gift, and didn't want to do anything for me.

I received all the items i paid for NO FREE gift as advertised, I was excited to use this.

I used it and woke up with a RED SOOOOOOOOOOO SWOLLEN face from top of forehead to down my neck, Itchy and burning.I am 21 weeks pregnant so I couldnt take anything for it. They told me COLD COMPRESS.

Horrible. I am upset that I had a reaction to this product as I have heard great thigns about it.

Been two days since swelling has gone down but still itchy.

Will not be using Proactive again.

I have very sensitive skin, so when I first tried proactive I hated it! It made me breakout more and my skin was very dry! It just didn't work well for me. I now use neutrogena, it works very well with my sensitive skin and I have seen great results.

I used Proactiv once before late 2010 with PERFECT results. I had absolutely no negative reactions and my face was completely clear for three months until I stopped using it.

Now, just yesterday when it arrived in the mail, I came back to using Proactive. Last night was the first time using it in two years. Woke up this morning with irritation under my eyes and after using the bathroom I looked in the mirror to see my under-eyes COMPLETELY SWOLLEN! I looked liked an aged woman with bagged eyes!

Five hours passed and the swelling went down, but obviously Proactiv added something new to their formula since 2010. I hate to throw away this kit but most importantly I don't want to ruin my face. I must try another acne system.

THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME!

I'm so glad I found this page to see that so many other people were experiencing the same thing, I AM NEVER USING PROACTIV AGAIN!

I started using proactiv in the summer when i had some mild pimples nothing serious and I used proactiv for about two months straight after that and I was completely fine, my face was clearing up and it was actually working for. After the two months I decided to stop using proactiv because it is now getting colder in weather and I started noticing that my face was getting very dry, so I used Cerave hydrating cleanser for a while now and it's amazing and I have not once used proactiv until last night!

I noticed I had some small pimples around my forehead and like 2 or 3 on my cheek so I decided to give proactiv a try again being that it helped my skin clear up before so I thought why not now. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!

I woke up this morning for school and I was so terrified, I stayed home from school. BOTH of my eyes were extremely swollen, red and puffy. Only the eyelid area and under my brows, it was so swollen it was uncomfortable and couldn't even open my eyes completely, and also around my cheekbones and down towards my jawline it was itchy and red and also a bit swollen. I took a benadryl tablet and applied some benadryl allergy cream under my browbone and to my cheeks and it has stopped the itching and it's been about 5 hours since I woke up and the redness has gone down but the puffiness of my eyes/ cheeks are still here! I have no idea what to do and I have to do a presentation in school tomorrow, using proactiv last night was the worst idea ever.

I'm going to use ice packs around the puffy areas and hopefully it'll help and take more benadryl, I''m throwing out my proactiv!

So i used proactive for about maybe 6 or 5 months close to a year i was using it and it was AMAZZINGG! i LOVED it so much then i stopped because i went on a camp and i never really got back into it but a couple of weeks past and i thought im going to start using my proactive again because that was the night before New Years Eve! So i used it and i woke up to find myself scratching all over my face and i thought "why is my face so itchy?!" so i went to the mirror and i looked and in almost every place visible in my face is was SWOLLEN red and itchy it was horrible, so i went to an new years eve party with a swollen itchy face i thought it was just the first time i had started to use it so i stopped then i just put it on again last night and same thing happened just alittle worse! never using it again i just through it all away in the trash can. trash worth nothing.

When I was 16 I tried Proactiv for the first time. I do not recall having an allergic reaction to it. Since then I have had a baby and I am now 24. I just started Proactiv again but unfortunately for me I am allergic to the Benzoyl Peroxide. I noticed the annoying itching after 4 days of use. I was only using it once a day. I called Proactiv to report my allergic reaction and they were very nice about it. I asked about the gentle formula that they offer. They are sending it to me free of charge and were completely apologetic about the reaction I had. They do have in their instructions to do a test behind your ear to check for allergic reactions but I did not pay any mind to it since I did not have a reaction the first time i tried it 8 years ago.

Hi guys. I have the same issues as well. In fact, I do think it has something to do with the new formula because I have been using Proactiv (believe it or not) for 14 years (since I was 14) and about 2 years ago, i suddenly developed rashes and they were itchy. My face was red and hot. I don't know what went wrong because I have never stopped using it.

I wrote in to the customer service and they only told me to use the lotion every other day. No help at all.

Can you imagine for 14 years I have been so dependent on this product and then suddenly it just didnt work anymore? I am clueless as to what other products I can use. I am getting bad breakouts every time it nears my period and it's very frustrating!

I still think it has something to do with the new formula.

I purchased the dark spot corrector a few months ago without having read reviews... bad idea! It's very worst that could happen is that it won't do anything and I can give it to someone else so they don't try it.

I have had the same reaction as many others. Swollen itchy and blistered skin especially on the eyelids, under eyes, on my neck and behind my ears. Proactive is really horrible stuff and clearly does little to help your skin.

I have used ProActive for 15 years and swore by it!  I ran out recently and so stopped for a week or so.  When I started using it again (when my shipment arrived) I experienced red swollen eyes, redness in the creases around my mouth and nose and between my eyebrows on my forehead.  It was very painful.  The swelling was unbelievable.  I did not think it could possibly have been the ProActive, but after reading the experiences above, I am convinced it is!  I am shocked!  Really!  It is like my skin in those areas was badly burned, it blistered and peeled.

It has happened three times since and each time I had used Proactive.

No more!

Maybe it is a new formulation.  But whatever, I will not be recommending it to anyone anymore.
