Vinegar Allergy!

Oh my.wow. Anything vinagar based. I thought I was alone too. I will sweat as soon as I first ingest it.

Unbelievable. I thought it was just me.

Not a spilling, but anytime I ingest anything vinegar based.

this has happened to me my whole life. i'd cry as a kid, "you drowned my salad." and wouldn't eat it. my scalp and face sweat and i get cold and clammy all over. feels like my head hair is standing on it's ends. this is not an allergy just a sensitivity but why????? i just stay away from all salad dressings with vinegar.

I also have developed a dry vinegar cough, anything with vinegar in it, mustard,salad dressing, pickled veges,ketchup, causes my lungs to spontaneously feel like a fume expansion has to explode out my mouth, even if mouth has food in it. Cough cannot be delayed at all, as it can be delayed a little when you have a cold. Lung capacity and function is excellent otherwise.Because of many years of 80 hr workweeks, adrenal fatigue crept in to my body, and as it started causing sleeping problems last couple years, the vinegar cough came along for the wakeup suprise . I just started treating the adrenal fatigue with amino acids theraphy & DHEA, B ,C vitamins, & pantothentic acid and hope the vinegar cough is a symptom of that diagnosis, not some seperate allergy expression. I added a small amount of balsamic vinegar to my salad yesterday..i woke up at night with Shortness of breath, Swelling lips,sore mouth and stuffy nose,feeling tired and beaten.

I was beginning to sweat (around my forehead) reading your post! I wish there was a treatment for it

The same thing happened to me but with salad. I very small amount of vinegar went down with no food and my throat closed up. It took a friend doing the Heimlich so I could breath.

Yes! I have both. The inside of my mouth and I too get red faced and like a hot flash then swearing around about all my head and face. Glad I have finally found the cause. It seems to be mostly red wine vinegar.

i learned recently i had an allergy to vinegar as i had an enphlactic shock and couldnt breathe, this has develped in the last few years and initially it would just take my breath away and i thought thats all it was, the last time i drank a glass of apple cider vinegar in water i had a shock and couldnt breathe AT ALL, now i cant have it all....i have to have a medic alert bracelet and monitor in my home and have an adrenolin ready shock pen, i never every thought you could be allergic to vinegar, this means i have to check the ingredients in store bought items

that is an enphlatic shock , i have learned recently that i am now allergic to vinegar, i used to drink it (cider vinegar) in water, initially it just took my breath away but i could still breathe...just, the last time i couldnt breathe AT ALL, i now know im allergic and cant risk taking it all in any form, i have to have an adrenolin ready pen and wear a medic alert bracelet and have a medical alert in home for urgent medical attention...i strongly suggest you dont take it anymore as it gets worse with each event

I sweat when eating salt and vinegar crisps thought I was alone! Still eat them as I'm hard core and love the taste

I've had this happen with dill pickles, or if I get soy sauce too close to my nose when I inhale it. I agree it is probably the scariest things that I've ever exerienced
