Anyone, get this same thing happen to them after consuming evn small amounts of vinegar..? So I am an avid eater of vinergar and cucumbers or vinegar and lettuce, shortly afterward I get a stuffy nose and congested head. I associated this together a few months ago but was in denial of me having an allergy to vinegar, I noticed it happened every time after eating italian dressing. I soon narrowed it down to the vinegar. Wow what a deal. I have gone 30+ years without knowing I have this small allergy to vinegar, anyone else have the same thing, and what are your symptoms..?

This happens to me! Only my head. And my saliva glands seems to over produce a bit when this happens. So bizarre.
I have the same issue. Just my head is all that sweats.
I just figured out, I have really BAD allergies to white vinegar! It makes me exhausted, week, effects my breathing and makes me extremely sleepy. Well, I am sensitive to gluten, dairy and soy as well. White vinegar is made of grains, so it makes sence why I am reacting to vinegar. The only thing that helps me to reduce this reaction is enzymes for digesting gluten and immune system supplements.
My jaw starts to get a painful, tingling sensation!
Bro! I thought I was crazy but you confirmed I am not. I always thought it was wieird that I would sweat from smelling vinegar but even THINKING about it makes me sweat.
That is crazy and makes me wonder what can we think of to have a positive effect on our bodies. Science needs to study this.
EXACTLY the same with me. Just thinking about it (like right now!) causes me to sweat.
I have the head sweating as others have reported, but I also have extreme sleepiness that comes on suddenly about 30-60 minutes after eating, and it's debilitating. I have to go lay down immediately. The sleepiness does improve almost instantly after a bowel movement though.
Yes I get a similar reaction. Just having vinegar around me makes me sweat and it I eat any my tongue burns and I develop ulcers in my mouth
Red wine vinegar and white wine vinegar both cause my throat to start to close up, normally drinking a glass of water rinses it off and stops the reaction for me though.
Until I found this thread I didn't have a clue that such thing as allergy to vinegar even exists!
Just like you said, where is the logic in being allergic to food? I want to know if it is curable? Or how to determine can I have at least some dishes with vinegar?
I hate this! Imagine going to the restaurant and every time having request that they don't use vinegar in salads. Or making salads at home without it. It tastes gross! Bah!
For the past almost 3 months I've been trying to figure out why I've been getting these random itchy rashes on my body, almost like mild eczema. I've been trying to think back if I added anything new to my diet. I remembered that my husband started making this delicious bruschetta loaded with balsamic vinegar. We've been eating it quite frequently and it just dawned on me that right after I eat it, the rashes flare up. I am almost certain that it's the balsamic vinegar. It's probably the sulfites in it that is causing the rashes. No more vinegar for me!
I think I’m allergic too. One bite of ketchup or Italian dressing and my face heats up and the skin around my eyes starts to sweat. I’ve been looking for others who have the same symptoms.
No, but you're giving me an idea. I've been wondering if I do have an allergy to Vinegar and I suppose I could just spill some on my foot to find out!
yes! vinegar makes me cough until i feel like my chest is going to explode. i honestly feel like i’m having a heart attack. i cannot go near our kitchen if vinegar gets poured into a bowl!
