I have had the same issue as everyone else....weight gain after surgery. I was thinking it is hormones as well, What I want to know is...does anyone know how to fix the spike in hormones if so what did you do and did it help you to loose weight? because NOTHING else works

Did you ever find a resolution? I'm in the same boat. I had it done in 2013. I've gained 30 pounds. I run 3-5 miles 5 days a week, lift weights and do cardio in the gym 3-4 days a week, limit my alcohol and eat relatively clean. I was a size 4/6 consistently for YEARS and I'm up to an 8/10 now. I am bloated ALL the time, retain water, and always feel like I'm going to start my period. I'm feeling so desperate. Like I can't stand the thought of gaining one more pound!!!

Give it time, you'll see... I'm a fitness trainer. I was stage fit until ablation. In two years time I've gained 30 pounds and nothing else about my life is different. My blood tests are all text book perfect. I'm extremely fit with a clean diet and yet immediately after ablation, I started a slow weight gain that simply won't stop no matter what I do. It IS is ablation. Hopefully you're lucky enough not to experience this side effect.

I am so happy I found this thread. I had an ablation 7 years ago as an alternative to a partial hysterectomy and immediately Realized that my body was changing. I continued to have a normal cycle each month for a couple years, less heavy, but still regular. 2 years post procedure, my period completely disappeared, but the weight gain ( 40 pounds all low front abdominal area) began, facial hair that was nev there before and high, high anxiety. I have had my thyroid, hormones and diabetics checks every six months for 4 years to try and make sense of this. No answers...just "everything is fine". Well, everything is NOT fine. I know my body....something is wrong and it seems like this ablation was the catalyst of the problems.

I had my ablation in Dec 2014. I had been at my previous weight for the past 5 years. I have now gained 12 months since March which is crazy because I don't think I have ever gained that much weight in my whole life. My stomach is getting more bloated every month. I have not gone back to my doctor to get tested for thyroid or any other tests.

I had my novasure done 3 months ago and have gained 16+ lbs.My gyn never told me that I would store blood because of the uterine scarring!!! I was told that the bleeding would STOP altogether because of the lining being gone or thinned out, but after finding that website and reading, it makes SO much sense as to why we would all be gaining so much weight and mainly around the midsection. I feel like I very misled.

Hey everyone! I had my ablation on June 4, 2015. Before the procedure I was working out every other day and really not watching my nutrition. After I had the ablation, I did gain a few pounds. Once I was cleared to workout, I started back up on June 22, 2015. In the first week of exercising and eating cleaner, the weight started to come off. By a week and a half I had lost 7.5 lbs. Now, the 4th of July holiday came around and I wasn't watching what I was eating for 2 days. It is now July 6, 2015 and I have started eating cleaner and exercising. I didn't weight myself today, as I don't want to be disappointed. I am going to keep with what I was doing prior to the 4th of July and see what happens.

I have had a lot of lower back pain and major weight gain since my procedure in 2007. I have often wondered about the body absorbing the shedding that the uterus usually produces. I have never spotted though. I have lost weight a few times, but that is because I basically starved myself. I am on a balanced diet and do Kickboxing / water aerobics and walking all of the time, but still no weight loss. Feels like I am bloated all of the time.

I had an my ablation in June, 2011 (age 47) have gained 60 pounds since then. Have tried all sorts of diets including a high protein/full mean replacement program. Most people using that doctor supervised weight loss program were losing 10-15/month, I lost 4.5 pounds and struggled every bit of the way for another two months to lose 4 more pounds. This sucks!

I will give it a try. I have gained almost 35 lbs in the last 7 months. It really sucks, especially since I'm due to get married next April 2016

I had my ablation done in Dec., 2015 and have gained almost 10 lbs since. Up to this point, for the past 20 years I maintained the same weight plus or minus 3 lbs. but life is now a different story. I LOVE not having my period but hate the extra weight that I did not foresee or get any warnings of. I work out daily now & have since March but I have not shed a pound.

My endometrial laser ablation was done more than one year ago. I'm also hypothyroid. I gained almost 20 pounds rapidly. It's so disappointing that I'm not able to lose weight. I do exercise but I have some cravings. I began some pills for balancing hormones in women and I want to try some skin progestrone cream OTC. In hope they help me with my breast tenderness and weight gain.
