Thank you!!!! This helped
Exactly the same thing here. I've quit for almost 2 months and the pain is excruciating! Every time I attempt a deep breath it feek like my lungs are being crushed. Does this subside after a while?
Scary stuff being a heavy dope smoker at one time now I have a month clear from dope. My lungs are sore to the point of agony it comes and goes hope it goes and stays away. I have to much life to live to young hope it gets better. My prayers to all who suffer.
I also experienced chest paint from e-cigs. Smoker for 15 yrs, then e-cig for 5 years. Finally quit all inhaled substances due to chest pain a month ago. Pain has mostly subsided, but constant cough and colored mucus. E-cigs aren't as consequence free as they're promoted to be. Made my own e-juice from quality supplies, wasn't mystery juice from China.
50/50 my chest is hurting from not having a cigarette all day or my bra is too tight. When my bra is too tight it ALWAYS gives me chest pain.
E cigs are so over rated glad you quit. People think it helps stop smoking cigs which it does but it's not a good habit to pick up either. Replace smoking with running or water, people, please! Replace one bad habit with another (good) habit.
Hi there All. The answer is yes it takes a long time. I have been now 512 days smoke free, have done 5 half marathons(21km), the pain still appears once in a blue moon now. Hang in there, it is worth the journey to a better living. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ,PROUD TO BE PART OF THIS GROUP.
When you smoke it paralyzes the nerve cells in your lungs but still inflames them. Once you quit smoking, you are no longer paralyzing those cells multiple times a day but you still are healing from the inflammation. It got considerably better in three weeks. A turmeric, ginger, and black pepper tea helps with the inflammation also.
Im extremely relieved to see many people experience the same thing and within the same time frame too
I gave up cold 2 and a half weeks ago and about a week ago i had a mild cold with a pretty bad headache and bad sinus issues i didnt relate it to quitting till recently
But pain is the chest is not something i was expecting
The pain ALMOST feels similar to an extremely sore muscle front right upper chest maybe 2 inches below my nip
I was worried it was related to bad liver or galstones but noticed the pain persists mainly as i breath in or out deep
Ive yet to find much useful info besides nonsmokers saying "oh dont worry youll be okay good luck"
Im really hoping the pain will go away soon

Not sure you're going to read this since it's been over 4 years- but I was wondering if you ever found out what was causing the chest pain? Also are you still vaping? I just quit smoking about a month and a half ago and started vaping...a lot. I felt great up until today. Every time I hit the vape my chest starts hurting again. I'm trying to find answers online, but none of the message boards or sites are up to date..everything is AT LEAST 2 years old or more. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
HEY I'm 27 and also just stopped smoking weed and cigarettes after 11 years, I'm getting sharp pains in the heart region and feel as though I'm gonna die.
Hello
I'm 28 years old. Was heavy smoker for 5 years. Its almost been 1 years since my last ciggarete. I was fine for 4 months after quitting. After that slowly I started getting pain in both sides of chest in both heart and lungs. Had been to doctor and he said x ray is clear. Pain is not going off. In another 10 days I would be completing 1 year. I'm thinking I'm having some heart and lung disease. Feel like I want to die instead of this pain. I know no can help here. Does any one is having or had this symptoms after quitting for this long time?? I think I'm gonna die soon because of this. I was supposed to get marry. Because of this I'm getting fear to marry.
