Anyone, get this same thing happen to them after consuming evn small amounts of vinegar..? So I am an avid eater of vinergar and cucumbers or vinegar and lettuce, shortly afterward I get a stuffy nose and congested head. I associated this together a few months ago but was in denial of me having an allergy to vinegar, I noticed it happened every time after eating italian dressing. I soon narrowed it down to the vinegar. Wow what a deal. I have gone 30+ years without knowing I have this small allergy to vinegar, anyone else have the same thing, and what are your symptoms..?

I put a bow of vinegar inside my ac air return to see if it might help my stuffy nose. My cousin 90 years young believes in this. What do you think?
I need a reply to bowl of vinegar in ac return on air conditioner.
I sweat profusely when I have vinegar. Just from the neck up like I just got out of the shower.
I suddenly get itching in my throat and start coughing when I eat pickles or salad dressing containing vinegar. It takes me awhile before I can continue to eat.I cant talk and my eyes water.
That is definitely an allergic reac
I clean with Vinegar & water in washing clothes to my kitchen/ bathroom ect. I'm now noticing my breathing gets bothered & I end up taking a allergy tab. I will slowly stop use of it or just add more water. Vinegar is great to clean with it is natural & cheap too.
I started washing my clothes using a cup of vinegar with the detergent to help get rid of pet odor and in the same time frame my arms and legs get real itchy and I have broken out with a rash on my arms and legs. wondering if there may be a connection?? After reading about all the vinegar allergies, my assumption may be right?
I too had salads all round d months , n vinegar uhh it causes me like cracks in all over mouth n tongue n burns
When I eat ANYTHING with Vinegar of any kind & SOY of any kind - I get the same result: My feet & Legs SWELL & I get a runny nose and congested 'stuffy head'. NOT SURE IT IS AN 'ALLERGY' per se - I've had all kinds of tests and am technically not allergic to anything. Each body has 'sensitivities' and some of us are more aware of them than others. The first thing I realized was contributing to the stuffy head etc was Red Wine, so I don't drink it. Think it was the sulfites... but since I don't like feeling I get when I have any - I just don't drink it. Then I connected the dots and ID'd SOY as THE MAIN culprit so eliminated SOY. MOST OF THE FEET & LEG SWELLING STOPPED. But, then I ID'd VINEGAR as the last cause. Now, as long as I don't ingest anything with even a small amount of vinegar - no swelling. So - for those who have a bad reaction to Vinegar, I'd suggest eliminating anything with Nitrate & Nitrite, Sulfites, SOY & Vinegar... Go back to a wide variety of ORGANIC VEGGIES. Quit Red Meat unless it is Organic Grass Fed with No Corn Finish. No Pork unless Organic. If you have to eat meat - eat less & more veggies and try BUCKWHEAT which has no gluten. It's not an intolerance thing - Buckwheat and Veggies are just less hard to digest and live with. Organic veggies actually have more of the nutrients and mycorrhizal fungi in them so are a COMPLETE food. Substitute FRESH ORGANIC Lemon or Lime Juice for the Vinegar in salad dressings and even in baking. Make your own Pickles with LIME juice the way they do in CLASSIC Indian Cooking. Be careful too that herb and spice mixes have no Soy or vinegar added... read your labels closely because Herb mixes are full of stuff other than herbs. I also suggest trying a wide variety of pro-biotics and a soluble fibre like Organic Acacia Powder. My personal experience with them (control of IBS) has been very, very good... so try them along with eliminating the Vinegar etc IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME WHY SOY & VINEGAR etc CAUSE THE EFFECTS (Histamine reaction?)(whatever?) - PLEASE DO SO. :) Veggies forever!
According to Eat Right For Your Type, condiments are not recommended for any blood type. I am O type. I get canker sores on both lips and tongue when I eat vinegar.
I can NOT use vinaigrette or Balsamic dressing. It feels like it gets into my lungs and I cough severely. I am NOT asthmatic.
Don't know if connected but Minties (spearmint sweets) make me sneeze.
Me too. I thought that's judt what happens with vinegar. I LOVE salt an vinegar chips but am just realizing what it does. Hot, sweaty, red faced and cuts and mouth burn's
ALL wine has sulfite, even if it says it's sulfite-free. Wine, wine vinegars, molasses, and ciders (including ACV) have the highest concentrations. I cannot ingest these items at all or will experience anaphylaxis. It is actually a sensitivity not an allergy, so you can't be tested for it. If you are sensitive, you have a threshold level for it. If you pass that threshold, you will experience a reaction. Mine started with whelps all over my body when I'd wake up and they would emerge under tight spots in my clothing (waistband, bra lines, panty lines).
I get a reaction if i consume anything too acidic be it vinegar or lemon juice - even an ice lemon tea or a salad with red wine vinegar can cause a bad reaction. My throat and tonsils get covered in white patches, swelling and pain and hard to swallow, feverish and red sore eyes. It seems to affect my sinuses too. I end up in bed for next few days.
