Strange throbbing/ pulsing in my thigh just above knee

I have an unusual heavy pulse in my left inner thigh just above my knee for the last couple of days. It isn't painful, but it is a little alarming. It goes in and out irregularly. It's like a quick little quiver, in rythym with my pulse. What is this, and should I do something!?!

Hey, I get this too, but on my right leg. Also yesterday my whole left leg had pins and needles in for about an hour. I'm a type one diabetic and only 16... anyone got any ideas? Like someone else says, I haven't told my family or the doctor... but I guess I ought to! :PAs other people have said, it happens when sitting down/laying down and eases off with standing/walking... Is it anything to worry about? help would be appreciated!! xxxx
I have had this bee sting like sensation in my left leg immediately above the left leg. My doctor says it is related to a nerve from my lower back. My physiotherapist, however, says the sensation is not consistent with a nerve path.Strange, however, when I wear a knee brace the symptoms seem to disappear. This leads me to believe it is in relation to arthritis in the knee. My cat scan of left knee showed sharp bone spur. Had cortisone injections, however, to little avail. Has anybody else experienced anything like this? I would love to know.
I also have this pulsing in my left leg, it used to be just above the knee, in the front centre of the leg, but recentlly it has moved 90 degrees to the outside of the leg. Perhaps it is to do with sitting at computers for so long.
I have had this pulsing feeling about an inch above and an inch over from my kneecap. I'm 16, I don't have flat feet, diabetes or anything that others have mentioned might be the problem. I play sports often and am not out of shape or overweight. I'm just wondering if I should be going to a doctor or ignoring it. When it pulses, I can see it and feel it on my skin. It feels like a heart beat, or the jello through your veins type feeling. Its not painful, either.
It could be a blood clot. Get cheked before it travels somewhere you dont want aka heart.
i have the same thing my mom said it might just be because i changed my physical activity, some thing about sore nerve endings
It's because your muscles are tired. You either rest awhile, or if you don't want to then just handle the annoying twitch. Happens to me a lot in my left upper thigh. It supposedly goes along with your pulse. Oh, I know about it because my dada told me about it when I asked, he's a doctor. And I'm 13, but I'm taking a lot of activities right now like volleyball, track, gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, etc. It's all because the muscles are tired.
Your muscles are tired, nothing really major or anything that you have to tell your doctor about. The exact same thing a happens to me at the exact same place on my left thigh and I do a lot of sports and am fit.
I'm experiencing the same thing, a pulsating half way up my inner thigh on my left leg. I've had it before a couple of years ago and it went of its own accord, tonight it's come back and is keeping me awake. I'm relieved to hear it's a common problem and nothing to worry about.
Sounds exactly like what I have been experiencing for the past 3 days. I only notice this when at rest. When walking, it doesn't seem to occur. I had knee surgery 5 or so years ago and thought this might have been related to that in some way.
THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO ME I HAVE NO IDEA WHY BUT... IT IS CREEPING ME OUT A LOT!!!!!!:'(
I started noticing this phenomenon yesterday evening just above my right knee on the inside of the thigh. Like others have said it isn't painful but is very annoying and at times worrying. Most noticeable when sitting down or lying in bed. I'm not overweight or a diabetes sufferer either. Glad I found this topic on here. A bit concerning that DVT came up on page 1 but relieved that it didn't get a mention on the other 3 pages and most people seem to be saying it is nothing to worry about. I have been going to the gym quite a bit lately so maybe it is simply over-use and tiredness of the muscles.
