Anyone, get this same thing happen to them after consuming evn small amounts of vinegar..? So I am an avid eater of vinergar and cucumbers or vinegar and lettuce, shortly afterward I get a stuffy nose and congested head. I associated this together a few months ago but was in denial of me having an allergy to vinegar, I noticed it happened every time after eating italian dressing. I soon narrowed it down to the vinegar. Wow what a deal. I have gone 30+ years without knowing I have this small allergy to vinegar, anyone else have the same thing, and what are your symptoms..?

ALLERGY MAKES YOU TYPE IN ALL CAPS.
I have just recently found I have a terrible allergic reaction to vinegar. After eating just a tiny bit (teaspoonful) of Cole slaw which had some vinegar Within 5 minutes - my lower lip swelled up twice its normal size and my eyes and itchy and my throat felt closing. This all from vinegar! Be very careful, symptoms like mine can go on to be life-threatening.
I have exactly the same problem. I just have the addition that I get goose bumps on my arms when I eat chocolate
i found out the same way i had a vinegar allergy. my throat would partially close and make breathing , stop eating it in any form as the next time i had it i had an anaphlytic shock and my throat closed completely and couldnt breathe at all, it can be FATAL, i now have to wear a med bracelet and have a medical alarm in muy home
The exact same thing happens to me. I just sweat on my head

It just occurred to me that I might be allergic to vinegar. I have a long history of GERD that I have blamed frequently loosing my voice on. Anything that causes more acid than my meds, Protonix, can handle has caused temporary loss of voice along with the pain. I have been avoiding eating anything with vinegar. Today I scrubbed my feet with a mix of Apple Cider Vinegar with coconut oil followed by a vinegar rinse for fungal skin problems. Since I was in the shower that was rinsed off with clear water. Within a half hour my eyes were watering (never made this connection till reading this blog) and shortly after loss my voice. Weird, huh? Does this hapoen to anyone else?
Google gustatory sweating
I can't believe I found this! I knew I was allergic to sulfites but it's gotten exponentially worse this year. Just had mayo on a sandwich and googled "distilled vinegar makes my lips tingle". Looks like I will be reading labels more carefully. Thank you for making me realize I am not alone.
wow, finally found I am not the only one to have this problem. I too have reaction like food poisoning after eating anything with vinegar. Sevier cramping, diarrhea, headache, dehydration, nausea. Takes me about a week to get back to normal although the onset symptoms only last about 6-8 hours. this has only occurred in the last 3-4 years. I use to be able to eat big fat dill pickles with the best of them. Still looking for suggestions and ways to deal with it. I know, stay away from vinegar, right?
Scalp. My scalp is itchy, sore, inflamed, red patches & I have little festered bumps. Three weeks ago my granddaughter gave me a bad case of super lice (they're a real thing). The super lice cannot be killed by chemicals. I used a natural mix of olive oil, distilled white vinegar, Himalayan salt & tea tree oil. Killed the lice & nits dead. And apparently my scalp. I have never had a reaction like this to vinegar. My head itches so bad. So, I figured I had wrecked my scalp's Ph, so I've been rinsing my hair with Apple cider vinegar. I now think I have made things worse. My hair comes out easily. I plan to not wash my hair for a while & hope that building up some sebum will ease the itching. I use no commercially produced products on my hair. I make my own shampoo & have always loved an ACV rinse. This will bum me out if I have now developed a vinegar allergy.
I have discovered recently that I may have a sensitivity to vinegar. However, I had a different way of discovering it than most people. I have worked in a busy hospital unit for several years. After a patient discharges, the housekeepers scrub the rooms down with unknown (to me) chemicals to clean and disinfect the room. This past year, they have changed to a vinegar based cleaning solution. It's very strong and pungent, and I'm not the only one who notices the odor that wafts through the rooms and hallways. Since the turnover of patients is so high, there is always a room or two or three being cleaned throughout the day. It can't be avoided, and I have to be around it. This is also about the time I started having trouble with vague but annoying symptoms. Sinuses congestion, pressure, dripping are the main things. Also started having problems wearing my contacts, and my eyes are very irritated and red. I have to take my contacts out very quickly after getting to work. My migraines get triggered easily there, along with dizziness. Also, the hot flashes and facial flushing with sweating! Also, my skin turns more red at times, and I look like I've been working out and flushed. (I have very fair and reddish tones skin to begin with so the color gets amplified). It's so strange. There is also a feeling of chest tightness. Sometimes a mild cough. I always attributed these feelings to other things at work such as stress, working swing shift, fighting off a mild illness, hormone changes/that time of month, etc. I feel like I am fighting a minor viral illness, but it's not. All these symptoms seem to get worse at work, and I could never figure out why. Sometimes they are worse, sometimes not present at all. The symptoms often go away completely once I am outside or away from triggers The past few weeks, I finally made the connection with the vinegar cleaner and my symptoms. I was near two rooms that were being cleaned, and my symptoms flared up big time. I have also recently started using vinegar at home to clean, trying to be more natural and staying away form chemicals. Ha, whoops! Since I've been watching more carefully, I realized that the symptoms happen when vinegar fumes are floating around or on clothes. I guess I will stop using this. There is no topical reaction that I noticed with my skin coming in contact (I've experimented). No intentional/digestive reactions that I can tell when eating it. Although I think it does contribute to those respiratory symptoms and facial flushing with sweating when consumed. The reaction is not immediate, but several hours delayed after consumption. It's so frustrating because all the symptoms are so vague and can be attributed to other things. But I think vinegar is definitely suspect.
The Same thing with me, I just sweat on the top of my head only. I have no idea why.
This happened a while back when I was eating steak sauce. It just happened again with ketchup, but thankfully not as bad as the A1 episode.
